On the night of April 13, after the apparent leak of his diss track “Push Ups (Drop & Give Me Fifty),” Drake posted a screenshot from the movie Kill Bill on his Instagram Story. It was the film’s iconic fight scene, during which Uma Thurman’s character takes on a room full of ninja assassins only to emerge victorious. The metaphor couldn’t be more applicable to Drake’s current situation, as he fends off what many are describing as “Rap’s Avengers,” out for blood since the release of Future...

A rare collection of artwork featuring concepts for Disneyland rides and areas that never were built has been sold at auction. Heritage Auctions handled the sales earlier this month in Beverly Hills, California.
The event spotlighted hand-drawn sketches from the Bradley/Bushman Early Disneyland Archives, which conceptualized rides and themed lands for the Disney theme park in Anaheim.
Among the theme park plans and concepts was an “Anything Can Happen” land, and plans for underwater aquariums. In the latter, guests would have walked into the mouths of the crocodile from Peter Pan or Monstro, the whale from Pinocchio, to view marine life.
Another concept detailed an 80-foot-tall statue of Goofy dressed as a clown. The colossus would have been located where the theme park’s Sleeping Beauty Castle now stands.

Dan Schneider, the mastermind behind a lot of Nickelodeon shows that many still remember as some of the best ones to date, had previously been alleged of misconduct towards Nickelodeon employees and child actors under his watch. Despite Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Pluto being classified as the five "main" characters in the Disney canon (aka "The Fab Five"), it's actually the barrel-chested Pete who arrived before them all in 1925. Originally, Pete was a bear but evolved into Mickey's archnemesis for a time before settling into his role as the loudmouth cat often playing opposite of Goofy as we know and love him today. This new affiliation began in 1992 with the animated series "Goof Troop," which followed Goofy as a single father after he and his son Max moved back to his hometown of Spoonerville. The family ends up moving next door to Pete, a used car salesman with the integrity of Harry Wormwood in "Matilda," his real-estate agent wife Peg, their son P.J., and daughter Pistol. Max and P.J. become fast friends, forcing the two families to connect, and inspiring plenty of hijinks because of it.

On March 23, 2023, when the cast members of Vanderpump Rules filmed the show’s highly anticipated Season 10 reunion just weeks after learning about Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss’ monthslong affair, Pluto moved into Aquarius’ sky for the first time in more than two 200 years. Those familiar with astrology know this is something of a big deal; Pluto can often be associated with truth and power as well as death and rebirth, and Aquarius is affiliated with the ideas of rebellion, revolution, and collective social matters. This all makes sense to Ally Lewber,...

Exclusive: Paramount Global’s free streaming outlet Pluto TV has just completed a refresh of its brand and will be taking its first bow during the company’s Super Bowl broadcast on CBS, Nickelodeon and Paramount+.
The impetus for the move, insiders tell Deadline, is to position Pluto as the progenitor of free, ad-supported streaming television, or Fast. It also coincides with the 10th anniversary of Pluto’s debut as a beta website in March 2014.
The Fast category has mushroomed from humble beginnings into a multi-billion-dollar revenue generator, with an estimated 1,500 total channels jockeying for attention across the sector. Given Pluto’s foundational role in launching Fast, Paramount is looking to give it a boost with an ad slot during the Big Game broadcast on February 11.

(Welcome to Ani-time Ani-where, a regular column dedicated to helping the uninitiated understand and appreciate the world of anime.)
Listen, I love anime and the endless possibilities of the medium. Unfortunately, much like how Hollywood is mostly inundated by uncomplicated four-quadrant blockbusters that get tiring after a while, anime, too, is inundated with uncomplicated action-centric titles that cater to a mass audience. There's a reason the vast majority of anime shows are about teenagers, which is fine but it means that anytime a show comes out that deals with adult characters and mature themes it is worth paying attention to.
So imagine how thrilled I was to find out that there was an anime adaptation of a manga by the guy who gave us the anime equivalent of an HBO prestige drama — and it is based on a story by the man who created anime as we know it.
That anime is "Pluto.

