- Loalwa Braz was born on June 3, 1953 in Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was an actress, known for The Incredible Hulk (2008), Rizoto (2000) and Kaoma: Lambada (1989). She died on January 19, 2017 in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
- She was a vocalist with the French group Kaoma, which had overnight success in 1989 with "Lambada". It was a cover of a Bolivian folk song ("Llorando Se Fue"), set to the Afro-Brazilian lambada rhythm derived from the carimbó style. She recorded and toured with the group for ten years. She eventually moved back to Rio, keeping up a solo singing career and running an inn.

His father was a popular conductor and her mother a classic pianist. - Loalwa Braz, the singer of Kaoma was murdered the 19 January 2017, after being victim of a burglary that went wrong at his home. She was beaten up and taken to her car, fainting. The escape of the cameramen lasted 1 kilometer before they ran out of gas. The burglars then decided to set the car on fire, burning the body of Loalwa Braz. The police arrested three people aged 18 to 23 years. Among them is the guard of his inn in Saquarema, Brazil, who has confessed, and two other men, arrested in possession of certain belongings belonging to the singer like his bank card and his mobile phone.
