Following an announcement on Twitch, J-Novel Club has revealed its latest lineup of light novel and manga licenses, including the original novel and the manga adaptation of The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World . There's a healthy mix of J-Novel Club and J-Novel Heart titles going live with the first parts today, so let's see what's on the way. Light Novels The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World by Kiichi Kosuzu with illustrations by Yuunagi Synopsis: Betrayed by his allies and on the verge of death, the strongest exorcist, Haruyoshi Kuga, desired only one thing—to be happy in his next life. Using the secret art of reincarnation, he was transported to another world. Reborn as Seika Lamprogue, third son of a distinguished family of magic scholars, he’s found to have no magical power whatsoever, which is an unacceptable shame in a family of mages.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War was an original story that served as a sequel to Justice League Dark. The film served as the finale to the Dcau, which was then rebooted into the Tomorrow-verse. The film deals with some pretty heavy subject matter, concerning the end of the timeline as we knew it.
A still from Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
Given how dark the film was, screenwriter Ernie Altbacker talked to Sci-Fi Now about what it meant for the studio, and how much free reign the creators were given for the movie, given that it was an original script and an original story that did not have any connection to the comics.

Netflix’s anthology series “Black Mirror” has a pretty impressive BAFTA record, amassing a total of 24 nominations at both the BAFTA TV Awards and the BAFTA TV Craft Awards since 2012. Like the Creative Arts Emmys, the Craft Awards are dedicated to honoring the below-the-line categories. This year’s Craft Awards, which were just held on Sunday, added to the BAFTA record of “Black Mirror” by awarding them five nominations and two victories (more on those wins later).
Specifically, it was the fifth and final episode of the sixth season of “Black Mirror,” “Demon 79” that was nominated. We caught up with several key creatives behind this episode when we attended Sunday’s Craft Awards, which were hosted at the Brewery in East London by British documentarian and TV host Stacey Dooley. There are very few comic book writers who have attained the status of ‘legendary’. Comic book enthusiasts unanimously agree one of them is Alan Moore, who took DC comics to its heights during the 80s and 90s. He revived a number of forgotten supernatural characters, especially through his run with Swamp Thing, such as Spectre, the Demon, the Phantom Stranger, Deadman, and introduced John Constantine.
Watchmen by Alan Moore
Moore’s contribution to the comic book world is immense, and being an industry expert for decades, he knows all the ins and outs. He understands how times have changed, and how several concepts that worked before won’t work today.

There is something to appreciate when horror deviates from the typical slice and dice. Sometimes it involves demonic possessions (Exorcist), blood-thirsty sharks (Jaws), killer dolls (Child’s Play) or even a shape-shifting organism (The Thing). The horror genre has constantly evolved over-time but today we’re going to go totally left field and have a matchup for the ages between the originator and the emulator. One that involves the book of the dead and deadites while the other brings blood-hungry demons, mystical daggers, and roundhouse loving magicians. Yes, it’s all there with plenty to chew on, and there are no qualms about it, well sort of. We have in our Horror Movie Rip-off ring, 1990’s Demon Wind directed by Charles Philip Moore (get it Here) and 1987’s Evil Dead II directed by Sam Raimi (get that one Here). Did Demon Wind rip a page right out of Evil Dead’s Necronomicon for their own,...

Madame Web was one of the most anticipated movies of 2024. There were a lot of expectations from the movie, especially after knowing that it might be connected to Spider-Man’s timeline. But after the first day, the film received a mediocre response from the audience, something which was reflected in the box office results of the movie as well.
On the other hand, Demon Slayer: The Roar of Victory came out two weeks before Madame Web and has been doing a great job at the box office. Even though both of them follow different genres, it is fair to say that Tanjiro and his friends have surpassed Dakota Johnson’s first titular role as a superhero. In simpler words, Madame Web is lagging behind The Roar of Victory.

