The gaming industry saw a huge bump in popularity in the early 2000s and 2010s. These times introduced many new advancements in graphics and innovation when it came to developing mechanics for gamers to play around with. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell was one of the many video game franchises that was able to make a name for itself during this period of game development.

Elden Ring is one of the most successful video game titles in recent times and has even managed to win the 2022 Game of the Year award. What it offers to the player is a unique open-world experience of a kind never seen before, all thanks to the brilliance of the game’s director, Hidetaka Miyazaki.
The player gets to come across many characters in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Elden Ring.
One of the game’s best features is how the players come across a large number of characters in their journey to become the Elden Lord. While many of these turn out to be hostile to the players, some of them end up being loved unconditionally by the fans, and one would have a hard time believing how Ranni the Witch, a fellow Npc is voiced by an actress who also stars in the popular show, Peaky Blinders.

One of the core components of a video game is the cast that has been put behind the in-game characters. Not only do they give their voice to the character, but ultimately bring it to life making the experience worthwhile. While popular franchises, such as Final Fantasy are known for sticking with renowned actors to voice their characters, their one decision has proved to be for the worse according to their player base.
Final Fantasy cast Tyler Hoechlin for the role of Sephiroth in the games
The character of Sephiroth has always been an iconic one and was voiced by George Newbern before the year 2020. Newbern’s voice was unfortunately retired 4 years ago, and the replacement was none other than Tyler Hoechlin, an actor known for his work as Superman in CW’s Superman and Lois.

[Spoiler Alert: This interview includes details about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth]
The highly anticipated action-adventure RPG Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has finally been unleashed into the Chocobo wilds.
Rebirth, the second game in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy that serves as a three-part reimagining of the original 1997 game, follows everyone’s favorite ragtag eco-terrorists Cloud (Cody Christian), Barret (John Eric Bentley), Tifa (Britt Baron), Aerith (Briana White) and Red Xiii (Max Mittelman) as they make the perilous journey to The Forgotten Capital in hopes to stop the legendary solider and deranged superhuman Sephiroth from plunging the planet into chaos.
Bringing the Final Fantasy VII Remake project to fruition was no easy feat as developers had to tackle maintaining a balance between the beloved story that has permeated video game pop culture for nearly three decades and creating new experiences for a new generation of fans while expanding on the original material for diehards. Much like its predecessor, the scope of...

This article contains spoilers for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
If you thought Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a mind-blowing re-imagining of Final Fantasy 7, just wait until you try to wrap your head around Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The Final Fantasy team has their gloves off at this point, and they’re crafting a story that is proving to be every bit as convoluted and confusing as the “best” of the Kingdom Hearts series.
So, while we’re going to dive into Rebirth‘s final moments to help make sense of everything, I should emphasize that so much of this game is clearly meant to be left up to interpretation (at least for the moment). I will offer some theories about what all of this may mean, but there are certain answers we’re just not yet meant to know quite yet.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has finally been released worldwide. This installment of the remake trilogy follows the success of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake from 2020 and will explore areas and regions beyond Midgar, which was the only fraction of the original version covered in the first game. While the game will cover a significant amount of content, justifying the decision to have two discs in the package, there seems to be a mistake for early adopters in Asia and Japan. However, Square Enix and Sony’s launch fumble is not particularly consequential.
Day one buyers are in for a treat for they are about to experience one of the biggest games this year, unfortunately, they might have to wait a bit longer while installing the game on their PS5s. There has been a mistake in labeling the discs, initially, players should always insert the data disc first and then play disc but in this case,...

Square Enix is smashing it with its remakes of Final Fantasy 7, a title that originally came out nearly three decades ago and definitely feels outdated. So, revamping it using modern technological upgrades was a genius move, and as fans look forward to seeing the second chapter of the story unfold on February 29, there’s one celebrity who has been a Final Fantasy fan since the seventh-numbered game in the series was released in 1997.

There’s a famed scene in Peter Jackson’s The Fellowship of the Ring that doesn’t appear in J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel. During a quaint moment at the start of their epic journey, Sean Astin’s Samwise Gamgee stops midstride in a grassy field, gripped by a sudden realization. “If I take one more step, it’ll be the farthest away from home I’ve ever been,” he says. And with Frodo’s encouragement, he does, and nothing about their journey is quaint ever again.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been a long time coming, with it being the second entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. It’s truly amazing how big the scope is. Rebirth takes everything that Remake introduced and made it even bigger, now adding a fully explorable open world. While the real-time combat doesn’t get much of an overhaul, what makes Rebirth stand out from its predecessor is the sheer amount of content. With an excellent story, tons of side quests, and a whole world to explore, Rebirth is one of the best games of 2024 so far. Rebirth takes place right after the events of Remake when the party leaves Midgar. Here, the party seeks to stop both the megacorporation, Shinra, and Sephiroth from destroying the planet. Rebirth ’s gigantic scope is a double-edged sword for its story. Spread across 14 chapters, sometimes the story’s momentum slows down...

