Bollywood heist comedy “Crew,” starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon, is a hit and producers Ektaa R Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor are looking at a sequel.
Directed by Rajesh A Krishnan (“Lootcase”) and written by hit “Veere Di Wedding” duo Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri, the film is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network. The cast also includes Trupti Khamkar (Sundance short “Nocturnal Burger”), Diljit Dosanjh (Netflix film “Amar Singh Chamkila”), Kapil Sharma (Busan title “Zwigato”), Rajesh Sharma (“NH6”), Saswata Chatterjee (“Kahaani”) and Kulbhushan Kharbanda (“Mirzapur”).
“Crew” released over the Easter weekend and, with an opening day worldwide gross of $2.5 million, became one of the highest female-led openers in the history of Hindi-language cinema.

Mumbai, March 29 (Ians) Hindi cinema has not written very many lead female characters who have careers, although to be fair to scriptwriters, many of the roles for women have been full of substance. And depth.
It is thoroughly interesting therefore to walk into a movie that is about the story of not one but three diligent friends who are working as cabin crew for the fictional Kohinoor Airlines.
Director Rajesh Krishnan helms a 122-minute joy ride in his heist comedy film Crew starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon playing the leads.
Until their peaceful lives take a dramatic turn, all seems to be fine with the three rather glamorous women — Geetu (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kapoor Khan) and Divya Rana (Sanon), who are a part of an airline crew aged between the 20s and the 40s — when they are unexpectedly caught in a difficult situation orchestrated by someone with ulterior motives.

Crew
Directed by Rajesh A. Krishnan
Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kriti Sanon and Tabu
What happens when a sumptuous airline decides to pull the red carpet and replaces it with a dread carpet?
Total pandemonium! Director Rajesh Krishnan leans in to ferret out some humour in the Kingfisher (here rechristened Kohinoor) crisis. The ‘humour’ includes an airline official Rajvanshi (Rammakant Daayama) dying on flight with tiers of gold tied to his chest. Our trio of airhostess heroines are stricken with congenital greed.
Ha ha to that.
From that takeoff point, pun intended, Crew gets into a zany mood, unwilling to let go off even a single chance to poke fun at those who think material girls are wanton.
They are , they are! But Tabu, Kareena and Kriti make materialism look so mouthwateringly desirable, it would be a shame to wag our fingers at them for going off the righteous path...
