Margot Robbie’s production company looks set to take on a film based on Avengelyne, a comic book character created by Deadpool’s Rob Liefeld.
If reports are accurate, Booksmart director Olivia Wilde is set to make Avengelyne, a take on the comic book character created by the mind behind Deadpool, Rob Liefeld. It’s the second project Wilde has lined up at Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment.
According to Deadline, 'Avengelyne is an angel who fights the forces of evil and often finds herself face-to-face with demons and monsters. She was the most feared warrior in Heaven’s Warhost, having single-handedly broken into Pandemonium, the outer fortress of Hell, to confront the Devil himself. She is a fallen angel, banished from Heaven by God after being tricked into questioning his love for humans. Avengelyne was stripped of all her angelic abilities, other than her great strength and her blood,...

Could Margot Robbie be bringing the same kind of meta introspection and examination to The Sims in the way she did with Barbie? That is a possibility of what’s to come as her production company, LuckyChap, has taken on the life simulation game for an upcoming feature film. The Sims is an immensely popular game from Maxis, the company that first let gamers play God with the legendary simulator SimCity. While the brand followed up with other similar-natured games like SimFarm, Sim Hospital and SimAnt, it was in 2000 that they gave players the chance to live life in The Sims.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Herron, who is known for her work on the first season of the successful Marvel Studios series on Disney+, Loki, is set to take the helm on the feature. Herron is also attached to co-write the film with Briony Redman. Robbie’s LuckyChap also includes Tom Ackerly,...

The long-running and hugely popular life simulator video game series The Sims is getting the movie treatment and there’s some exciting talent behind the project.
The Sims is set to be adapted into a movie, exploring the lives of its simulated suburban occupants in feature-length, cinematic glory.
Just in case you’ve never come across the popular series of video games published by Electronic Arts, The Sims series of games fall into the life simulator genre, allowing you to create and then oversee the lives of countless suburban residents. If you’ve ever fancied playing God, The Sims essentially allows you to do that, giving you the freedom to be a benevolent overlord (build your sims a new house) or a vengeful deity (burn down your sims’ new house).

George Clooney gave Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling his stamp of approval to play his parents in the upcoming “Ocean’s 11” prequel.
Besides the involvement of the “Barbie” stars, not much is known about the upcoming “Ocean’s” film. However, rumors have been swirling that Robbie and Gosling will portray Danny Ocean’s parents.
“Margot Robbie’s my mother? I’ve always thought that. And Ryan Gosling is my father, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Truly,” Clooney told Variety at “The Boys in the Boat” premiere.
Jay Roach is set to direct the prequel, with Carrie Solomon writing. While Clooney’s early 2000s trilogy took place in Las Vegas, as well the original 1960 film starring the Rat Pack, the new prequel is expected to take place in 1960s Europe. “Ocean’s 8,” the latest film in the franchise, came out in 2018, starring Sandra Bullock as Danny Ocean’s sister.

Dua Lipa presented the Power of Women producer of the year award to LuckyChap Entertainment, the minds behind films and TV series that celebrate women’s stories including “Barbie,” “Promising Young Woman” and “Maid.”
“Since 2014, LuckyChap has been championing female filmmakers,” Lipa said Thursday night at the Variety Power of Women dinner, presented by Lifetime. “This mission is part of the company’s ethos – celebrating female storytellers and strong female characters, and employing female HODs – but if you speak with Margot [Robbie], Tom [Ackerley] and Josey [McNamara] they’ll tell you – it’s just good business.”
“As filmmakers, the LuckyChap team lead with humor, empathy and heart every step of the way,” the singer continued. “They are involved in every facet of their projects — from creating immersive practical environments on set, which became home to a truly epic dance party in the film, to heartful moments where audiences around the world were challenged...

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling’s combined star power helped power “Barbie” to $1.4 billion in worldwide ticket sales, an all-time high gross for distributor Warner Bros. The studio is clearly hoping to duplicate this success with its upcoming “Ocean’s 11” prequel movie, which is set to reunite Robbie and Gosling on the big screen. The film will be the first “Ocean’s” project since the Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett-led “Ocean’s 8” in 2018. Not much is known about the prequel other than the involvement of Robbie, Gosling, director Jay Roach and writer Carrie Solomon.

Margot Robbie wouldn't have signed up for 'Barbie' without Greta Gerwig. The 33-year-old actress has the lead role in the film based on the beloved Mattel doll, and she admitted that she, like many of her co-stars, wouldn't have been on board for the project if it weren't for the director's vision.Speaking at the world premiere of the film at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium, she told Deadline: “I don’t think most of us would’ve been involved if it wasn’t someone like Greta at the helm, but particularly Greta.“What she does with her films… she’s so smart, but she’s also can really deliver on the humour and the emotion and we knew we wanted all of that in a 'Barbie' movie. I can’t imagine anyone else doing it but Greta.”Alexandra Shipp found it "really exciting" to work with the 39-year-old filmmaker.

Samara Weaving has lined up her latest genre project, and hopefully, it'll be less of a bloodbath than 2019's "Ready Or Not." No, actually, I take that back — Samara Weaving kicked butt in that hilarious horror flick, and it would be great to see her gear up for another fight to the death. Weaving is already set to appear in the upcoming sixth "Scream" movie, which will reunite her with "Ready Or Not" directors Tyler Gillett and Mat Bettinelli-Olpin, so why not double down and put her survivalist skills to the test? While her upcoming film isn't quite ticking the horror box, it certainly veers into very familiar territory by telling the story of a woman just barely evading tense circumstances to survive.
Variety reports that Weaving will take center stage in a new comedic thriller, currently in production in Vancouver. Titled "Borderline," the film follows a "helplessly romantic sociopath...

Margot Robbie has excelled at playing real people on screen.
In 2019, she played Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” and the year before, she took on Queen Elizabeth I in “Mary Queen of Scots.” In a career-making performance — for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Oscar — Robbie portrayed disgraced figure skater Tonya Harding in 2017’s “I, Tonya.”
Tackling the role of Kayla Pospisil — an ambitious young Fox News producer who falls prey to Roger Ailes (John Lithgow) — in “Bombshell” presented a much different challenge. Unlike Charlize Theron’s Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman’s Gretchen Carlson, Robbie’s character is fictional, a composite created by screenwriter Charles Randolph to illustrate Ailes’ late-stage sexual harassment and abuse — just before his Shakespearean downfall in the summer of 2016.
“I didn’t understand her to begin with,” Robbie says.
