New Delhi, Aug 17 (Ians) On paper, India’s T20Is against Ireland from August 18 are less significant than the Men’s Odi World Cup happening from October 5 to November 19. But the comebacks of Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna in the T20I series is an important boost for India’s fast-bowling options from the Odi World Cup perspective.
Both Bumrah and Prasidh underwent back surgeries and did their rehab at the National Cricket Academy (Nca) in Bengaluru. They played some practice games and are now almost ready to play international cricket again.
Lakshmipathy Balaji is interested in seeing how Bumrah and Prasidh perform in the upcoming T20Is against Ireland, especially with the Odi World Cup on the horizon. Balaji, the former India fast-bowler, himself had a stress fracture in the back in 2007.

Is it ever truly possible to escape one’s past? Can you really alter the course of your life and begin again, fresh and brand new? Does despair and violence stick to your soul, much like gum on the bottom of your shoe (the Warrens used this metaphor to great effect in the original Conjuring when talking about demonic presences)? Many films have pondered this questions over the years, everything from Straw Dogs to First Blood to The Unforgiven. This new work adds a few twists to this idea, including culture clashes, and living a lie in order to deceive the authorities. At the story’s center is a desperate stranger in a strange land, a man named Dheepan.
The story begins at an ending, the ending of the bloody civil war in Sri Lanka. After torching a pile of bodies, one tired Tamir fighter takes off his “camo” and...

As we head ever closer to this year’s Cannes Film Festival (one of the most intriguing lineups in a handful of years, I will add), the 2015 Cannes lineup feels like a distant memory. However, arguably the festival’s biggest debut, winner of its highest prize the Palme d’Or, is finally arriving in theaters stateside.
Entitled Dheepan, this Tamil-language drama comes from beloved filmmaker Jacques Audiard (A Prophet) and shocked the festival last year by stealing the biggest prize seemingly out of nowhere. The most prestigious of awards on the festival circuit, the Palme d’Or brings with it not just expectations but expectations of greatness that few films have the ability to live up to. But thankfully, decide a problematic final sequence, Audiard’s film does exactly that.

Exclusive: Stars of Jacques Audiard’s Cannes winner to lead new feature, which is set to shoot in India later this year.
The two stars of Jacques Audiard’s Dheepan are to reunite on screen for a Tamil-language feature, written and directed by Arun Karthick.
Antonythasan Jesuthasan and Kalieaswari Srinivasan revealed their involvement in the upcoming film to ScreenDaily at the Sarajevo Film Festival, where Palme d’Or winner Dheepan played to a packed audience at the city’s Open Air cinema on Saturday (Aug 15).
The film, titled Aasai Mugam (literal translation Dearest Face), centres on two brothers at war over their ancestral farmland at the foothills of the Western Ghats mountain range in southern India.
The story is set against the backdrop of brick manufacturers, who pay handsomely to lease agricultural land to mine sand, and cause rifts between families consumed by greed and jealousy.
