Though likely shot before he gave literally the one Academy Awards speech worth anything on this godforsaken earth, we can submit his new Prada ad starring Scarlett Johansson as evidence that Jonathan Glazer––whatever that weird, genocide-denying Google Doc literally anyone could sign implies––will endure. His first work since The Zone of Interest and ten-years-on Under the Skin reunion fuses a Persona-like fixation on one of the world’s most famous faces with words from Macbeth and Antony and Cleopatra, the latter a text I assume nobody but unhappy, difficult people (hello) are reading nowadays.
This is ultimately a luxury-design ad that only takes 95 seconds to watch so let’s not waste any more breath, though––while you’re here––you’re welcome to read my interview with Zone of Interest Dp Łukasz Żal for a closer look at the making of Glazer’s perplexing picture.

Spoiler Alert: This article contains details of tonight’s The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1 finale.
“There was always something about the connection of these two characters,” Danai Gurira says of The Walking Dead’s Michonne and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the reunion of the lovers over near-insurmountable odds and legions of Walkers in spinoff series The Ones Who Live. “The plan was always that we would complete this love story in a new form.”
It is fitting in many ways that Michonne and Rick’s love story comes full circle on a day of renewal like Easter Sunday. While there is no official word whether there will be more The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live or Michonne and Rick, certainly the saving of swaths of humanity and the reunion with their children Judith (Cailey Fleming) and R.J. (Antony Azor) at the end of tonight...

However, a mere six months before his death, Perdomo was under a lot of controversy over his life’s choices, specifically those that were related to his social media activity. In fact, this is even said to have affected his connection to The Boys spin-off series, considering how he was cut off from the show’s promo following his online cancelation despite being one of the lead actors in it.

When director Ridley Scott was promoting his latest—and we might argue funniest—historical epic back in November, the filmmaker spoke with pride about the film addressing Napoleon Bonaparte’s legendary campaign into Egypt. As Scott pointed out to Deadline, no previous film about the Frenchman who plunged Europe into decades of war had also addressed his misadventures in North Africa and the Near East too.
“I saw these wonderful two paintings,” Scott said at the time. “One was of a man sitting on a horse staring at the Sphinx, and it was Napoleon. So I thought I had to have that because no one has done the Egyptian campaign. And the truth [is] they took it over pretty easily.”
He is partially right. Napoleon did indeed conquer Egypt with relative ease in 1798. Keeping the land proved to be another story entirely, one which Scott’s Napoleon glosses over in its...

On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself.

Antony is the new film directed by Joshiy, and it has its own universe that it’s trying to sell. There have been many ‘father-son’ stories in cinema, but Antony has a father-daughter conflict right at the heart of its plot. The interesting thing about the film is that it is filled with violent action scenes, slow-motion shots, and loud Bgm, and all this tries to hide the fact that we are watching a melodrama unfold where a young girl wants a father figure in her life and thinks she has found it in a goon. It is a hard sell for various reasons, but conviction in the story and its execution is evident, which is why Antony becomes an entertaining potboiler with a charismatic performance by Joju George.

The first trailer for If the Stars Had a Sound, the forthcoming documentary about the Scottish band Mogwai, is cloaked in a feeling somewhere in between serenity and unease. The documentary — which will premiere at South by Southwest in March — originally began as a short film about leaving Scotland but, over time, morphed into an examination of how Mogwai reflects the same dichotomy between light and dark as their home country does.
“Scottland is a country of binaries. You see them everywhere. You go to Glasgow, it’s Celtics or Rangers.
