This week, Mayor of Kingstown returns to Paramount Plus for its third season. As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to see one of Taylor Sheridan’s more underrated shows continue, but of course, its return is noteworthy for other reasons, too. Shortly before the debut of season two, star Jeremy Renner had a terrible accident that left him with thirty broken bones when he was run over by a 14,000-pound snowcat. Yet, about a year later, Renner was already back on set reprising his role as Mike McClusky and, in the lead-up to the premiere, Renner sat down with us to describe his recovery (watch the video embedded above)
One of the nicest things about Renner is how real he’s always been, and in our interview, he got very honest about the physical and mental challenges he faced upon his return to acting. While I told him that,...

Jeremy Renner is back in business as Mike McLusky, returning as the "mayor" of the prison town known as Kingstown.
After his terrible accident, there were fears that he'd ever fill Mike's shoes again. Those fears were unfounded.
The explosive trailer for the upcoming third season proves he's nimble on his feet but even more potent with his words.
Mayor of Kingstown is a high-adrenaline series about a small town in the business of America’s prison system.
Kingstown is pushed to its limits again and again as rampant crime inside prison walls, and outside has a stranglehold on its population.
Things reached a boiling point in the first season, as a horrifying riot put many at risk.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 saw tensions rise even further as everyone weathered the impact of the riot and how to survive in its aftermath.

Although fans were concerned that Season 2 of Mayor Kingstown would be the final installment following Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident last year, fortunately, Season 3 is up and running. With Renner better than ever, he’ll be reprising the role of Mike McClusky, one of the most complex characters he has tackled throughout his career, in the upcoming season.
Previously reflecting on the character, which displays how good Renner is at tackling grey roles, the actor explained why McClusky just doesn’t leave Kingstown once and for all.

Kingstown isn’t the most ideal place that one would choose to settle in, but Mike McClusky, who did contemplate leaving the town for good on several instances, never acted on it.

We’re getting the first look at Jeremy Renner in the upcoming third season of Mayor of Kingstown. Paramount+ has dropped the first trailer and unveiled a spring premiere date for the upcoming season which sees Renner’s Mike McClusky in a fight against a fierce Russian mob.
Season 3 will debut Sunday, June 2 in the U.S. and Canada and will begin roling out on June 3 in all other Paramount+ markets.
The Season 3 premiere comes some 18 months after a snowplow accident nearly ended Renner’s life. The actor broke 30 bones when he was pulled under a snow-removal tractor and crushed in a New Year’s Day accident at his Lake Tahoe home. He was treated for blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and was hospitalized for 16 days. Renner chronicled his recovery throughout on Instagram.

In order for any deal to work, all parties have to be trusted to stick with it.
Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 Episode 3 suggests that Mike might have made a deal with parties who don't have the fortitude to stand their ground.
That could mean big trouble for Mike McClusky.
From an editorial standpoint, it's not easy to cover this show. Its approach is very "a day in the life." The hours fly by while watching, but there isn't too much to say once the credits roll.
If you've been reading along, you've been very silent doing so. Is it worth continuing the march toward the of the season, or wouldn't you miss the coverage if it disappeared? Please let me know in the comments below.
We know Mike doesn't sleep, but it's beginning to show on his face. He's always a little worse for the wear, but as he hit...

Exclusive: Derek Webster (In the Dark) and Taylor Handley (Apb) have been cast opposite Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest in Paramount+’s drama series Mayor of Kingstown, from Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan, Antoine Fuqua, 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios.
Co-created by Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Michigan, where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
Webster will play Stevie, a Kingstown police officer. Handley will play Kyle McClusky, a police officer trying to become a trooper. He is the youngest of the McClusky sons and brother to Mike McClusky (Renner), the mayor of Kingstown.
