- The honors for Station to Station (2021) kept rolling in, and pretty soon it was clear that lots of people were seeing the same things we saw in the film when we were making it. And it definitely was a 'we.' Every member of the cast and crew knew we had a responsibility to the messages in the film and everyone delivered. I'm proud of what we made and I'm proud we did it together.
- If I could plan what I'd have in five years, I don't think I would want it anymore. So much of being an actor and model is being presented with new, unexpected opportunities and taking them on. That process of constantly discovering, accepting, and embracing new things is why I love what I do.
- When I consider a project, I look at the concept and intention. If I'm confident the quality will be there, and that I can bring something to the table, everything else becomes about serving the vision. I'm all about challenging myself and building a varied and fulfilling body of work; so I go where the good stories are, and do what's needed to tell them.
- My favorite project is always going to be the one I'm working on or just completed. The chance to create something new, to apply my skills to a fresh challenge, is why I do this. That makes every project my favorite.
- I don't seek out opportunities to be nude onscreen, but I'm also not going to put creative limits on myself or a project because of issues others have, that I don't share. Being nude in general is just a non-issue for me....it's just one of many tools potentially available to help tell a character's story, as long as it makes sense creatively and is handled respectfully.
- Acting is on a big playing field. You have dialogue, a larger context, other actors, and beats to play with over time. With modeling, you have to accomplish the same things but in single moments and brief vignettes.
- David Bowie is a core inspiration. Bowie was unapologetic in his personal life and artistic expression. He lived and created authentically, and he wasn't afraid to reinvent - his style, his personae, his work - to stay authentic and keep pushing himself. He said, "If you feel safe in the area you're working in, you're not working in the right area; always go a little further into the water...." and that's exactly who and what I want to be as an artist.
- I think Benjamin Bryant and I just understood each other very well the first time we worked together, and in the years since, that's led to some great collaborations, each looking a little different than the last.
- We filmed Station to Station (2021) on location [in Las Vegas] during what turned out to be the height of the pandemic. That posed a lot of challenges, but it was essential to be there for real. Vegas has a raw, sexy 'anything can happen' energy that was the perfect backdrop for Tom's journey of self-discovery. There's a lot my character gets up to in this film that would raise eyebrows anywhere else, but not in Vegas.
