By 16, he had already written a feature-length screenplay and several short films. At the age of 18, he wrote and directed the CUS Charity Revue, an annual theatre show in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Moving to London in 2014, Jake established himself as a screenwriter and camera assistant. By 2015, his interests in cinematography led him to the role of the camera assistant and he began exploring camera and lighting techniques. It was also during this time that he secured a crew position on The Crown (2016).
