The cast of Daisy Jones & The Six were set to take the stage once again according to series star Suki Waterhouse.
Waterhouse shared in a YouTube vlog on Thursday from the 2023 Lollapalooza festival that she along with the cast, which also included Sam Claflin, Riley Keough, Josh Whitehouse, Sebastian Chacon and Will Harrison, were supposed to perform at the Chicago-based music festival last summer.
“That whole thing was planned, we got people visas, like, it was an operation. And then the SAG strike happened, so we all decided that we should not perform at Lollapalooza,” the actress and singer recalled. Amid the strike, guidelines stated that the union’s affected members would be prohibited from all principal on-camera work — including acting, singing, dancing and stunts — on top of off-camera work, such as voice-acting and narration. All promotional activity such as interviews, award shows and podcasts were also not allowed by union members at the time.

How did “Daisy Jones and the Six,” the 10-part Amazon Prime Video Series, come together? Executive producer Lauren Neustadter, who serves as film and television president at Hello Sunshine – the production company in which she’s partnered with Reese Witherspoon – credits her husband Scott Neustadter for finding and wanting to adapt the Taylor Jenkins Reid novel in 2019. “He read the book and fell madly in love with it,” she recalls., “and he bet on our production company . I remember he received it on Friday of that Fourth of July weekend. By the time we had dinner, he’d finished it. I stayed up well into the night reading and I remember emailing Reese and saying, ‘I know you’re on vacation, but I need you to take your iPad to the beach. By the time I woke up, she was halfway through the book and we were like, ‘We have to do this.

Sam Claflin as Billy Dunne, Daisy Jones & the Six (Prime Video)
Claflin had no trouble slipping into the intense feelings of ’70s-era singer Billy Dunne. “Emotions were so on the edge for me at the time,” says Claflin. “Previously when I’d shot emotional scenes, I’ve needed a tear stick to help push me over the edge. But on Daisy, I didn’t need one ounce of help.”
For Claflin, it was partially his own divorce that still loomed over him, but also the fact that star-crossed love was not an unfamiliar concept. “I have experienced unrequited love, the chasing and the inability of making certain decisions in certain moments,” he says. “There were so many conversations between Billy and Camila (Camila Morrone), or Billy and Daisy (Riley Keough), that I have experienced firsthand or seen friends go through.”

Stevie Nicks is elaborating on why Prime Video hit Daisy Jones & The Six had her feeling “like a ghost watching my own story.”
In a new interview with Vulture, the Fleetwood Mac singer discussed how the show’s stars Riley Keough and Sam Claflin captured the essence of her creative relationship with fellow Fleetwood Mac member Lindsey Buckingham. The interview follows Nicks tweeting her response to the show, which was adapted from Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel, while watching the series back in August. Reid has previously said that she pulled from several ’70s bands for inspiration, including Fleetwood Mac.
While discussing the eerie similarities between her own life and what she was seeing onscreen, Nicks pointed to one specific element of Keough and Claflin’s dynamic as the biggest reason why she saw herself in their relationship.

For a writer whose specialty was his mad rush of words — careening, excessive, gloriously offensive and thoroughly “gonzo,” to use a word he may well have coined — Hunter S. Thompson has long been an irresistible image to put on screen. He was played by Johnny Depp in “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” Bill Murray in “Where the Buffalo Roam” and a few others, and now it’s Willem Dafoe’s turn in Patricia Arquette’s directorial debut, “Gonzo Girl.”
Rather, it’s Dafoe’s turn to play somebody like Hunter S. Thompson. In the movie, which had its world premiere on Thursday night as one of the opening-night attractions of the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, Dafoe is “Walker Reade,” a wild-eyed journalist and author who lives in Woody Creek, Colorado and loves guns, drugs, alcohol and messing with people — not necessarily in that order. The music came first. Before actors were hired and before directors and designers and crew members came on board, “Daisy Jones & the Six,” the limited series from Amazon’s Prime Video, hired music supervisor Frankie Pine, who brought in a list of music producers that included songwriter-producer Blake Mills. Pine got the job, Mills got the job and the production got to work creating the rock milieu of late 1960s through late 1970s Los Angeles.
“We wanted to make sure that ‘Daisy Jones & the Six’ fit within that time period,” Pine said. “We wanted our music to stand out on its own, but we also wanted it to stay within the palette of that time. I wanted...

