Exclusive: Sony has added Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard), Bryan Brown (Australia), Darren Barnet (Gran Turismo) and Hadley Robinson (Moxie) to the cast of their as-yet-untitled rom-com from director Will Gluck (Easy A). Sydney Sweeney and Glenn Powell will lead the ensemble, as previously announced, with Alexandra Shipp also featuring.
Details as to the plot of the R-rated comedy are under wraps. But it’s based on a script by Ilana Wolpert that Gluck is re-writing. Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Gluck are producing, with Sweeney exec producing for Fifty-Fifty Films, alongside Natalie Sellers and Alyssa Altman for Rk Films, and Jacqueline Monetta for Olive Bridge.
Perhaps best known for starring opposite Patrick Stewart on Paramount+’s Star Trek: Picard, Hurd has also been seen on series including Blindspot, Lethal Weapon, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Glades, to name a few. Notable film credits include Bad Hair,...

The new year is upon us, and it’s time to clean up Netflix once again. Don’t fear too much though, as much as we hate to see some of our favorites leave Netflix, they do a pretty good job at adding some great new content. We lose Almost Famous, A Clockwork Orange, American Psycho, The Graduate, Planes, Trains and Automobiles and all the Rocky movies – and we get Intolerable Cruelty, Training Day, The Rundown and a new Netflix Original for Degrassi: The Next Class.

Read More: Last Call: 62 Films Leaving Netflix This January (And 10 You Can't Miss) January is notoriously the month when the movies become a dumping ground for ill-faited leftovers, which makes Netflix more essential than ever. Fortunately, the streaming service is handing a handful of promising titles to ring in the new year, which means the lackluster choices at the theater shouldn't stop you from seeing great movies. From Lynne Ramsay's horrifying "We Need to Talk About Kevin" to Patrick Brice's Sundance sex comedy "The Overnight," below are all of the titles hitting Netflix this January, plus Indiewire's personal picks on what to stream. Having come to the conclusion that it's genuinely useful to tell its users what movies will soon be expiring from its service, Netflix now releases a list of the films that will disappear from its coffers (some, presumably, only for a short time) at the end of every month. Here is a list of what will expire on May 1, and in the weeks after. It includes a number of classic rom-coms, as well as the newest James Bond film. Start watching! We will update the list closer to the end of the month with additional titles. (And here's a list of what will be available to stream on Netflix starting May 1.) For the countless fans of the Leone-spangled, Morricone-adorned legacy of the great Spaghetti Westerns, it’s tough to accept that the revolver-toting sub-genre of decades past has died a death. Given a fitting and wonderful send-off by Eastwood’s Unforgiven, Andrew Dominic’s immaculate The Assassination of Jesse James and a classy remake of the 3:10 to Yuma have still failed to reignite a widespread interest in the days of saddles and frontiers. It’s rather sad, but the fact is people just aren’t that interested in cowboys any more. I don’t see them coming back any time soon, either, and A Million Ways to Die in the West certainly hasn’t convinced me otherwise.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked Ted – Seth MacFarlane’s previous venture into feature length film – quite a bit. Its gross-out humour and numerous profanities failed to cover up the old-school,...
