New horror short “Bitch” will be released just in time for Halloween from Feral Llama Entertainment.
“I really loved working on this project ‘Bitch’ as it’s something outside of the box from what we’ve seen in horror cinema probably since the 60’s and 70’s. Not only is it a play on a female werewolf but doing the special effects practically like this really brings the character to life and gives the actor enough wiggle room to give it a lot of personality as the makeup becomes you in that position. Our makeup team is hopeful to see it become its own series. I love the use of practical effects and its ability to make the audience hold emotion, whether it’s fear or laughter. I think that’s what cinema is all about, making us feel human emotions. I loved it!” -Ariel Stafford

Katy Perry was right that Alejandro Aranda, the 25-year-old humble homie from Pomona, California, did change “American Idol” forever by side-stepping singing cover versions of other people’s hits and instead presenting his own music. Over the course of Season 17, he sang seven of his self-penned tunes, more than any contestant ever. He felt authentic as he put his heart and soul into both his musicianship and his vocals.
But while his insistence on singing his own originals could be seen as an act of rebellion on a reality competition built upon what Katy labeled “a karaoke show” premise, I would suggest Alejandro’s most brazen act was letting his music speak for him and refusing to divulge intimate details of life. We found out about Jeremiah Lloyd Graham‘s struggle to come out as gay to his religious parents. We learned about Wade Cota‘s abusive dad and his...

In one of his first interviews since winning “American Idol” Season 17, country singer Laine Hardy just told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that he can’t wait to “get started working on music.” Laine took the red eye from Los Angeles to New York City in order to appear on “Live with Kelly and Ryan” in the wee hours of Monday morning. “I slept like three hours on the way here,” the 18-year-old mumbled to the morning hosts while donning his flowered suit jacket. Watch the interview above, which also includes Laine’s performance of his original song “Flame.”

One of the most viral contestants of “American Idol” this season was someone who didn’t even make it to the live shows: Shayy. This 18-year-old high school student from Midlothian, Va recently lost her vision due to a brain tumor, which the doctors were only partially able to remove. Shayy’s initial audition of Andra Day‘s “Rise Up” was the most-watched audition of Season 17, which is why it was so shocking to see her eliminated in the Hawaii showcase round. The good news for “American Idol” fans is that Shayy returned during Sunday’s season finale to perform “Rise Up” with — who else? — the original singer herself. Watch the video above.

American Idol wrapped its 17th season on Sunday, delivering a three-hour extravaganza filled with live music, familiar faces and, as always, crippling disappointment.
In addition to the three remaining contestants — Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg — a number of eliminated singers also returned to perform in the finale. Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon joined forces with Katy Perry, while Laci Kaye Booth shared the stage with Luke Bryan. Dimitrius Graham also came back to sing with Adam Lambert, while Alyssa Raghu performed with Kane Brown, and Uché got his dance on with Kool & the Gang.

Laine Hardy could well win “American Idol” on Sunday according to our poll of viewers. He has narrowed the gap with frontrunner Alejandro Aranda to just seven points (48-41). Right after the Top 3 were revealed on the May 12 episode of “American Idol,” Alejandro enjoyed a 10-point advantage. In the intervening week, the third finalist, Madison VanDenburg, has slipped even further behind, with just 11% support.

Since he first took to the American Idol stage with his emotional rendition of George Ezra’s Blame it on Me, Wade Cota has gone from strength to strength. His raspy, heart-wrenching vocals have won him the praise of Idol’s judging panel, and a firm place in the nation’s hearts. That cover of the Ray Charles classic “Georgia on My Mind” from the Top 40 show has earned a whopping 28% of the total tally to date. Also scoring well with viewers were Laci’s Top 20 solo — “I Want You To Want Me” by Cheap Trick — which has 23% of the vote, and her Top 20 duet with Brett Young on his hit “Mercy,” which merits 12% support.

Madison VanDenburg has sung nine songs so far on “American Idol” and viewers think that four of these were real winners. In our poll asking viewers to pick her best song so far on season 17, her Top 14 cover of the Alicia Keys hit “Fallin’” racked up 22% of the tally to date. Conversely, her version that night of Lady Gaga‘s “You and I” merited a mere 3$ of the total vote count.
Her Top 6 performance of the Celine Dion power ballad “I Surrender” was a hit with “Idol” fans, earning 17% in our poll. Also registering double digit support were Madison’s Top 40 song, “Who’s Lovin’ You” by The Miracles (it has 15% as of this writing), and her Top 10 cover of the Disney tune “How Far I’ll Go” from “Moana,” which is at 12%.
Do you agree with these results? Take a look at VanDenburg’s set list below and then weigh in with your pick.

Wade Cota has gotten to the top 5 on the ABC revival of “American Idol” based on his nine performances to date beginning with his rendition of “Work Song” by Hozier back on March 31. That cover did well when we asked viewers to pick his best song, earning a solid 16%. However, leading the way with 28% was Wade’s rendition on the Top 6 show of the Shawn James hit “Through the Valley.” And “Idol” fans liked his other song that night too as “With A Little Help From My Friends” by The Beatles merited 17% of the total tally.
At the other end of the scale are some of Wade’s more recent efforts with his Top 8 cover of the Queen classic “We Are the Champions” registering just 2%. Also figuring in the bottom three are his Top 10 performance of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story” and his Top 20 duet...

