Following the recent news that Chris Nash's critically-acclaimed slasher movie, In A Violent Nature, will be released unrated later this month, IFC Films has shared a new trailer for the highly-anticipated horror flick.
This latest teaser features quite a bit of intense new footage of Johnny stalking his victims, while also spotlighting some dialogue from the unfortunate soon-to-be very dead teens.
To be honest, it's not nearly as effective as the largely silent previous promos, which really presented the movie as something unique for the genre. This comes across very Friday the 13th, and there's even a nod to I Know What You Did Last Summer ("what are you waiting for? We're right here").
Check out the new trailer below along with some old-school lobby cards, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

In 2017, a video game based on the popular horror franchise Friday the 13th was released. That game and another called Dead by Daylight had an option where you get to stalk players as the killer and try to pick them off one by one. The new IFC Films and Shudder original, In a Violent Nature, takes a similar concept and has the audience experience a slasher movie from the point-of-view of the killer. Writer/Director Chris Nash brings us the twisty premise and IFC Films has released a new trailer for all of us to behold.
Here’s the official synopsis: When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower in the woods that entombs the rotting corpse of Johnny, a vengeful spirit spurred on by a horrific 60-year old crime, his body is resurrected and becomes hellbent on retrieving it. It’s clear from the imagery, the poster, and the description that writer/director Chris Nash’s slasher movie In a Violent Nature, which will be having its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this month, is inspired by backwoods slashers like the Friday the 13th films… but during an interview with Variety, Nash revealed that this one takes a different approach to the backwoods slasher sub-genre, as it focuses on the killer rather than the potential victims and also draws inspiration from the works of Terrence Malick and Gus Van Sant.

"We have to find the beast before more are born." Shudder’s comprehensive “Home for Halloween” line-up this October features the premiere of Dario Argento’s giallo return, ‘Dark Glasses,’ and much more.
Every Halloween, horror fans are presented with a murderer’s row of options when it comes to the perfect place to binge on bloody buffets of seasonal content. Horror programming is unavoidable during this time of year, but some channels and streaming services go above and beyond in terms of what they offer their audience. At this point, acclaimed horror movies and episodes of television shows are the bare minimum and the most promising streaming services find ways to truly celebrate this haunting holiday. Shudder never disappoints when it comes to horror’s biggest holiday, but 2022’s “Home for Halloween” celebration puts past years to shame.
