Blood of Zeus season 1 had proven to the fans that Netflix is more than capable of making a captivating anime. Now Charles and Vlas Parlapanides return for the second season of the series. While the first season focused primarily on Heron and Zeus, their bittersweet relationship, and the wrath of Hera; the sequel season takes a major tonal shift while honoring the legacy of the King of Gods.

This article contains spoilers for Blood of Zeus season 2.
Netflix has increasingly become the top place to turn for hard-hitting adult animation and Blood of Zeus immediately made waves upon its 2020 release. The Powerhouse Animation production remixes Greek mythology into an engrossing dark fantasy that feels like God of War meets Game of Thrones. Heron, the demigod son of Zeus, embarks on a bold and bloody journey for identity, autonomy, and authority that concludes the first season on an apocalyptic note where supernatural Giants storm Olympus and challenge its Gods. Blood of Zeus season 2 reaches such extreme heights that its freshman year almost seems quaint in comparison.
Zeus’ tragic death precipitates a terrifying power vacuum that throws Olympus into unprecedented chaos and lights a fire under Hades to steal his brother’s throne and claim what he believes to be his birthright. The growing war between Hades and Zeus, and Heron and Seraphim,...

When Wattpad Webtoon Studios was preparing to release the drama “Float” this year, author Kate Marchant asked for a little help from her fans. The Lionsgate film was based on her story, and now she presented three movie posters to her followers, asking them to pick their favorite.
“I can feel your readers shifting in their seats,” Aron Levitz, president of Wattpad Webtoon Studios, says with a laugh. “All those creative execs are going, ‘Wait a minute, people knew about it before it went out? Are you sure that’s Ok?’”
For Levitz, the answer is a resounding yes. His company is shaking up the traditional approach to creating film and TV adaptations by putting the power in the hands of fans.
Just last month, the third movie in the “Through My Window” series, adapted from Wattpad author Ariana Godoy’s webnovels, dominated the Netflix film charts, amassing 14 million views...

The season finale of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” brought the debut of the King of the Gods himself, stolen lightning bolt and all — Zeus, played by the late Lance Reddick. And, according to series star Walker Scobell, Reddick was a lot like the God of Thunder, in that “his presence demands respect.”
In the final episode of the season, now streaming on Disney+, Percy Jackson (Scobell) manages to make it up to Olympus to return Zeus’ stolen bolt. Alas, Zeus doesn’t care about the fact that Percy didn’t steal it, nor that he brought it back. He’s preparing for war regardless, and Percy only gets to leave because he brought the news of Kronos attempting to return.
Unsurprisingly, Reddick makes for the perfect Zeus, and Scobell readily agrees. Looking back on working with the actor, Scobell remained reverent of the actor beloved for “The Wire” and “John Wick.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers for the season finale of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” now streaming on Disney+.
The first season of the long-awaited “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on Disney+ has come to a close, and it ended the same way Rick Riordan’s first book did: Percy (Walker Scobell), Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) and Grover (Aryan Simhadri) part ways before the school year, knowing that they’ll reunite in the not-so-distant future with a bit more world-saving to do. But the journey to get there was often unpredictable, even for fans of the novel.
Most notably, Percy fails his quest. He and his friends miss the summer solstice deadline to find and return Zeus’ (the late Lance Reddick) stolen master lightning bolt, kicking off a war between Zeus and Poseidon (Toby Stephens) — and marking the series’ biggest departure from the book. Still, the kids plunge...

They say never to meet your childhood heroes. Even the fictional ones don’t always hold up — problematic creators, disappointing endings, stories that don’t stand the test of time — and the inevitable adaptations of those juggernaut stories risk falling flat and failing to capture the magic of the original.
But fans of Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” novels — both new and old, as there is sure to be an uptick — can rejoice in the knowledge that “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” now streaming on Disney+, is more than worthy of its source material and the massive mythology behind it. Riordan himself co-created and executive produces the series along with Jon Steinberg, the pair of them extensively involved in production and writing. For adults who discovered Percy back in 2005 or new generations joining the quest with time to spare (a seventh novel is slated for 2024 publication), this hero is one worth meeting.

As you may have heard, the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con International was not the usual Sdcc experience.
On July 14, the American actors’ union SAG-AFTRA joined their writing counterparts in the WGA by going on strike and picketing the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for its refusal to grant them a fair deal. Since the details of the strike preclude actors and writers from promoting their union-backed films and TV shows, many of the planned panels, promotions, and guests at Comic-Con had to bow out.
The end result was a Con that very much resembled the event’s earlier days before it became a action item on the calendar for big studios like Marvel, DC, and others to showcase their upcoming blockbusters. And you know what? It was all still pretty cool!

Lance Reddick's death has left what feels like a sudden and instant hole in the film and TV industry. The actor is rightfully being remembered for his turns in everything from "John Wick," to "The Wire," to "The Eric Andre Show," but I think one of his most exciting roles was still ahead of him. The actor sadly passed away with several projects in the works, but one of the most highly-anticipated was "Percy Jackson & The Olympians," which wrapped filming on season 1 last month.

No demigod story would be complete without a couple of temperamental Gods to make life unnecessarily difficult! After months of secret-keeping, Disney has finally pulled back the curtain on two of the most prominent Gods in their "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series. That's right — we finally have a Zeus and a Poseidon, both of which are perfect. Lance Reddick is stepping up as the King of the Gods himself, Zeus. And in the role of Percy's father, Poseidon, is the swashbuckling "Black Sails" alum Toby Stephens.
Sorry, longtime Percy Jackson fans. Logan Lerman is not returning to the world of monsters and Gods as Poseidon. Sure, that might've made for a poetic full-circle moment since he played Percy in the godawful 2010 movie adaptation, but it just wasn't meant to be. We can still hold out for a cameo though, or maybe even a different godly spot for Lerman to fill.

Rio de Janeiro, Dec 30 (Ians) Tributes flowed for Brazilian football legend Pele following his death from cancer at the age of 82.
Pele’s passing dominated news headlines in Brazil and across South America on Friday.
“Pele showed the power of sport and set a new limit to fame,” the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper said, referring to his status as an icon of the 20th century.
It also highlighted Pele’s role in temporarily halting Nigeria’s civil conflict as the warring parties signed a two-day ceasefire in 1969 to accommodate a friendly match featuring the famous No. 10.
“The superstar enchanted with his football stopped wars and changed the game forever,” Folha de S.Paulo’s Juca Kfouri wrote.
The newspaper praised Pele’s ability to maintain impossibly high standards over a professional career that started in his mid-teens and extended until his mid-30s.
“During his 20-year career, teams changed.
