The Harry Potter franchise introduced several characters over the course of time. Beyond the three primary characters— Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger— the hit film series also provided several memorable characters and they have all been crucial to the movies in the franchise.

Notwithstanding the iconic nature of the Harry Potter IP, it is one of the most astonishing works of imagination and creativity combined. But bringing the words from a literary franchise to life cannot be so easy. As such, Rupert Grint became one of the primary victims of the repercussions that came with getting cast in the live-action film series as one of the three main characters.

The deaths of Dumbledore, Sirius Black, and Remus Lupin were some of the most shocking and heartbreaking moments of the Harry Potter franchise. These deaths were not only some of the saddest moments in the books but also left their impact on Harry’s life, in one way or another.
Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Goblet Of Fire | Warner Bros.
However, it seems that these deaths were foreshadowed heavily, as revealed when Professor Trelawney enters the great hall during Christmas celebrations. The hall is sparsely populated, with only 12 students and professors there. When asked by Dumbledore to join the host at the Great Hall, Trelawney is quick to point out that her joining them would make the total number of people there 13, and that there is “nothing more unlucky”.

As the world eagerly anticipates a magical resurgence, Max’s Harry Potter TV series promises to cast a revitalizing charm on J.K. Rowling’s beloved Wizarding World. This comes after the spellbinding success of Warner Bros.’ eight-film juggernaut that captured our imaginations from 2001 to 2011, with Daniel Radcliffe’s portrayal of the boy wizard etching an indelible mark in cinematic history.

That being said, fans have been yearning for a cameo from the actor in Max’s upcoming series because of his strong bond with Potter’s character. Radcliffe has addressed these demands and cameo rumors on multiple occasions. According to the London-born actor, “it would work” for him to appear in the new reboot, as he recently told E! News.

The Harry Potter franchise made worldwide stars of its main three actors, who portray Harry, Hermione and Ron. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson seem to be in sight after the last Hp movie was released in 2011, while the fate of Rupert Grint, who played the most awkward and the youngest son of the Weasley family, is lesser known.
It turns out that after starring in Harry Potter, which was quite a challenge to Grint, he preferred to explore indie films and take the unexpectedly extravagant roles.
His first post-Potter project was the 2012 war drama Into the White, and the actor’s feisty character was definitely a far cry from Ron Weasley.
This trend continued in the 2013 biopic Cbgb, where Grint reunited with the Severus Snape actor, Alan Rickman, with them playing drastically different roles they had in Hp. Besides, that year is remarkable for the actor’s appearance in Charlie Countryman.

Daniel Radcliffe will forever be known as the ‘Boy Who Lived’ as he played the character of Harry Potter in the adaptation of Jk Rowling’s fantasy novels. The actor grew up with the Harry Potter franchise, beginning his tenure at the age of 12. Since the franchise ended, he has been experimenting with his roles and has starred in a long list of indie films.
Radcliffe mentioned that though he is grateful for all that the Harry Potter films gave him, he almost considered leaving it midway through the franchise. He said how he was having second thoughts as his life had changed since he was cast in the films. However, he decided against it and saw the franchise through to its end.

In his monologue heading into Mother’s Day weekend, Jimmy Fallon tried to offer some (comedic) advice for former President Donald Trump.
“This Sunday is Mother’s Day,” Fallon began. “So, for the next 48 hours, if you see an Amazon delivery van, pull over like it’s an ambulance, Ok?”
He continued, noting that people will spend around $250 on Mother’s Day gifts.
“But don’t worry, the best gift is free — which is taking the kids somewhere so mom can have five minutes of peace!” Fallon quipped. “That’s what they want.”
“Also, just a quick word of advice to former President Trump,” Fallon added, addressing the Republican candidate. “Whatever you were thinking of spending on Melania this year, I’d double it.”

