It’s a mortifying experience to have to admit to the members of the band Goose, in the interests of full disclosure, that you have not yet seen them live. That’s because Goose is, by most accounts, the most talked about jam band in the country right now. How can one truly understand a jam band if they haven’t been in that crowd, riding an improvisational wave of sound to some unknown peak that will never be replicated in exactly the same way? Sure, you can dig through concert clips on YouTube.

Goose, and an old exercise tape, help inject some life into an office worker stuck in the doldrums in the new music video for “Hungersite.” The track will appear on the Connecticut band’s upcoming album, Dripfield, out June 24.
“Hungersite” is a breezy tune with shuffling drums, rich harmonies, a little country tinge and — of course — some very tasteful guitar soloing towards the end. In a statement, Goose guitarist/singer Rick Mitarotonda said of the song, “Whenever broaching global commentary territory, even if discreet and non-invasive in nature, it seems...

The Brooklyn sextet previewed the record with opener “Denver Haircut,” a signature surge of snarling electric guitars, chiming piano chords and the clever, deadpan observations of frontman Craig Finn.
“He shaved his head at the airport/In a bar at the end of the concourse,” the singer notes on the track. “He said you...