When Kim Davis-Wagner and Justine Arteta signed on to cast the television adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s blockbuster rock ’n’ roll novel Daisy Jones & The Six, they knew they were up against the pressure of re-creating the magic of a beloved piece of IP — but they were also up against A Star Is Born. The Lady Gaga-starring musical drama hit theaters in 2018, and the industry was still captivated with the idea of seeing pop stars on the big screen. “The thinking was, there have to be other musicians [like Lady Gaga] who could be that good at acting,” says Arteta. “We knew that was possible, but really rare.”
Instead, the duo — who have been working together for over 30 years, getting their start in music videos before cutting their teeth on features like Never Been Kissed and Being John Malkovich — followed their instincts straight to Riley Keough. The actress (who is...

Earlier this year, the Prime Video streaming service released the ten episode series Daisy Jones & The Six (watch it Here), based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid – a novel that was partially inspired by the complicated issues Fleetwood Mac band members Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks dealt with behind the scenes. It isn’t directly the Fleetwood Mac story, but comparisons are unavoidable. And now Nicks has taken to social media to share what she thought of the Prime series. In short, she loved it!
Developed for television by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, Daisy Jones & The Six has the following synopsis: In 1977, Daisy Jones & The Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two heat seeking missiles in Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne, the band had risen from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out...

Novel-turned-Prime Video series Daisy Jones & the Six is about a fictional 1970s rock band, but anyone familiar with music history could guess the musical drama is based on the tumultuous career of Fleetwood Mac. Even Stevie Nicks agrees, as she has now given the show her stamp of approval.
“Just finished watching @daisyjonesand6 for the 2nd time. Riley Keough portrays Daisy Jones — the co-lead singer and songwriter of the titular band — in the series, while Sam Claflin portrays the group’s other frontperson, Billy Dunne. Taylor Jenkins Reid, who wrote the original novel, has...

Singer Stevie Nicks said that rewatching “Daisy Jones & the Six,” which is set in the Los Angeles music scene of the 1970s, was “very emotional” and that she wished her Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie, who died in November 2022, could have seen it.
Nicks also said she wants another season of the show.
The Prime Video series stars Riley Keough as singer/songwriter Daisy Jones, and the 75-year-old singer said that she saw herself in the character.
“Just finished watching Daisy Jones + the 6 for the 2nd time. In the beginning, it wasn’t really my story, but Riley seamlessly, soon became my story,” Nicks wrote on Instagram and Twitter on Tuesday.

Daisy Jones & The Six star Sam Claflin arrived at his final audition to play fictional 1970s rock star Billy Dunne without, by his own admission, the strongest grasp on the type of musician he was expected to embody.
His future showrunners had already taken a shine to the dimpled British actor, as had music supervisor Frankie Pine and producer Hello Sunshine’s president Lauren Neustadter, but one last hurdle remained before he could land the male lead in Amazon’s hot adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel of the same name. He had to sing live for the project’s music producers, Blake Mills and Tony Berg. Pine gave Claflin a shot of moonshine to soothe his nerves. It’s still unbelievable to think that Riley Keough didn’t have any real singing experience before starring in Amazon Prime Video’s “Daisy Jones & the Six.” Actually, most of the cast didn’t — which makes the tremendous sound of the band all the more impressive. “Daisy Jones & the Six” did what few other shows have done (perhaps “The Monkees” being the other most notable): turned a group of actors playing characters in a band… into an actual band.
But back to Keough for a second. Yeah, every story about her and “Daisy Jones” says the same thing: What? She hadn’t sang before? But she’s Rock Royalty. Some might argue it’s in the genes, but that’s just a fraction of it. Don’t sell Keough short. It was hard work and talent. And a lot more hard work. Keough and the “Daisy Jones & the Six...

Prime Video’s “Daisy Jones and the Six” ends with a look that says more than an entire monologue could express. After years of estrangement, former band members and creative soulmates Daisy Jones (Riley Keough) and Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) reunite to fulfill one of the last wishes of Billy’s late wife, Camila (Camila Morrone). When Billy knocks on Daisy’s front door, he greets her with a smile; she, in response, has a look of reticence that slowly melts into a grin before the series smash cuts to the final credits.
Co-creator Scott Neustadter has compared the ending to “The Graduate.” “I hate happy endings,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m really allergic to happy endings but I really love hopeful endings. To me, there was a lot of hope at the end of the book. [‘Daisy Jones’ author Taylor [Jenkins Reid] and I both have talked about this a lot and we...