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village arc has been nominated for Anime of the Year at the 2024 Anime Awards and I couldn't be more excited. Year after year, arc after arc, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba leaves me downright breathless. Fresh from a career-best win over World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, home favorite Alex de Minaur was grilled by a journalist with a question about a marriage proposal.
On Wednesday, De Minaur became the first Australian to beat a reigning World No. 1 on home turf since 1996. Despite a lackluster effort against Djokovic at last year's Australian Open, the man nicknamed "Demon" gave the home fans something to cheer about this time at the United Cup.
A composed performance by de Minaur in Perth, aided by the Serb's injury woes, gave Australia a foothold in the tie, which Ajla Tomljanovic eventually sealed. The host nation will play Saturday's semifinal against Germany in Syndey.
While much of post-match talk was about de Minaur earning the finest win of his career, one curious journalist asked the Aussie whether he was contemplating proposing to his girlfriend Katie Boulter - the top-ranked British woman in the...

Alex de Minaur took on Novak Djokovic at the 2024 United Cup and actually beat him, which was the biggest win of his career.
At the time of the match, Djokovic was number one on the Atp Tour, which means that this was the first time that de Minaur actually beat a reigning world number one.
The match itself has a lot of caveats that should be mentioned, such as Djokovic dealing with a wrist injury that clearly hampered him. He only won one point on the first serve of de Minaur in the entire match and that happened in the final game of the match.
That should tell you that Djokovic was severely hampered. Even so, it was a great moment for de Minaur, and it's quite significant for Australian tennis as well. It's the first time that an Australian man bested the world number one on home soil since 1996.

Alex de Minaur is playing a really tough player in the opening round of the Japan Open , so let's see what might happen.
De Minaur has had an interesting season. In some ways, it's very similar to last year's when you look at the number of wins and losses; however, he did take a step forward this year.
Overall, he's played better and challenged the top guys more often, which a win over Daniil Medvedev proves. He's yet to really hit that next level to secure his spot among the best, but he's one of the more consistent performers across surfaces on the Atp Tour, and that's why he's ranked 11th right now .
He will face Jack Draper in the first round in Tokyo, which isn't ideal, especially since Draper had to play two qualifying matches to get into the main draw .

Serial-killer movies are a dime a dozen these days, with the true-crime industrial complex exploiting the ill-deeds sprees of increasingly obscure murderers to keep up with audience demand. Anyone wary of the genre might balk at the idea of “Strange Darling,” a cat-and-mouse drama about the tail end of a murder spree, but to do so would be to miss out on an exemplar of the form. Writer-director Jt Mollner flips the script on this tired genre, crafting the cleverest thriller of its kind in a while with a mighty assist from a pair of killer performances by co-leads Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner. Best experienced with as little foreknowledge as possible, “Strange Darling” demands a bit of patience, but it also rewards it.
It opens with a title card that reads like a badge of honor — “shot entirely on 35mm film” — followed by a text crawl informing us that...

“Do you have any idea the kind of risks a woman like me takes every time she decides to have a little bit of fun?” So says our female protagonist in writer/director Jt Mollner‘s Strange Darling, a film that dares us to question the roles men and women are expected to play. Are women just prudes who don’t love casual sex? Are men just rapist serial killers waiting for their next mark? What exactly are the boundaries of consent? Strange Darling asks these questions, making for a smarter-than-you’d-expect entry into the cat and mouse thriller genre.

"The Conjuring 2" opens with Ed and Lorraine Warren investigating the infamous Amityville house at 112 Ocean Avenue to determine whether or not a demonic presence caused Ronald DeFeo Jr. to commit familial annihilation and the subsequent supernatural events that plagued the Lutz family after they moved into the home. The couple holds a seance and Lorraine is thrust into a terrifying vision where she encounters a demonic nun.
The Nun appears multiple times throughout the film, until Lorraine rightfully addresses it as Valak, a shape-shifting demon, and condemns it back from which it came. James Wan didn't intend for Valak to be such a major player in The Conjuring Universe — honestly, "The Conjuring" was never supposed to spawn a cinematic universe but the fans demanded it — and didn't originally intend for the demon to take the shape of a nun. But The Nun, portrayed by Bonnie Aarons, was so scary...

