If there’s one thing you can see in these behind-the-scenes photos from Virgin River, it’s that the cast of the series has absolutely no fun at work. Just kidding — big smiles and copious hugs are all over these shots, which were captured on the set of the final two episodes of Virgin River Season 5 by stars Alexandra Breckenridge, Sarah Dugdale, and Kai Bradbury.
Tudum gave the trio their own instant cameras as they filmed, and these photos are the result of their on-set adventures. Which, again, we’re sure were no fun at all.
Check out their grins as they goof around behind the scenes — you’ll see that the shots also include .
Much like their characters, the actors enjoy each other’s company off-screen as well. That intergenerational harmony is one of the reasons the show appeals to people of all ages. “You get to see a...

[This story contains major spoilers from season five, parts one and two, of Virgin River.]
Virgin River showrunner Patrick Sean Smith wanted the newly released holiday episodes of the Netflix series to feel lighter, given the weight of season five.
Following the part one release of 10 intense and emotional episodes (on Sept. 7) — which saw a wildfire hit Virgin River, an illegal drug business showdown, a sexual assault court trial and a difficult miscarriage — Smith knew he wanted the two holiday episodes that are now streaming to have a “feeling of family and warmth.”
Still, the beloved small town couldn’t escape at least some drama this holiday season, including Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) tracking down her biological father, who also lives in Virgin River. And of course, there’s no Virgin River seasonal event — this time, the Christmas tree decorating contest — without some challenges.
But as Smith looks ahead to the already renewed next season, he admits that his “intention was never to have...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the Virgin River Christmas special
Netflix’s Virgin River closed out its fifth season with a two-episode Christmas special set during the holidays, more than three months after the “Labor Day” Season 5 Part 1 finale. As suggested by the aptly titled Episode 512, “Father Christmas,” the special’s main storyline follows the bombshell cliffhanger in the Part 1 finale, that Mel’s biological father is likely a man from Virgin River.
With only a couple of clues to his identity in the man’s love letters to Mel and Joey’s mom Sarah to go off of, Mel and Jack launched a search that eventually led them to Everett Reid, who lives in a cabin outside of Virgin River. At first, he wanted nothing to do with Mel but by the end of the two-hour special, in a true holiday spirit, he came around and,...

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about Episodes 505 and 506 of Netflix’s Virgin River.
Virgin River‘s seasons are typically built around three tentpoles, the season premiere, the finale and a big event episode in the middle that propels the storytelling with plenty of aftermath to deal with in the remaining episodes. Big town events in the mid-run episodes have included the Moonlight Mingle dance in Season 1, the Lumberjack Games in Season 3 and the Renaissance Fair in Season 4. In Season 5, which marked the first for the hit Netflix series with new showrunner Patrick Sean Smith at the helm, a wildfire threatening the town of Virgin River. Because of the scope, it took two episodes — 5 and 6 — to deal with the natural disaster and its immediate aftermath.
During the episodes, still reeling from being ousted as the town’s mayor, Hope (Annette O’Toole) rises to the challenge and leads the evacuation efforts.

On Wednesday, Netflix's first formal Upfronts presentation brought some exciting news for fans of the streaming service's most beloved shows.
Ginny & Georgia, which has been in limbo since January, has secured a pickup for two more seasons, keeping the show on the air through what will likely be the fourth -- and final -- season.
In an exclusive post-mortem interview in January, then-showrunner Debra J. Fisher teased that she and series creator Sarah Lampert had mapped out a four-season run for the show.
The renewal announcement's delay is shocking, especially considering the show has been a strong performer for Netflix.
However, the streaming service confirmed that Sarah Glinski (Degrassi: Next Class) will take over as showrunner from Fisher.
There is no reason for the switcheroo, but fans will be happy knowing the show is returning.
Ginny & Georgia Season 2 concluded with countless cliffhangers, including Georgia being arrested for murder.

No doubt about it, Virgin River Season 4 brought romance, drama, tears, twists, turns, and major bombshells!
It was a heck of a binge, and fans are likely reeling from that shocking finale and counting the moments until we can check into Virgin River again.
TV Fanatic had the pleasure of catching up with Kai Bradbury, who plays Doc's mysterious grandson, Denny. Please be warned; the interview contains major spoilers ahead! Check it out below!
What attracted you to the role of Denny, and were you excited about checking into Virgin River?
I was very much so. You know, exploring such a beloved show is such a gift. And it was kind of a big question mark as to what Denny would become moving forward from the first cliffhanger scene I shot in Virgin River Season 3. I was thrilled to get the first scripts and start to piece together who Denny would become.

Virgin River Season 4 is still a long way off, but at least we have some casting details to tide us over.
TV Line has revealed two new series regulars, and they're sure to get pulses racing.
Mark Ghanimé (The Bold Type) has officially joined the cast as Dr. Cameron Hayek, who is on board as the clinic's "dashing new physician."
"Armed with eye-catching good looks, a razor-sharp intellect, and a smile that could light up the world, Cameron makes an immediate splash in town — especially with the ladies of Virgin River," the character description reads.
We know the series loves a good romance story, so it will be fun to see who Cameron pairs up with.
It could also be a sign that Doc (Tim Matheson) will be scaling back his duties at the clinic.
Throughout Virgin River Season 3, he prepared for a replacement when his health declined.

In addition, Lyne Renee (aka General Alder) has been upped to series regular for season two. There's no word on when season two will air but, given the current pandemic-induced shutdown, a 2021 premiere seems likely.
The Motherland: Fort Salem drama series is set in an alternate version of present-day America. In this reality, witches ended their persecution 300 years ago by cutting a deal with the United States government to fight for their country. The story follows three young women from basic training in combat magic into terrifying and thrilling early deployment. The cast includes Taylor Hickson, Jessica Sutton, Ashley Nicole Williams, Amalia Holm, and Demetria McKinney with Renee, Kai Bradbury, and Sarah Yarkin in recurring roles.

The Terror Season 2 Episode 2
Two episodes in, The Terror: Infamy is a completely different beast than its predecessor, tackling a horrific moment in American history that makes last year's cannibalism-themed massacre on ice feel almost tame in comparison. While the men of Captain Sir John Franklin's doomed expedition to the Arctic found solace in simple pleasures (mostly from a bottle), the Japanese residents of San Pedro enjoy no such comforts in "All the Demons Are Still in Hell." Over the course of the hour, we watch the Nakayamas, their friends, and acquaintances get displaced from their homes, forced to live in shit-covered horse stalls by order of the U.S. government, and then moved to a concentration camp. Japanese men are tortured and killed,...

The CW has partnered with Canada’s CBC on a new short-form samurai drama starring The Girlfriend Experience’s Emily Piggford.
Warigami is a ten-part series, consisting of ten minute episodes that is a contemporary samurai saga. Wendy Ohata, played by Piggford, has just made three startling realizations: One, she has a twin brother; two, she’s a kami-jin – a descendent of an ancient Japanese people who can turn paper into deadly weapons; and three, there’s a kami-jin warrior hunting her down for reasons she doesn’t understand.
The series is created by Eddie Kim and directed by Jason Lapeyre, who directed Lifetime’s Who Killed Jon Benet?, with showrunner Andrew Allen, who worked on digital drama Rush: Inspired By Battlefield. Kai Bradbury (The Terror), Akiel Julien (The Next Step), Miho Suzuki (Colossal), and David Hewlett (Stargate: Atlantis) also star.
It is produced by First Love Films and distributed by New Form.
