Disney+ and Tim Allen are teaming up again to spread some more holiday cheer, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
That's right, folks. We are fast approaching the premiere of The Santa Clauses Season 2.
To celebrate, Disney+ has unveiled the trailer and key art for the six-part second chapter.
"The Calvin family is back at the North Pole, as Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) continues his role as Santa Claus after his retirement plans were thwarted when he failed to find a worthy successor in season one," the logline teases.
"Now that Scott and his family have successfully saved Christmas, Scott turns his focus towards training his son Cal (Austin Kane) to eventually take over the 'family business' as Santa Claus."
In addition to Allen, who will executive produce and reprise the beloved role of Santa/Scott Calvin, the new season stars Elizabeth Mitchell as Mrs. Claus/Carol.

Even though we're not done with Halloween, Disney isn't wasting anytime digging back into the world of Santa Claus with a second season of the Disney+ original series "The Santa Clauses." Tim Allen is back as jolly old Saint Nick, and now he's focusing on turning all the happenings at the North Pole into a family business. Elizabeth Mitchell is still as supportive as ever as Mrs. Claus, Cal Calvin Claus (Austin Kane) is preparing to eventually become Santa Claus at some point with a little Santa training program, and Sandra Calvin Claus is helping out in the background by taking care of the reindeer and whatnot.
Of course, getting the North Pole in shape for Christmas isn't their biggest concern; there's trouble brewing in the form of another Santa Claus. Eric Stonestreet ("Modern Family") is playing Magnus Antas or The Mad Santa. Apparently, he thinks Scott Calvin's version...

It's kind of baffling that "The Santa Clause" is one of those franchises that's still going on today. It feels like something we should be talking about in hushed whispers. Like, "Hey, remember that Disney movie where Tim Allen commits manslaughter against Santa Claus and then undergoes a Cronenbergian physical transformation into Jolly Old St. Nick after inadvertently entering a contractual agreement to take his place? The '90s were wild, man." To be fair, I'm sure even Allen had no idea he would still be playing the cynical toy marketing director turned fabled gift-giver Scott Calvin almost 30 years after starring in the original "Santa Clause".
Yet, here we are in 2023, with season 2 of the Disney+ sequel series "The Santa Clauses" right around the corner. Season 1, much like the feature-length "Santa Clause" sequels before it, was far from a critical darling, but it absolutely has its supporters and brought in...

Where’s Yelena Belova when you need her to take the piss out of Santa Claus for his version of the “superhero landing?” If it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, it’s because department stores are out of control by lining aisles with Christmas trees before the best holiday, Halloween, has a chance to shine. Additionally, Disney+ is proud to announce its November 8 premiere date for The Santa Clauses Season 2! Alongside The Santa Clauses Season 2 premiere date, the mouse-eared streaming service debuted new art for the Holly Jolly series, featuring Tim Allen’s Santa Claus poised for action as the busiest night of the year approaches.

Exclusive: The Santa Clauses needed someone to play the Easter Bunny in season two, so they went to the only person who could truly embody the cuddly part: the inimitable Tracy Morgan.
The casting of Morgan marks a reunion, of sorts, for the comedian and Santa Clauses creator Jack Burditt; the two worked together on 30 Rock. It’s unclear, for now, how Morgan’s character will hop into the plot.

Eric Stonestreet, who comes off as a big teddy bear in ABC’s Modern Family, is about to get angry. Stonestreet is joining the cast of The Santa Clauses Season 2 as Magnus Antas, otherwise known as the Mad Santa. This not-so-jolly Christmas-themed character reigned in the 14th century and is returning to take Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) off the board and reclaim the North Pole. What a jerk! I thought Santa was supposed to be nice!
In The Santa Clauses Season 2, the Calvin family returns to the North Pole after Scott’s retirement plan falls apart faster than Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree in a soft breeze. After failing to find a successor, but still saving Christmas, Scott begins training his son Calvin to eventually take over the “family business” as Santa Claus.
The Santa Clauses Season 2 is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios, and is currently in production.

CBS has started to pare down its returning series slate for next season, cancelling comedy The Unicorn‘s after two seasons. It is one two sophomore series the network won’t be bringing back, along with drama All Rise. Two other CBS bubble series, Seal Team and Clarice, are eying a move to Paramount+.
From the get-go, the single-camera Unicorn, starring Walton Goggins, has been, well, an unicorn, on CBS, not quite fitting into the network’s traditional sitcom mold.
Yet, the series, which was well received by critics and features one of the strongest comedy casts on TV, had big fans at the highest ranks at CBS, which helped it snag a Season 2 renewal last year for a limited midseason run, which concluded in March.
The Unicorn’s linear ratings were among the lowest on CBS but its Live+Same Day delivery was actually higher than that for the renewed S.