Laine Hardy has made it into the Top 5 of “American Idol” based on the nine songs he has sung to date on the ABC revival of this reality competition series. Of these, the clear choice for viewers’ favorite is “Come Together,” the 1969 song that was one of the last hits for The Beatles. Laine made this track his own on the Top 40 show and it took just over one in four votes in our poll.
Virtually tied for second are Hardy’s rendition of the Sonny Boy Williamson classic “Bring It On Home,” which was his Top 20 solo, and his second Top 6 song, Chuck Berry‘s “Johnny B. Goode.” Surprisingly, Laine’s second song last week, “I Don’t Need No Doctor” by Ray Charles, merited a mere 4% in our poll. Do you agree with these results?

Alejandro Aranda is the frontrunner to win season 17 of “American Idol” based on the nine songs he has sung on the reality competition series so far. We wondered which of these was your favorite. Tops in our poll of viewers is “Poison,” the original tune that Alejandro performed on the Top 6 show on May 5.
His self-penned song registered a whopping 47% of the vote while his other number that evening, Jefferson Airplane‘s “White Rabbit,” netted just 6%. On the May 12 episode of “American Idol,” the final 5 — Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg — will sing three songs each: one in honor of Mother’s Day, another that was chosen by menton Bobby Bones and a third from the Elton John back catalog. At the end of the live show, Ryan Seacrest will reveal the three contenders to make it to next week’s final.
We asked for your predictions as to which of these remaining five finalists will go all the way to win season 17. “Idol” fans are divided between two of them: Alejandro Aranda has 39% of the viewers vote as of this writing and Laine Hardy is at 31%. In advance of the final five taking to stage on Sunday’s live “American Idol,” we wanted to know who viewers were backing to win season 17. Alejandro Aranda garnered a whopping 40% support in our poll. Laine Hardy, his closest rival more ways than one, is next with 31%. They lead out power rankings from best to worst and are all but certain to number among the Top 3 revealed by Ryan Seacrest at the end of the show on May 12.
Of the other three contestants, Wade Cota looks the likeliest to round out the roster of finalists. He has 15% of the total tally. The two women still standing — Laci Kaye Booth and Madison Vandenburg — did not break into double digits with 6% and 8% of the vote by “American Idol” fans respectively.

Laci Kaye Booth is almost certain to face elimination on “American Idol” this Sunday according to the results of our poll of viewers. She only made the final five on last Sunday’s episode when Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie decided to use their one judges save of the season to keep her in the competition. But she has earned only a measly 6% in our survey of “American Idol” fans heading into the Top 5 show on May 12.
The other contestant joining her in the bottom two is likely to be Madison VanDenburg who merited a mere 8% in our poll results. All five singers still in the competition will take to the stage on Sunday to perform a trio of tunes. Each will sing a song from the Elton John catalog, another picked out by mentor Bobby Bones and a third in honor of Mother’s Day.

The show is reviving the tradition this week tied to the upcoming big-screen musical biopic, “Rocketman,” starring Taron Egerton as the flashy piano man and directed by “Bohemian Rhapsody’s” Dexter Fletcher. On the May 5 episode of “American Idol,” the Top 6 sang two songs each: one that was inspirational and the other from the summer of 1969 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock music festival. Four of the half dozen contestants made it through based on their votes from the public: Alejandro Aranda, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg. A fifth, Laci Kaye Booth, got the judges save while the other artist in the bottom two, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, was eliminated.
We asked for your predictions as to which of these remaining five finalists will go all the way to win season 17. “Idol” fans are divided between two of the artists: Alejandro Aranda has 41% of the viewers vote as of this writing and Laine Hardy is at 30%. While Alejandro is about where he was last week (40%), Laine has added five points to his total. Much of that support comes from fans of Jeremiah.

On Sunday’s “American Idol,” two of the Top 6 contestants were facing elimination: Laci Kaye Booth and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon. Although they performed at the top of their game, in the end their rival finalists got more of America’s votes. That meant that these two talents fell just short of making the Top 4 who were guaranteed a chance to sing again on May 12.
That leading quartet of vote-getters as revealed by Ryan Seacrest are: Alejandro Aranda, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg. The only way for either Laci or Jeremiah to join them was if the three judges used their one save of the season to throw them a lifeline. And, after an agonizing few minutes, that is just what Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie did. (Vote in our ‘American Idol’ winner poll.)
Laci got the good news in the closing seconds of the show while Jeremiah was sent packing.

Hey, "American Idol" fans. Tonight, May 5, 2019, the final 6 American Idol contestants performed Live once again. However, this time, they performed not one, but two songs. Their first set of songs were inspired by the Woodstock music festival. The second set of songs were titled “Inspirational Showstoppers.” American Idol alum and Ccm star Lauren Daigle arrived to mentor the singers through the Showstopper performances. All the judges: Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan were on hand, and they still had a "save" in play to rescue one lucky contestant from elimination. Tonight's Live show started off with the Woodstock performances. Madison Vandenberg hit the stage first to sing, "Piece of My Heart" by Janis Joplin/Erma Franklin. Afterwards, Katy told Madison, “Oh my gush! You flung your pony! I don’t want you to be second. I want you to win this thing. I think the second half was better than the first half.

The Sunday May 5 episode of “American Idol” spotlighted the Top 6. Everything comes with an expiration date, including the American Idol judges’ coveted save, and Sunday’s episode marked their final opportunity to use it this season. On May 5, the “American Idol” Top 6 will sing two songs apiece: one will be inspirational (as chosen by Grammy-winning Christian singer Lauren Daigle) while the other will date back to the summer of 1969 in honor of the 5oth anniversary of the Woodstock music festival.
