On a Hallmark Channel live discussion today, Chris McNally weighed in on what lies ahead for Lucas Bouchard.
After three seasons in the spotlight, When Calls the Heart is Lucas-light, and it’s hard to bear.
But McNally promises that there is a heavier story coming his way. "A big snowball that's getting bigger, and bigger, and bigger," to be exact.
He even used “It’s always darkest before the dawn” in relation to Lucas’s journey.
We have not seen the last of Jeannette, who always pops up when she can make the most impact.
If we’re reading McNally right, viewers who sensed we’d be seeing a darker side of Lucas are spot on.
Lucas has been a beacon of light through some of Hope Valley’s most trying times.
He arrived in town with a dream of finding a place to call home, a far cry...

The viewing public learned of CSI: Vegas's end on April 19.
Its cancellation by CBS really shouldn't have come as a shock. Its middling ratings have made it a bubble show throughout its entire run.
CSI: Vegas had every opportunity to thrive. It first aired in 2021, amid a wistful revival craze as a nation coming out of a pandemic sought comfort viewing.
In that first season, odd couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to break a conspiracy smearing the former crime lab's reputation.
At the same time, this generation's CSI lab, led by Maxine Roby (Paula Newsome), solved new cases like the former criminologists that viewers had loved for 16 seasons, only with newer, fancier gadgets to do the work.
Marg Helgenberger's Catherine Willows has fit seamlessly with the current squad over the past two seasons.
Like a legacy at any institution, the series was given time to find its way.

It looks like we're in for some Springtime magic, as it's Easter time in Hope Valley.
The series has been lacking in community activities, but spoilers for When Calls the Heart Season 11 Episode 4 indicate that the entire town celebrates Easter with a fun Easter egg hunt.
Besides that, Lucas gets a mysterious visitor from his past, which could affect his future. This looks like a fun episode.
According to the promo, Lucas's old friend Jeannette Aucoin surprises him at the Queen of Hearts.
While she's never appeared on screen, Jeanette (Cecilia Deacon) has been on the canvas since When Calls the Heart, Season 6.
Lucas knew Jeannette since he lived in New Orleans and was a loyal friend, so he kept bailing her out of trouble.
Originally, she alerted him that a loan shark, Amos Dixon, was coming after her until Nathan convinced him to let the Mounties handle it.

It seems like every procedural show has a slow-burn pairing. CSI teased Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle for seven seasons before they officially started dating.
Josh Folsom (Matt Lauria) and Allie Rajan (Mandeep Dhillon) have danced around their relationship for three seasons. Has the endless teasing of their romance become too much, or do you enjoy Josh and Allie's relationship?
If someone had asked that question in CSI: Vegas Season 2, I would have responded that the love triangle with Serena was a horrible look, along with teasing their relationship. However, the two of them now stand a chance at a real relationship.
Josh and Allie worked right away as partners, and there was believable sexual tension between them. They were billed as a young Grissom and Sara in many ways, though long-time CSI fans didn't appreciate that.
Allie was more methodical and tightly wound and needed to learn to experience...

Josh Folsom has sworn he‘s tried to change where he came from by helping others and solving crimes. Yet when he suspected Kahn Schefter murdered his mother, he snapped.
Many of us can relate to that as you’d want to harm someone who killed your parents, but would you do it, especially if you were law enforcement?
Josh’s arc has been tricky. Some people relate to it, while others hate it. Luckily, it ended tonight when the undersheriff and the review board decided his fate.
TV Fanatic chatted with Matt Lauria about his thoughts on Josh’s latest arc, how relationships with Max and Allie would change, and when Josh would return to the field.
Check out the interview below:
So, what are your thoughts on Josh's latest character arc? While he grew up defending his family and believing in an eye for an eye, I thought he was past that.

Well, that was one predictable conclusion.
The final fate was reached for criminologist Josh Folsom on CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 3.
Unsurprisingly, Josh is still working for the Las Vegas crime lab.
That's no shock. Matt Lauria (Friday Night Lights) is arguably the biggest name among the new cast members.
In a strike-shortened season, discarding such a character would make no sense, unless the actor involved has decided to bail out on the series.
So, it was evident that Folsom would come out the other side of the review board. The question to be determined was in what shape he would emerge.
Throughout this whole Jeannette storyline, Josh has been his own worst enemy.
Gone was the meticulous CSI admired by his teammates. In his place was a scared little boy from the wrong side of the tracks, standing up for his mother, who wouldn't help herself.

The episode undoubtedly had several twists and turns that sent the series off in new directions.
CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 2 also served as a spotlight episode for Catherine.
That's always something to be celebrated by the returning viewers, who want to see that one O.G. character out in front.
Even better, it focused on a case that managed to be both cold and new simultaneously.
It was capably set up with Catherine reciting her "white whale case" to Maxine.
It certainly made sense that, with Catherine's long connection to the lab, she would have that one case that's haunted her.
How convenient was it that it too involved Rafael Tarquenio, the drug lord suspected of being behind Jeannette's murder?
Well, it definitely figures that Tarquenio would have some hand in any number of open cases, so why not explore that?
And, with Folsom so recently going off the rails,...