After Final Fantasy VII Remake shattered almost every expectation of what a remake could be, it feels like a deliberate act of comfort that the first chapter of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is so very familiar: the flashback to Cloud’s last mission with Sephiroth.
It begins with a long truck ride, where we find a young, doe-eyed Cloud doing stretches ahead of helping his hometown of Nibelheim with its monster problem while his team leader, Sephiroth, watches on with detached amusement. The same niceties that resulted in a more detailed Midgar in Remake help paint an even more detailed one of the flashback scene in Rebirth compared to the original Final Fantasy VII. Walking into Nibelheim, Sephiroth is almost a warm, doting presence, genuinely curious about the idea of having a hometown to return to. Cloud himself gets to wander the city, including its alleyways full of stray cats,...

While 2020’s Final Fantasy 7 remake controversially changed many elements of the original game, the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to significantly alter even more aspects of the classic RPG. In a new blog post, the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth team hinted at how those changes will impact two fan-favorite characters: Sephiroth and Aerith.
In the parts of the original Final Fantasy 7 adventure that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will remake and re-imagine, Sephiroth was still something of a mystery. Though players were aware of the character by that point, he wouldn’t become a larger player in the narrative until a little later in the game. However, the version of Sephiroth that we’ll see in Rebirth will be a much more active participant in that specific part of the experience.

If it ain’t broke, the saying goes, don’t fix it. That makes Square Enix’s job with the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth an interesting one. After all, the developer broke Final Fantasy VII on purpose with Remake and now it’s begun the daunting task of not just fixing it, but crafting new bespoke parts that make for a good fit with the original game.
Granted, Square has a lot more freedom to do so, thanks to a barn-burner of a canon-busting climax for Ffvii Remake, but if anything, that means that the job is even more precarious. I was able to play a demo of Ffvii Rebirth at a closed-door event, and having put a bit of time into it, it’s at least obvious that Square is up to the task and taking some big swings. The Final Fantasy series is one of the longest-running and most successful RPG franchises in video game history. Square Enix (originally Squaresoft) has produced 16 main entries, as well as countless remakes and spin-offs. Most Final Fantasy games are one-and-done adventures, as their stories end once the credits roll (unless they receive Dlc or a sequel). To facilitate this sense of finality, every Final Fantasy entry ends with all questions answered and all loose plot threads tied up. Ok, not really. Almost had you going there, though.
Many Final Fantasy games contain design elements, story beats, and even thematic elements that are never fully answered, leaving fans to scrounge for answers. And whenever that happens, fan theories aren’t far behind. Gamers have the unearthly talent to comb through insane amounts of data and use even the tiniest bits of info, from obscure Npc dialogues to cut content, to extrapolate explanations.

Mascot fighters live and die by the quality of their rosters. Super Smash Bros. probably wouldn’t be half as popular as it is if the game didn’t feature an all-star cast of characters voiced by fitting actors. While MultiVersus doesn’t play exactly like Super Smash Bros., it still recognizes the importance of a strong roster.
MultiVersus may still technically be in its beta period, but the game is quickly expanding its library of playable characters. Currently, the title sports 17 playable characters with an additional two confirmed fighters, Rick and Morty, on the way. Given all the leaks we’ve heard and progress we’ve seen, it’s only a matter of time until even more recognizable characters make the jump to MultiVersus.

After a series of somewhat underwhelming reveals, Nintendo came through by confirming that Sephiroth will be the next character to join the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster.
This makes Sephiroth the third character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s second Fighter Pass following the debuts of Min Min from Arms and Steve: he whose fame derives largely (though not entirely) from the realm, kingdom, and universe of Minecraft.
More importantly, the addition of Sephiroth to the Smash Bros. roster means that it’s now possible to pit Sephiroth against fellow Final Fantasy 7 legend cloud within the unique confines of Nintendo’s massive fighting game. Since it may be a while before we get to play the next chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, this could be your best chance to watch those two square off for quite some time.

Final Fantasy VII might look like a relic from some bygone era by today’s standards but back in 1997, Square Enix’s acclaimed RPG captured the hearts and minds of all who experienced the adventures of Cloud Strife and his friends in their quest to put the tyrannical plans of Sephiroth to an end.
One particularly memorable scene – and one that’s since achieved legendary status among fans – that unfolds during the original game’s story shows Aerith, the last Ancient, murdered in cold blood by Sephiroth in an attempt to thwart the heroes’ only hope of victory. For a game developer to not only kill off a primary protagonist but to do so in such an explicit way was a watershed moment for the medium and one that undoubtedly caused tears to flow for millions who witnessed it.

As “Death Stranding” illustrated last fall, the relationship between film and interactive storytelling is evolving at warp speed — especially as “cinematic” video games continue to explore the various ways that having a controller in your hands might complicate and transform the way we engage with visual narratives. When Kingdom Hearts was first announced as a PlayStation 2 game about 20 years ago, it sounded insane. An action RPG collaboration between Square Enix and Disney in which the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney collide? How’s that going to work? I’m honestly still not sure, but the surreal concept was a smash hit, spawning a thirteen game series in which hero Sora and his buddies Donald and Goofy journey through worlds based on iconic Disney movies.
The most recent entry in the series was last year’s PlayStation 4 game Kingdom Hearts 3. This was a barnstorming success, selling 5 million copies in its first week of release, making it the both the fastest and best-selling in the franchise’s history. And now it seems that Disney wants to capitalize on its popularity.

However, there is nothing more surprising about Final Fantasy 7 Remake than the game’s ending. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake ending is already generating heated discussions and debates amongst excited fans who are not only eager to discuss what they just saw but what it all means for the remake (and the franchise) moving forward.
