For a short film, “Night Shift” has a backstory of its own which gives more than the film’s glimpse into a day in the life of a bathroom attendant in a Los Angeles nightclub.
Filmmaker Marshall Tyler’s “Night Shift”, stars Tunde Adebimpe and is executive produced by JuVee Productions, the company founded by Viola Davis and her husband Julius Tennon established to empower diverse voices and emerging artists. It is produced by Moira Griffin, Efuru Flowers and Roberta Marie Munroe.

Michael Jordan is known for keeping his personal life private, but on Monday, the NBA legend took a stand on the country's recent social issues with an emotional essay for The Undefeated. "As a proud American, a father who lost his own dad in a senseless act of violence, and a black man, I have been deeply troubled by the deaths of African-Americans at the hands of law enforcement and angered by the cowardly and hateful targeting and killing of police officers," he wrote in the one-page letter. Aside from announcing grants of $1 million each to support the Institute for Community-Police Relations and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Michael, whose father, James Jordan, was murdered in an act of gun violence in 1993, also urged his peers to seek out change for these important issues. As a proud American, a father who lost his own dad in a senseless act of violence,...

Sailor Jerry is one of the most renowned and globally recognised brands of spiced rum around. It is the favourite tipple of many a person, and so easily conjures up the image of a well earned stiff drink at the end of a long day, or the enjoyment of drinks with friends at the weekend. The straight talking, no frills, swashbuckling essence of the brand though is strongly derived from the man who originally carried the moniker; Norman Keith Collins.
Collins was a prominent and widely revered American tattoo artist, most notably famous for his tattooing of sailors. Born in Reno in 1911 before growing up in Northern California, Collins always exuded the spirit of an adventurer. He spent many of his adolescent years travelling across the country by stowing away on freight trains. It was during this time that he was given an early tutorage on the art of tattooing...

James Jordan has accused 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge Craig Revel Horwood of being a ''vile'' hypocrite. The 37-year-old dancer - who was professional on the BBC dance contest until 2013 - has spoken out after Craig claimed his wife Ola Jordan should be banned from making sexy calendars because 'Strictly' is a ''family show''. James said: ''How can he say it's not Ok to sell a sexy Christmas calendar, but it is Ok to sell his own book telling the world he was a drunken rent boy, and call it 'All Balls and Glitter'? ''Innuendo, anyone? Is that what a 'family show' is...

Kellie Maloney has threatened to ''knock'' James Jordan's ''lights out''. The former boxing promoter - who was known as Frank Maloney before he revealed he'd been living as a woman for the past year - has been clashing with the former 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional in the 'Celebrity Big Brother' house. Speaking to her fellow housemate, 'White Dee' Kelly of 'Benefits Street', on the Channel 5 reality series, she said: ''I can't be in the same room as James. ''The more I'm around James, the more I want to knock his lights out.'' The 61-year-old star added that she hoped the public would vote...

Celebrity Big Brother's Leslie Jordan and Kellie Maloney have been recruited as Celebrity Agents for the latest task.
The pair have been tasked with casting their fellow housemates in various roles, with the rest of the house taking part in auditions.
Two celebrities will audition for each job, and then Leslie and Kellie must choose the best candidate to put forward.
All auditions will be made available to view on social media sites and if they accrue enough hits collectively, housemates will pass the task.
Today, Claire King and Frenchy will go up against each other as CGI actors, and will audition for a part in a Hollywood film. They will both wear a green motion capture suit and will have to follow directions.
White Dee and George Gilbey must try to find their hidden talents as they audition for a part in a new talent show, while James Jordan...

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gary Busey got on the wrong side of James Jordan yesterday after suggesting he is gay.
Gary started off the day well, telling Big Brother in the Diary Room that he is having the best time he's had in all his life.
"It's a unique and special place to be with 13 wonderful people with solid identities and big hearts," he said, explaining he wanted to give people a good feeling about themselves.
Gary also learned about black pudding - and asked what it would do to his genitalia - and amused himself by wearing a wig and asking if anyone had seen Gary.
However, signs of tension were visible as James told Big Brother that he believed people would get offended by Gary, even though he found him funny himself.
Later in the day, when Leslie Jordan put on some white surgical gloves to go through the 'Duchess's' suitcase,...

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Gary Busey has claimed that he was visited by Patrick Swayze's spirit recently.
Busey - who worked with Swayze on the movie Point Break - opened up about his experience during a chat with fellow housemate James Jordan yesterday (August 18).
"[Patrick Swayze] came through me the other day," he said. "I've been to the other side, after my death... so I have a connection to that spiritual world."
Busey certainly seemed to make an impact on the group, with Leslie Jordan paying tribute to his "amazing brain" in the Diary Room.
"It's probably his blessing and his curse," he added. "You don't know where he's headed, but he's on his best behaviour."
However, hints of tension were visible as noisy housemates woke up Gary during the night - prompting him to "shh" them.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight (August 19) at 10pm on Channel 5.

Celebrity Big Brother kicked off last night and was typically bonkers. Well, we wouldn't have it any other way, really, would we? The 14 famous faces that made their way into the house may have varying levels of, er, fame, but they also seem likely to keep us very entertained indeed over the next four weeks. Bring it on!
It's probably too early to really have any firm opinions about the newbies, but you can't help but have a first impression on night one, can you? So here is our ranking of the housemates from worst to best so far, which we reserve the right to change in, like, an hour...
14. Ricci Guarnaccio
Hard to be both offensive and boring in one fell swoop. Ricci seems to manage it.
13. Lauren Goodger
Oh goodie, another Towie girl. Loses points for the outfit, but at least she seems nice enough. So far.
12. James Jordan
