Bradley Stryker and Justin Hartley in ‘Tracker’ episode 3
Colter (Justin Hartley) heads to the sleepy little town of Springland on the way to a job as CBS’s Tracker episode three gets underway. After a brief check-in with Velma (Abby McEnany), Teddi (Robin Weigert), and their adorable Corgi about his next job locating a vintage Shelby Cobra, Colter pops into a restaurant for a quick bite.
There’s a bit of a ruckus in the restaurant when diners spot a woman leaving flyers on the cars in the parking lot. A waitress warns him not to get involved, but of course, Colter doesn’t listen. He steps in as a male diner confronts the woman, and the angry dude decides a verbal warning isn’t enough. He pulls out a knife and slits Colter’s front tire.
The man’s friends arrive to back him up, and he mistakenly believes that Colter will stop interfering.

CBS’s Tracker premiered after the Super Bowl, a time slot that usually benefits from having the Big Game as a lead-in. Unfortunately, this year’s Super Bowl went into overtime, which meant episode one was delayed on the East Coast until 11pm. After the ratings were revealed, it turned out the late start did not affect viewership, with the series premiere bringing in 18.4 million viewers. That makes Tracker the most-watched primetime entertainment program after the Super Bowl since 2021’s debut of The Equalizer.
Episode two, “Missoula,” settles into the series’ regular time slot, airing on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 9pm Et/Pt. Justin Hartley leads the cast as Colter Shaw, Fiona Rene plays Reenie Green, and Robin Weigert is Teddi. Abby McEnany stars as Velma and Eric Graise is Bobby Exley.
“Missoula” Plot: Colter tracks down a missing young man who has been pulled into a deadly cult and doesn’t want to be found.

When it was originally announced that CBS was doing a series based on the main character from Jeffrey Deaver’s novel The Never Game, it was called The Never Game, which made sense.
Several months later, CBS announced that the series, created by Ben H. Winters, was changing its title to Tracker, a name that I rather consistently confuse with Amazon’s Lee Child series, Reacher.
This also makes sense and, in fact, borders on ideal for CBS. With Reacher following recent streaming protocol and producing eight-episode seasons that can air “whenever the pieces come together,” there is probably an audience appetite for a cut-rate version — a series that delivers a lot of the same lizard-brain pleasures on a broadcast schedule capable of producing 15 or even 22 episodes of lone-wolf vigilante justice in easily digestible 41-minute weekly morsels.
So if you accept that Tracker isn’t exactly Reacher 2.0, but it’s...

Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw in ‘Tracker’ season 1 episode 1
CBS’s new primetime action-drama, Tracker, is set to premiere in the coveted timeslot immediately following Super Bowl Lviii. The Big Game is always a big draw, but even more viewers are expected to tune in because of the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce romance. CBS has high hopes those viewers will stick around to check out Justin Hartley taking on the lead role in Tracker after six seasons on This Is Us.
Tracker is based on Jeffrey Deaver’s bestselling novel The Never Game and stars Hartley as Colter Shaw, a survivalist who travels via Rv all over the country to find missing people (or items) and collect the rewards. Colter, who prefers to be known as a “rewardist” rather than bounty hunter, has support from a close-knit team played by Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany, Eric Graise, and Fiona Rene.

Justin Hartley is heading back to the Super Bowl. Hartley’s new CBS drama “Tracker” has landed the best lead-in imaginable for a series premiere: The show has landed the coveted post-Super Bowl slot next season, launching behind Super Bowl Lviii on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024.
Hartley, of course, knows a thing or two about that slot. As one of the stars of NBC’s “This Is Us,” he watched a Crock Pot tear his TV family apart in that show’s very special “Super Bowl Sunday” episode, airing right after the big game in 2018.
In premiering “Tracker” after the Super Bowl, CBS continues its return to the once-common practice of using the biggest night on TV to launch a new series. The last time CBS ran the game, in 2021, the network premiered “The Equalizer” behind Super Bowl Lv. (It worked: “The Equalizer” is still on the air.) The time before that,...

Justin Hartley's comeback to the small screen has landed an updated title.
CBS revealed this week that the new drama series will now be known as Tracker.
When the show was first announced and ordered, it was called The Never Game.
While a premiere date has not been set, CBS has announced that Tracker will debut during the 2023-24 season.
We don't know whether that will be a fall or midseason bow, but CBS will promote Tracker to try and lure the This Is Us audience over to the new show.
Us TV Fanatics will follow Hartley anywhere, and the concept for his new show sounds pretty good.
Tracker features Hartley as lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw, who roams the country as a "reward seeker," using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.