7. Ron Fought a Troll for a Girl He Hated
Ron Weasley might have grown into a bigger hater later, especially when it came to Slytherins, but when he was only 11 years old, he faced a giant troll just to save an annoying girl he didn’t even like. Later that year, he willingly sacrificed himself so that Harry and Hermione could move further into the quest, not knowing if he’d even live.
6. Ron Faced His Biggest Fear for a Friend
Spiders have always been Ron Weasley’s worst fear. Needless to say, Ron was absolutely terrified of the Acromantulas as they were virtually just huge man-eating spiders. Despite that, the then 12-year-old boy faced his greatest phobia to help Harry, and we’re not even mentioning other things that lived in the Forbidden Forest.
5. Ron Risked Everything for His Sister
When little Ginny was kidnapped, Ron wasn’t much older than her.

Harry Potter’s franchise has surely enriched the cinematic world with a myriad of fascinating scenes that couldn’t have made it to the screen without a very special equipment or the actors’ challenging role.
In some cases both of these things were required — and, if it hadn’t been for them, one of the franchise’s most jaw-dropping scenes would’ve never been possible.
The beginning of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 features Harry’s reunion with his friends and the Order of the Phoenix members while they try to decide how to transport Harry to Ron Weasley’s family house without any jeopardy of exposing his location to Voldemort.
As Harry’s mother’s protective spell is about to end, he can’t rely on this anymore — instead, there’s another, quite challenging, method.

Daniel Radcliffe has offered his latest words of support for the trans community while discussing Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling’s history of anti-trans comments in a new interview with The Atlantic.
“Obviously Harry Potter would not have happened without her, so nothing in my life would have probably happened the way it is without that person,” Radcliffe told The Atlantic. “But that doesn’t mean that you owe the things you truly believe to someone else for your entire life.”
Rowling’s focus on trans people — specifically trans women — is a well-documented saga that often involves the author offering unsolicited comments on trans legislation and related dialogue. Last month, Rowling responded to a fan asking if she would ever “forgive” Radcliffe and his former co-star Emma Watson for speaking out against her views by saying they could “save their apologies.”

It’s that time of the year again when we discuss the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Penned by J.K. Rowling, the Harry Potter books were something iconic that changed the genre of magic and spells. The faithful film adaptations added more charm to the books and made Rowling worldwide famous.
With iconic characters Harry, Ron, and, Hermione on a quest to save the world, the characters were quite phenomenal in their own way. Well…most of them. Ron Weasely, portrayed by Rupert Grint, could have been more than a third-wheel but it was Rowling’s emotional choice that saved Ron Weasely from trauma (and character development)!

There’s absolutely no doubt that the Harry Potter’s book series and followed movie franchise are all about the tension that grows as the action proceeds, especially when it comes to Harry Potter himself.
Following the life of a wizard boy that at some point has to fight the world’s most powerful evil magician, the books and the books-based films surely have a lot of dramatical plot twists that are always there to thrill the viewers — but sometimes even Harry Potter’s story had an unnecessary drama.
Though the movie franchise is entirely based on J.K. Rowling’s book series, every so often the directors felt some need to step away from the original plot by adding something of their own to a specific film.

The first book in the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone" ("Sorcerer's Stone" here in the States) was first published in June of 1997. It was written by author J.K. Rowling, long before she had been driven mad by an infuriating streak of unabashed transphobia that she insists on adhering to. Thanks to years of bigoted screaming, Rowling's legacy has been wholly tainted, and it's hard to read her lighthearted children's fantasy books without thinking of her poisonous worldview. If one checks out the Harry Potter books from the library, however, one can still enjoy the adventures and complex Wizarding World of Harry Potter without giving Rowling another dime.
Before her mind snapped open in public, however, the Harry Potter books — and their subsequent movie adaptations — were widely beloved. The title character was an impoverished 11-year-old who was forced to live in a closet with his abusive aunt and uncle.

It was revealed this morning that Michael Gambon had died at the age of 82. Tributes to the late actor have poured in from all corners of Hollywood, including those he worked with on the Harry Potter movies.
Michael Gambon is best known as Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts. He took over the role from Richard Harris, who played the character in the first two movies before he passed away. Stepping into a role played so memorably by another actor is no small thing, but Gambon quickly made Dumbledore his own.
In a statement, Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe paid tribute to Michael Gambon. “With the loss of Michael Gambon the world just became considerably less fun,” Radcliffe wrote. “Michael Gambon was one of the most brilliant, effortless actors I’ve ever had the privilege of working with, but despite his immense talent, the thing I will remember most about him...