This article contains spoilers for The Fall of the House of Usher.
The Fall of the House of Usher features many gruesome deaths as each member of the Usher family is killed in equally bizarre ways. But for all of the blood and gore we see throughout the series, there’s one death in particular that left some viewers worried about the fate of a furry member of the Usher clan. Thankfully though, series creator Mike Flanagan reassured fans that not everything is what it seems in episode 4.
Episode 4 titled “The Black Cat” focuses on Napoleon “Leo” Usher’s (Rahul Kohli) death and is based on the Edgar Allan Poe short story of the same name. The episode begins with Leo finding his partner Julius’ (Daniel Jun) cat Pluto brutally murdered. The Fall of the House of Usher showrunner Mike Flanagan has been largely keeping quiet amid the rollout of his latest Netflix horror series, but he took to Twitter/X late last week to clarify a burning question from a fan. And if you’re going to take a single question from the internet, it might as well be about a cat.
The question: “What did cats ever do to you?” in reference to episode four’s gory battle between the ill-fated Leo (Rahul Kohli) and a black cat named Pluto in a story that’s loosely based on Edgar Allen Poe’s short story “The Black Cat.”
Flanagan wanted to make it clear that after the cat goes missing, the menacing replacement cat he adopts is entirely a hallucination caused by the mysterious Verna (Carla Gugino) and that Pluto is alive and well.

Starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, and Javier Bardem, the film follows the same basic plot as the animated version, complete with songs. The Little Mermaid may have struggled at the box office, but it will likely find its natural home and plenty of fresh eyeballs on streaming when it debuts this month.

As fall creeps closer, major studios have to plan out their next steps if writers and actors continue to strike. At this point it’s already impossible for the fall production schedule to move forward normally, even if the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) went back to work today.
Some outlets, like Paramount Global have already announced they’ll use reruns of streaming and older network shows to fill in programming gaps this fall. New data from Civic Science is showing that viewers could respond to such tactics, at least initially.

Civic Science’s numbers show that 58% of audiences would be at least somewhat likely to watch a rerun on network television channels like ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox and NBC during the strike.

Michael Beach was in his late twenties and primed for a breakout performance when he landed the role of Pluto in Carl Franklin's "One False Move." This was not supposed to be that performance. It was a low-budget crime flick from a couple of unknown screenwriters named Billy Bob Thornton and Tom Epperson that was intended to go straight to video. But when L.A. Weekly journo Anne Thompson caught an early screening, she spread the word to her critic colleagues. Once the Los Angeles Times' Sheila Benson and the Chicago Sun-Times' Roger Ebert began raving about the film, the distributor, I.R.S. Releasing, opted for a small theatrical release. The movie wound up on multiple year-end top 10 lists and earned five Independent Spirit Award nominations (with Franklin beating out newcomer Quentin Tarantino for Best Director).

Osamu Tezuka is often mentioned along with the title of “Father of Manga” and in many ways, he is, thanks to the prolific nature of his works and the fact that he managed to walk the perfect line between entertainment for kids and profound storytelling that took the medium of manga to an entirely new era. Characters like Astro Boy, Kimba, the White Lion, and Black Jack are still present in the audience’s minds even after so long, and thus the influence of Tezuka cannot be understated. Pluto is a new anime series based on the Astro Boy Universe, and Netflix has released the first official teaser for it.
Pluto is based on a manga of the same name written and illustrated not by Tezuka, who sadly passed away at the age of 60 in 1989, but by Naoki Urasawa, a more contemporary manga artist that has acquired an amazing reputation...

King Charles III‘s reign since the death of his mother hasn’t been an easy one. There have been some anti-monarchy protesters showing up during a few of his engagements, rumblings about countries interested in leaving the Commonwealth, questions about jewels acquired centuries ago, and drama with family members like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Now, a psychic is predicting that things are going to continue to be difficult for the king in the year ahead and one royal could find themselves outside the new monarch’s “circle of trust.”