Is Daisy Jones & The Six a cliché of ‘70s rock’n’roll, or a fresh reimagination of the novel of the same title? Critics are split, but for country artist Maren Morris, the series gets a few key things right. The Prime Video limited series follows the rise and fall of a fictional band modeled after Fleetwood Mac.
Daisy (Riley Keough) is a troubled aspiring star with a knack for songwriting. Frontman Billy Dunne (Sam Claflin) is seeking to redeem himself when he and The Six are stiff-armed into collaborating with Daisy, who eventually joins the band. The collaboration of Daisy’s lyrical prowess and stage presence combined with Billy’s magnetism and drive to overcome his demons create a powder keg of emotion that is enthralling, if a bit predictable.

“Daisy Jones & the Six” has taken its final bow both within the show and on the small screen.

Spoiler Alert! This post contains details from the finale of Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six.
Daisy Jones & The Six have taken their final bow.
The curtains closed on the Prime Video series Friday with the release of the final two episodes. They are two of the series’ most ambitious episodes, with the finale weaving together the band’s last performance and what went down to propelled them to the point of no return.
Episode 9 begins on a tense note, as Daisy (Riley Keough) wakes up from her drug overdose with her husband Nicky by her side. But, of course, she remembers that Nicky wasn’t actually there for her in her time of need. She storms over to Billy’s (Sam Claflin) room to demand he tell her why Nicky wasn’t there to help her. While we don’t see exactly what Billy says, we can...

There's no denying Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne were a match made in songwriting heaven. But past that, the central characters of "Daisy Jones & The Six" were always destined to clash to the point of ruin—and the proof is in the foreshadowing embedded in every line of the very first song Daisy and Billy (the enigmatic Riley Keough and Sam Claflin) collaborated on, "Honeycomb." The song is at once a look at a romance crumbling at the seams and an epitaph for a connection that, at the time of its writing and recording, had barely just begun.
"Honeycomb" was the first song the group worked on as a newly formed band called Daisy Jones & The Six, bringing together Daisy Jones the solo artist and The Six, a band of five formerly known as The Dunne Brothers. Billy brought his version of the song, one that he wrote long before...

Since its March 3 premiere, Daisy Jones & the Six has been headline-making for many reasons — the fan anticipation of seeing one of the highest-selling books (one million and counting) of the past few years finally pivot to the small screen, the staggering amount of original music performed by the cast, the uncanny resemblance of lead Riley Keough to her late mother. For star Will Harrison, who plays Six member Graham Dunne, the Prime Video show is most notable because it was one of his very first auditions out of his Bfa program.
“I actually heard about it because my friend was working for the casting office and thought I could be good for the show,” Harrison tells The Hollywood Reporter. “They were doing a worldwide search for Billy Dunne, so I was like 20 years old auditioning for the role that went to Sam Claflin, which was never going to work out.

When it comes to songwriters penning brutal songs about the exes that broke their hearts, their former lovers' punishment is usually limited to hearing the breakup track played incessantly on the radio (like Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift's "All to Well"). However, in Amazon Prime Video's "Daisy Jones & The Six," a TV adaptation of the Taylor Jenkins Reid book of the same name, Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne - the kindred spirits and warring lead singers of the fictional title band - have an intense, forbidden chemistry that's only heightened by the fact that they write their most brutal lyrics about each other and force the other to sing them on tour in front of thousands of fans.
Reid made no secret of the fact that her book about the rise and fall of a 1970s rock band was partly based on Fleetwood Mac.

Daisy Jones & the Six is a new series airing on Amazon Prime Video. The 1970s soft rock mockumentary presents the titular band as if they were a real Fleetwood Mac-esque project. And yes, that means the series is stacked with all the nearly unbelievable romantic drama that comparison entails.
But not all of Daisy Jones is simply a retelling of the creation of an album like Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours. There’s an original story weaved around that inspiration, pulling from other famous musicians from the era. Actor Sebastian Chacon adds to the color of the series by taking his inspiration from a genre outside of rock entirely.

But the adaptation of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 novel also uses the careers of other important artists of the era for inspiration.
