Robert Terrall
Robert Terrall (1914-2009) was the author, under various pen names, of over 50 pulp crime novels, none of which, except for the loose connection with The Nice Guys, were ever filmed. He did, however, carry on the Michael Shayne character, who had been the basis for 1940s programmers at 20th Century Fox (with Lloyd Nolan) and later at PRC (with Hugh Beaumont).Terrall also wrote movie tie-in books, such as the one for the 1956 version of The Ten Commandments.Previously, after graduating from Harvard in 1936, Terrall had written briefly for Time magazine, including a few film reviews such as that for Angels With Dirty Faces.