Both “All Rise” and “The Unicorn” have been canceled at CBS after two seasons each. “All Rise” is set to air its final episode at the end of May, while “The Unicorn” wrapped up in March.
The move to cancel “All Rise” comes less than two months after series creator and co-showrunner Greg Spottiswood was fired from the series following a probe into allegations of race and gender issues in the show’s writer room.
“All Rise” dealt with the lives and relationships of the judges, lawyers, clerks, and law enforcement officers who work at the Los Angeles County Courthouse. Simone Missick starred as newly appointed judge Lola Carmichael, with Wilson Bethel, Marg Helgenberger, Jessica Camacho, J. Alex Brinson, Lindsay Mendez, Ruthie Ann Miles, Lindsey Gort, and Audrey Corsa. Dee Harris Lawrence, Len Goldstein and Michael Robin were executive producers. Warner Bros. Television produced.

New Delhi, Nov 10 (Ians) This year, Diwali fervour will stream onto your Ott screens rather than come alive on the big screen, owing to the ongoing pandemic. An explosion of new content to keep you hooked is being readied to drop on digital platforms, to mark the festival of lights.
"Post re-opening of theatres, there will be a settling period for viewers to gain trust, and confidence on the safety levels, to encourage them to step out to watch their favourite big event movie. OTTs are the best alternative in the current situation. Hence, viewership numbers may witness an upward trend on Ott platforms (during the festive season)," Chandrashekar Mantha, Partner, Deloitte India, told Ians.

CBS’ The Unicorn introduced us to a different kind of a magical creature on Thursday.
The new comedy stars Walton Goggins (Justified) as Wade, a widowed father of two daughters who is still living off neighbors’ frozen lasagnas and casseroles nearly a year after his wife’s death. His married friends — Michaela Watkins (Casual) and Rob Corddry (Ballers) play one pair, while Omar Miller (Ballers) and Maya Lynne Robinson (The Conners) make up the other — are concerned that Wade has let himself and his life go. Then there’s also the worrisome way that Wade seems to be completely oblivious to the fact that Tracy,...

Apple TV Plus this month moved off a project in which Richard Gere was set to play a Vietnam veteran whose life is upended when the woman he loved 50 years ago dies in a car crash. According to the logline for the shelved series, her death leads to his and another character’s “lifelong regrets and secrets” colliding with their “resentment of today’s self-absorbed millennials.” The duo then “go on a shooting spree.” The very next day, Netflix announced a series order for a Kevin James comedy in which the actor plays a Nascar crew chief who “finds himself at odds with tech reliant millennials” when they start working in his garage.
It’s perhaps unsurprising that Apple decided to move on from the Gere project, as a shooting spree partially motivated by hatred of millennials seems hardly in keeping with the tech giant’s general message. However, the...

Its central character, Walton Goggins’s Wade Felton, has been mourning his wife for a year; he and his daughters (Ruby Jay and Makenzie Moss) have reached the stage of acceptance, though the white-hot heat of active grief lifting allows them now to focus on certain confusions they’d been ignoring: How does a family constructed of four people go on, logistically, as three? And what would it mean to make the first, very tentative attempts towards welcoming a new person in?
All of which sounds like the stuff of drama, but “The Unicorn” moves with an easy and light step. Its concerns include learning to talk to daughters about dating and entering the online-matchmaking fray. These plotlines treat every party (from the daughters to the divorcée Wade asks out) with fairness and, crucially, don’t allow Wade to play the bumbling, inept dad. After all, he’s been a...

CBS has ordered seven pilots to series for the 2019-20 season ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers next week. The seven series are made up of four comedies and three dramas.
Among the comedies ordered at the broadcast network are Chuck Lorre’s “Bob Hearts Abishola,” Patricia Heaton’s “Carol’s Second Act” and “Broke” from “Jane the Virgin” creator Jennie Snyder Urman. The Peyton Reed-produced “The Unicorn” with Walton Goggins and Rob Corddry was also picked up.
Heaton starred on CBS’ “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Broke” will see “NCIS” star Pauley Perrette return to the network.