From her days with Destiny's Child to preparing to go on tour for her latest album, "Renaissance," it's no secret that Beyoncé is an exemplary artist of our time. As a perfectionistic Virgo sun, transformative Scorpio moon, and eloquent Libra rising, it's obvious that Beyoncé's astrological placements prove her "I'm That Girl" energy was written in the stars.
Although Beyoncé has already outdone herself time and time again, don't be surprised if her best work is yet to come, since Beyoncé's looking at exceptionally ambitious transits over the next few years, especially when Pluto in Aquarius begins an opposition to her natal Mars from the end of March 2023 to the beginning of June 2023. Her intense creativity will be amplified during this time, so Beyoncé will become a tremendous force of nature as she pushes herself to overcome whatever obstacles that may come with her next major project.

Ariel and Tiana had an instantly iconic meeting at Disney World. On March 23, Halle Bailey shared several videos and photos from her recent trip to the most magical place on Earth on her Instagram Stories. In one of them, "The Little Mermaid" star posed for a photo with the actor who plays Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog" in the park.
In the photo, both Tiana and Bailey are grinning as they stand side-by-side. The "grown-ish" actor captioned the pic, "I found Princess Tiana, y'all!" Bailey also shared a video of a young fan who gave her a big hug after she realized she was looking at Ariel, and a third video, featuring Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto waving as she road by.
Tiana and Bailey's Ariel are Disney's only Black princesses to date, which makes their meeting all the more special. In a 2022 interview with Variety,...

Cinema fans have been familiar with Michael Berryman for decades. He made his first screen appearance in the 1975 film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze, following that up with a role in the Best Picture winner One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Next up was his most iconic role, that of the desert-dwelling cannibal Pluto in Wes Craven’s 1977 film The Hills Have Eyes, a role he reprised in the messy 1984 sequel The Hills Have Eyes Part II. He has gone on to rack up over one hundred more credits, including roles in films like Deadly Blessing, Invitation to Hell, Cut and Run, Weird Science, My Science Project, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, The Guyver, Beastmaster 2, Wizards of the Demon Sword, Teenage Exorcist, The Devil’s Rejects, Ed Gein: The Butcher of Plainfield, The Haunted Casino, The Lords of Salem, and Death House.

Radical joy and consistent action were the messages at Nashville’s Love Rising benefit concert on Monday, an event that drew supporters to the city’s downtown Bridgestone Arena. Hosted by Drag Race alumna Asia O’Hara and featuring performances by Hayley Williams, Hozier, Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell, Maren Morris, Allison Russell, Joy Oladokun, and Nashville’s drag artists — among many others — the concert raised money for four Tennessee organizations working to fight the state government’s ongoing legislative attacks against the LGBTQ+ community.

Drew Barrymore is appearing in a new series of ads for Pluto TV, the streaming service owned by Paramount Global, which also distributes her daily talk show via CBS Media Ventures.
The tagline for the campaign, whose TV spots will launch in the U.S. and Canada tomorrow, is “Stream Now. Pay Never,” a reference to Pluto’s ad-supported business model.
Since January 2022, a channel dedicated to highlights from Barrymore’s show has been featured on Pluto, which has lately been leaning into its relationship with CBS on the free streaming front.

While Christmas might have beaten out Halloween in sheer quantity of televised specials, in my eyes, it was always the latter that reigned supreme in quality. Chief amongst my October rituals was plotting out what nights I had to be planted firmly in front of our television set to make sure I caught all my favorites. Whether it be Charlie Brown, Garfield or simply a themed episode of a sitcom that happened to be on, regardless of my familiarity with the thing, if it was Halloween oriented, I was in.
Those were days devoid of streaming options, my viewing habits dictated entirely by the TV Guide and sporadic trips to the video store. Still, it was the convenience (or inaccessibility) of any given program’s airtime that had the biggest impact of what I was or wasn’t able to see. As we didn’t have a Vcr that could record,...