A little over a decade ago, actors Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint stood on a train platform, with questionable “middle age” makeup applied, and waved goodbye. Their characters were saying goodbye to their onscreen kids, but they were really waving farewell to millions of moviegoers and readers who grew up with their versions of Harry, Hermione, and Ron. In a way, the actors were also bidding adieu to their onscreen characters.
Admittedly a decade is not a super long time (though it’s a lifetime as far as media company CEOs anxious to exploit IP are concerned). Yet in these past 10 years, we’ve watched thespians we once knew as children mature into grown-up working actors, and some of the favorites who played their teachers and mentors go on to win Oscars and greater acclaim. Below are some of the best roles the Harry Potter cast has achieved since graduating from Hogwarts.

Despite the damage author J.K. Rowling has done to her own legacy, the Harry Potter films gave us some wonderful actors like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley). It also showcased actors at the top of their field, like the late Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) and Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore). They might seem like unlikely people to take on a series of films about kids with magic (they do tell you never to work with animals or children), yet they are beloved for their performances.
As it turns out, Rickman and Gambon had a bit of fun with their roles and the kids they were acting with. They played a major prank on Daniel Radcliffe during a big scene where all the students are sleeping in sleeping bags in the Great Hall, according to a 2014 Reddit Ama that Radcliffe did to promote his film "Horns.

Ginny Weasley was measly in the “Harry Potter” film franchise. At least when it came to lines, said Bonnie Wright, the woman who played the character.
Wright, now 32, was just 9 years old when she was cast as Ginny Weasley, the sister of Ron Weasley (played by Rupert Grint in the films) and future wife of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe).
On Tuesday’s episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast, Wright expressed disappointment that Ginny was not more prominent in the films.
“I definitely feel there was anxiety toward performing and doing the best thing as my character built,” Wright said. “Like, Oh gosh, will I do justice to this character that people love? So that was always hard to do, especially when, inevitably, a lot of the scenes of every character were chopped down from the book to the film. So you didn’t really have as much to show in the film.

When one thinks of rappers, many names immediately come to mind. I feel pretty confident when I say that Rupert Grint isn't one of them. However, the actor who played Ron Weasley in the "Harry Potter" franchise is just that. Sort of. The films, based on the books of very problematic author J.K. Rowling, were highly anticipated even before they were cast, and fans all over the world (including myself) were excited to see who would play the unexpected wizard Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), the brilliant Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), and the loyal Ronald Weasley. To get the role, Grint did something to stand out from the crowd. He rapped on his audition tape, as he told Rosie O'Donnell on her talk show in 2001.
It's hard to imagine anyone other than Grint playing the role now, but with the books as popular back then as they were, an unexpected rap...

You’re a wizard indeed–and only a wizard could work the sort of spell that was cast over children and adults all over the world beginning in the late ‘90s, turning the wildly successful Harry Potter books (we’re talking 120 million copies sold here) into one of the most profitable franchises ever.
With J.K. Rowling watching over the production diligently (sometimes to a fault), Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone aka …Sorcerer’s Stone was a marvel of an adaptation. And what eventually arrived didn’t come from a burly half-giant, but rather a wide-eyed cast of newcomers, a visionary crew conjuring the proper vision and the guy who directed Adventures in Babysitting…
So put on your sorting hat and head for Platform 9 ¾ as we find out…Wtf Happened to this movie?!
The making of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone goes back to 1997, the same year the novel was published.

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez doesn’t take too much notice of J.K. Rowling’s controversial comments about the transgender community.
Rodriguez — who became the first trans star to win a Golden Globe for “Pose” last year — told Variety when asked about her reaction to Rowling’s suggestion that trans women should not be considered women: “Some of the stuff that she says really doesn’t faze me so much.