The Speed Demon, Alex de Minaur , was rather speedy in his trashing of Alejandro Davidovich Fokina at the 2023 Canadian Open in Toronto.
The Australian is enjoying the best run of his career at an Atp 1000 event as he'll contest the final after taking down Davidovich Fokina. These players know each other really well, they're both long-time residents of Spain and have been familiar with each other for years.
They do play contrasting styles, though, as Davidovich Fokina plays a very aggressive style where he often goes for some pretty crazy shots. It's been going well for him this week , with some impressive wins . De Minaur is more of a player that utilizes his speed to track down balls and builds rallies patiently.
In this clash of styles, it was the more calmer style that prevailed. The opening set was pretty convincing as the Demon won it 6-1 with a pretty balanced approach.

Alex de Minaur proved sensational on grass once more denying Holger Rune his maiden final on the surface with a great performance.
Grass is a very interesting surface where experience probably matters more in comparison to other surfaces. While Rune arguably played on a higher level for much of this year, de Minaur has far more experience on grass. It proved crucial at the 2023 Cinch Championships as Alex de Denial denied Rune his maiden final on grass, much like he denied Murray a Wimbledon seed spot earlier in the week.
Rune started off as the minor favourite in this match but as the starting time approached, the odds shifted in favour of de Minaur and he certainly proved that on the courts. Demon has an Atp trophy on the grass in the past and he also defeated Rune earlier this year.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 11
“Thank goodness, right?”
“Don’t run away from your responsibilities.”
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s third season finale, “A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light,” begins with a fiery threat from Tanjiro to Hantengu: “Don’t run away from your responsibilities.” This may seem like a silly order to command in the height of combat, but it’s the guiding force and larger theme that holds together this finale–and the season as a whole.
The importance of perseverance and never giving up is pretty par for the course with shonen protagonists and it’s hardly a groundbreaking revelation. That being said, it’s still enough to give focus to this finale’s many fighters, whether it’s Nezuko, Tokito, Tanjiro, or even Muzan Kibutsuji. “A Connected Bond: Daybreak and First Light” has its share of highs and lows,...

Bi Gan's last project, “Long Day's Journey Into Night,” was an ambitious, 138-minute feature that became instantly iconic for a nearly hour-long tracking shot filmed entirely in 3D. His latest effort, the aptly-titled “A Short Story,” is a 15-minute cat fable commissioned by a pet company. For most other directors, this shift in focus might result in an easy paycheck or minor stylistic exercise, but Bi turns the quaint concept into a vessel for further formal experimentation. His powers are evident regardless of running time.
A Short Story is screening at Short Shorts Film Festival and Asia
The story takes on the form of a fairy tale, with Bi himself narrating the journey of a Black Cat (Guo Hua Chen; voiced by Huan Huang) who sets out to find the “most precious thing in the world” after a Scarecrow tells him he can locate it if he talks to...

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 8
“You can’t trust the word of a man who died trying to save someone else.”
At its core, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a story about the power of family, which is able to surpass any Breathing Technique or Blood Demon Art. The anime typically presents this unity through Tanjiro and Nezuko. However, Demon Slayer decides that it’s finally time for Muichiro Tokito to break free of his aquatic prison and do something this season. This rise to action on the coattails of ambivalence corresponds to the episode’s title, which interrogates the etymology of Muichiro’s name.
Yuichiro weaponizes the idea that “Mu” comes from “Munou,” which translates to incompetence. Muichiro feels as if his very existence has set him up to not only be inferior to his brother, but fall short in every one of life’s endeavors.

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 6
“I’m the one who’s gonna be a Hashira!”
Over the course of three seasons, Demon Slayer‘s audience has become so invested in Tanjiro’s story because they know just how much he’s lost and exactly what he’s fighting for in this crusade. This isn’t just some empty pursuit to be the best at demon slaying or working out an unhealthy aggression towards monsters. There’s genuine pathos to his quest that adds weight to every swing of his blade. This season has added several new players to this war, many of which don’t have the same depth as the core cast, but “Aren’t You Going to Become a Hashira?” does impressive work to elaborate upon Genya’s complicated past and why he swings the blade. However, these healthy revelations arrive at a...