Josh Folsom may have been cleared, but ...
A very talented criminologist's career remained in the balance at the conclusion of CSI: Vegas Season 3 Episode 1.
Josh brought this situation on himself, being at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong person.
It wasn't like Folsom didn't already have enough strikes against him.
He is a native of the wrong side of Vegas. He grew as a CSI the hard way, absorbing like a sponge what his coworkers had to offer, especially his mentor, Maxine.
Frankly, he's the only one at the Las Vegas lab who didn't come off like a science nerd. You could see Josh enjoying a beer at any bar along the Strip.
Could that happen with Allie or even Penny? That's not very likely.
Serena has that down-to-earth quality as well. It's little wonder that Folsom ended up with her instead of Allie.
Josh chose family over his lover,...

This may be the season that CSI: Vegas finally stands on its own two feet.
In its first two seasons, this hybrid has faced a difficult challenge. It's not a revival of the popular series, which ran for 15 seasons on CBS. It isn't a reboot, with new characters repopulating an old concept.
Instead, in its first two seasons, CSI: Vegas has featured a couple of legacy characters to draw in viewers of the original series.
In CSI: Vegas Season 1, power couple Gil Grissom (William Peterson) and Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) returned to clear the lab's reputation and former lab rat David Hodges (Wallace Langham) from a well-crafted frame.
Meanwhile, seemingly in the background, the lab's new criminologists solved the day-to-day cases.
What Were the Highlights of CSI: Vegas Season 2?
The second season struck a better balance between new and old. It almost had to.
The return of Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) was well handled.

The moment Folsom dreaded finally occurred.
But that didn't mean Josh handled Jeannette's murder well on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 21.
After seeing a track mark on her arm on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 19, he feared the worst and tracked tailing her. Seeing her seemingly working with a drug dealer on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 20 only magnified his concern.
But Jeannette didn't overdose as Folsom had feared. Instead, she apparently was skimming some of the heroin she was helping to smuggle.
And, not surprisingly, these weren't people with whom an addict should be messing. Who are they most likely to blame first when product comes up missing?
What was heartbreaking was the context given to Josh and Jeannette's relationship through the flashbacks to those days when his grandfather was dying from brain cancer.
The message was that, regardless of how she ended up, Jeannette was a caring mother when Folsom was growing up.

Hopefully, those May flowers will start blooming soon after the many April (and previous months’) showers. But whatever the weather, Netflix has a solid selection of new movies to watch this month.
Netflix’s May lineup has several bright and joyful animated films as well as more serious stories with light at the end of the tunnel. Tom Hanks’ latest theatrical release “A Man Called Otto” arrives on the streaming service, adapted from Frederick Backman’s book “A Man Called Ove” and following the story of a grumpy old man who struggles to find purpose in life after the death of his wife.
Animated adventures for the whole family include “The Croods” and “The Tale of Desperaux” which teach lessons of bravery in their own ways. For those in the mood for slightly quirkier stories, Jason Moore’s “Pitch Perfect” and “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” should do the trick.

Baku (Azerbaijan), May 12 (Ians) Former junior world champion Hriday Hazarika and Haryana’s Nancy won their first individual senior World Cup medals, shooting down silver in the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle competitions, here on Friday.
The Assam boy shot a brilliant final, where his lowest score of 10.1 came in the very first of the 24-shot final. Nancy was even better, recording a lowest of 10.2 in her final.
However, both went down to more accurate shooters on the day. Hriday lost to Hungary’s Zalan Pekler who shot 252.4 to the Indian’s 251.9, while Nancy, after going into the final two shots with a 0.1 lead over China’s Han Jiayu, could not hold on to the cushion to finish with 253.3 to her opponents’ 254.0.

The new day shift supervisor was something of a surprise.
Folsom and Allie were up for that promotion, which served as a distraction as the team sought the killer of a TV weathercaster on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 20.
How ridiculous was it that Max thought she could make this decision secretly without it becoming the talk of the lab?
Instead, Chris was making book on it, with the result of the squad placing bets on who would be promoted.
So, no pressure on Josh and Allie as they worked to solve the first murder case in a week in Clark County.

You knew we hadn't seen the last of Gene Farrow.
CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 19 saw the return of Farrow, who was briefly a suspect on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 2.
And what a comeback! Farrow crashed into the CSI lab, covered in blood and waving around a cleaver, begging Allie for help.
It was simpler to feel for Gene during his first appearance when his short time as a murder suspect led to his being fired from his job.
But even forgiving the way he made his entrance, Gene quickly dissipated any goodwill he may have accumulated, whining about how his life had gone to hell since he was falsely accused the first time.
Gene's target Allie was feeling a little bit of guilt for the false accusations the last time around, but Serena wasn't buying what he was selling this time.

Poor Folsom ended up dazed and confused.
First, Josh escaped severe injury after an explosion on CSI: Vegas Season 2 Episode 18. And that ended up being the less painful part of his day.
The rest of the team also faced a complicated case with way too many suspects.
Let's begin with the strange bombing and follow Folsom later as his past threatened to endanger his future.
A gambling-style schmoozefest by a would-be casino developer got disrupted by an explosion, eventually drawing most of the CSIs into action.
The blast killed three people, including the developer and the contractor who would have built the casino. Neither was universally loved.
Of course, there was also a foot left over because this is CSI, where weird things like that happen with regularity. It would have little impact on solving the case, but it was strange nonetheless.
Even Milton mentioned it, joking that stray limbs...
