- Paula Hawkins was born on August 26, 1972 in Salisbury, Rhodesia. She is a writer and producer, known for The Girl on the Train (2016), Into the Water and Blind Spot.
- Worked for 15 years as a financial journalist in London (UK) until the recession of 2008 struck and forced her to diversify. Under the pseudonym Amy Silver (see "Other Works") she turned out four romance novels that didn't pay the bills until her breakthrough novel "The Girl On the Train" became the fastest-selling adult novel in history to its release.