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 5
“You have no eye for beauty, you damn ape!”
Teamwork is a vital tenet that’s helped the Demon Slayer Corps survive for as long as it has. Tanjiro has never discouraged another warrior’s help on the battlefield, but the battle against Upper Rank Hantengu has been unique in the sense that he’s literally divided himself into four separate fighters. Additionally, Gyokko’s grotesque fish warriors terrorize an entire village in tandem. “Bright Red Sword” marks some of Demon Slayer’s teamwork at its very best in a scenario where everyone contributes to combat in their own way, which unfortunately in this case may cost one member of the group their humanity in the process.
The previous Demon Slayer installment doesn’t struggle to establish the dangers of Hantengu. These threats are still very much a concern in “Bright Red Sword,...

The Pope’s Exorcist is the latest horror film from director Julius Avery, starring Russell Crowe. With Alex Essoe, Franco Nero and Laurel Marsden. Based on the two memoirs written by Father Gabriele Amorth: An Exorcist Tells His Story and An Exorcist: More Stories.
An extravagant horror movie that goes absolutely nowhere, but turns out entertaining and amusing, in part thanks to Russell Crowe who somehow saves the day.
We are not going to get into controversies about the supposed “realism” of the proposal.
Within the genre, decent.
The Pope’s Exorcist Movie review
The best: Russell Crowe and his Italian accent speaking English. It is even “funny” that someone has taken this “seriously” which, apparently, has gone unnoticed.
The movie begins with a warning “be careful, he’s speaking in English”, so we must come to the logical conclusion: he’s possessed. Then there’s the good performance of the...

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 3
“Because helping others eventually ends up being good for me.”
“Demon” is a term that gets thrown around a lot in anime, but right from the start of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba there’s never been any doubt that this series’ take on these monsters doesn’t hold back. There are dozens of battle shonen series that set up clear trajectories where various tiers of demons must be defeated. However, Demon Slayer makes sure that its monsters aren’t just frightening foes, but rather uniquely vexing villains that are legitimately challenging to defeat. Demon Slayer has evolved far beyond the point where decapitations or blade impalings mark the end of a battle. If anything, these drastic acts have become foreplay for the greater difficulties that the Upper Rank Demons pose. “A Sword from Over 300 Years Ago” reminds the...

Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 2
“So what if it breaks down? Just make another one.”
In the world of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba there’s solace to be found in knowing one’s place and embracing this role–whether it’s as a Demon Slayer, swordsmith, or a robotic teaching tool. That being said, there’s a big difference to someone who chooses to stay in their station in life as opposed to an individual who’s told that they’ll never amount to anything more. Muichiro, the Mist Hashira, spends most of “Yoriichi Type Zero” telling swordsmith Kotetsu that he’s destined to fulfill a specific purpose and play his desired role as one of the many cogs in life’s machine. Tanjiro preaches that all of these diverse skills complement each other and that one wouldn’t be possible without the other.

The BBC is reportedly developing a new historical crime series that is being billed as a “spiritual successor” to Peaky Blinders.
Set in early 20th-century Soho, London, the high-budget series would be based on the non-fiction book Dope Girls: The Birth of the British Drug Underground by Marek Kohn.
According to a report in Deadline, the BBC is looking to commission a six-episode series, produced by Bad Wolf Productions, previously responsible for the broadcaster’s adaptation of Phillip Pullman’s His Dark Materials trilogy.
The outlet also reports that Polly Stenham (The Neon Demon) and Alex Warren (Eleanor) are in the process of writing the series.
It is claimed that the series will blend historical fact with storytelling invention, and will focus on the criminal underbelly of old Soho.
At the centre of the story, claims the report, is conservative single mother Kate Meyrick, who builds a nightclub and criminal empire from the ground up.

Alex de Minaur is well-known for his lightning-fast speed and unwavering tenacity on the court but also his nickname 'Demon'.
But how did he come to be known as the 'Demon'? In a recent interview on the Ao Show, De Minaur, who recently won the biggest title of his career, finally revealed the story behind his famous nickname.
It turns out that de Minaur's nickname was actually coined many years ago by one of his old coaches, Ben Pine. The Australian claimed that the nickname was a pun on his surname, which is notoriously challenging to say. It was also a reference to his agility and quickness on the court.
"Well, actually responsible for it is one of my old coaches called Ben Pine a long time ago. It kind of was to do with kind of my speed a little bit. It was a play on words with my surname.
