- Cris once ran 55km around the 4 day Wilson Promontory bush walk on a whim in 10 hours.
- Cris has graded at many martial arts to an expert level including Taekwondo and Esgrima (Filipino sticks- both single and double stick) as well as 30 plus years over all training including Togakure ninjitsu,Irish stick (the Shillelagh), Fudoshin Ryu, kick boxing, Highland broadsword and dirk, bokken, hanbo and bo.
- Cris can read and speak Scottish Gaelic to an intermediate level, and read Irish Gaelic at a basic level.
- His sons Kieran and Noah are also an actor, they have appeared together 18 times thus far; starting with shared lead roles with another actor in the short film "Refuge" in which Kieran and Cris played father and son. Support and leads roles as father and son/s, support roles as younger and older versions of the same character, in film, TVC's and music videos.
- Known for doing his own stunts; fighting and martial arts, falls, driving/riding, rope work, aquatic stunts. Two notable examples are the hanging scene in the 'Sentinal' "Nadir" music video where Cris rigged and performed the hanging by the neck scene himself, and a drowning scene. In both instances Cris performed and directed the safety of the scenes to ensure realism and performance. Cris has also rigged another hanging scene for fellow actor in a soon to be released music video.
- Cris only has a dimple in one cheek (his left), the result of falling out of a tree as a child- his wife refused to believe it wasn't natural until he showed her before and after pictures.
- Cris has performed full frontal nudity as an artist/life model in a drama/thriller feature film; reflecting his past as a fine arts student and a life model.
- Has worked with Director Addison Heath of Black Forest Films in two feature films ('Mondo Yakuza' and 'The Perfect Nonsense' all dialogue improvised), one short film ('Drive By') and is preproduction for his latest feature 'The Shinjuku Five'.
Has worked with Director Nick Kozakis of Visible Studio on the feature film 'Plague' and the short film 'Hunter'.
Has worked with Director Stewart Marshall of Venom Rat Productions on the feature film 'Red Sky Candidate 5238', and the short film 'Punisher of broken oaths'.
Has worked with Director Luke Creely of Primitive Films on the long (35 minute) short film 'Playground' (all dialogue improvised), and the short film 'Juncture' which required 2 hours of make up time each day.
Has worked with Director Glen Cook of Lone Viking on two short films for the Melbourne 48 hour film festival ('Up Turd Lane' and 'Her favourite place'), both times performing with son Kieran Cochrane.
Has made two music videos with Director Tobias Willis for musician Ben Wright Smith, 'No one' in which Cris choreographed all of the martial arts, and 'Born yawning', in which he performed with sons Noah and Kieran Cochrane.
