Kino Lee is a multi artist who hails from Taipei, Taiwan. Lee earned a degree in Classical Piano Performance from Fujen University in the Spring of 2017, she graduated from Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring with a minor in Video Game Scoring.
During her years at Berklee, Kino took part in many projects. She was music programmer for the Frontline documentary "The Fish on My Plate"; assistant composer for Masan Daring; composer for the video games "Wave Rider" and "Long Walk Home"; keyboard 1 player for the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra and arranger for the piece "Anthropology", which was performed by Berklee Chord Scale Madness ensemble. Lee was also a Berklee scholarship recipient and winner of the Berklee Contemporary Classical Performance award in 2015 and the Formosa Youth Choir Composition Award in 2012 and 2013. In 2017 August, she released her first album "Free Spirit" through all the media. She is working Director Akira Hsueh through out the year 2017. Kino's scoring for the film "The Key" has won "The Best Original Score " from LA Independent Film Festival in 2019. Another film she composed for the director Akira Hsueh in the same year "A Chin", founded by Taiwan Public Television Service had a huge succeed in Taiwan. Kino's most recent work as a director and composer "Huo Zhe" has won "Honorable Mention: Experimental Film" from Florence Film Awards, the same project is also selected by "CKF International Film Festival" and "Rome Prisma Independent Film Awards".
Kino began learning piano and violin at the young age of 4, and has had a plethora of experience with orchestral, choral, jazz, and solo performances. As a composer and arranger, she has a wide range of experience in writing for many styles, such as classical, orchestral, contemporary, chamber, film scoring, video game scoring, jazz small ensemble, and big band. Although Lee is a very acclaimed performer as a pianist/violinist, her focus is on video game and film composing. Her goal is to use her broad understanding of music and art to convey emotion and bring great experiences to people everywhere. She cites Chih Ming Lu, her teacher from Fujen University, as her most important teacher. Without his help, she wouldn't have been able to come to Berklee and become the person she is today. She has been a very active artist in Boston, New York City and now London.
Kino has been cooperating with composer Mason Daring, Sheldon Mirowitz ; Journalist David Fanning ; Taiwanese Director Akira Hsueh and many wonderful artists in the world.
