Sci-fi drama series “Brave New World” has been canceled by Peacock after one season, Variety has confirmed. The show’s studio, Universal Content Productions, will attempt to sell it to other outlets.
Developed by David Wiener, “Brave New World” was part of Peacock’s original rollout and was the streamer’s only scripted series at the time of its launch in July.

An artificial intelligence system called Indra is also put in place to connect citizens via a wireless network, and people are ranked based on their adherence to the society’s rules. But the sow takes a turn when citizens Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne travel to the Savage Lands where they become involved in a rebellion and are eventually rescued by John the Savage,...

NBCUniversal revealed a lot of details regarding their new streaming service, which is called Peacock, which is obviously a nod to NBC’s iconic logo.
The company also unveiled its initial programming slate. We already reported on the reboot of Battlestar Galactica from Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail, as well as Saved By the Bell with Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Elizabeth Berkley set to star; and Punky Brewster, with Soleil Moon Frye set to reprise her role as the title character.
There are a lot of other original shows coming to Peacock, though, along with catalogue series and library films. There will also be original films that will be created by Universal Pictures, Focus Features, and DreamWorks Animation.
Peacock will launch in April of 2020. It will be both advertising and subscription supported streaming service. Details on pricing and distribution will be announced as it gets closer to launch.

Attention Potterheads: If you want to watch Tom Felton and Natalia Tena’s new YouTube Premium series, “Origin,” for the “Harry Potter” franchise reunion, that’s fine by Felton.
But, just know, the actor is going to call you out for playing fast and loose with the “reunion” phrasing here. After all, Draco Malfoy and Nymphadora Tonks never once met on screen — meaning that “Origin” actually marks Felton and Tena’s first time working together.
“Oh, I embrace it,” Felton told TheWrap when asked if he’s Ok with fans who are tuning in for what we’ve now clarified is not a reunion. ” Any reason that anyone wants to watch it is fine by me. No, Nat and I were actually having a bit of a laugh about this the other day. And Nat and I have never worked together before. We never saw each other once while shooting ‘Harry Potter.

We talked to the cast and creator of YouTube Red's Origin, the streaming giant's next foray into original drama.
On November 14th, YouTube will combine the chocolate and peanut butter of genres with a relatively new format: the streaming service original drama.
The show is called Origin. It boasts two former Harry Potter actors in Tom Felton and Natalia Tena (the latter of whom is perhaps better known for Game of Thrones), high production values, and a new showrunning voice in Mika Watkins.
"I think it's a very versatile show," said Tom Felton when Den of Geek talked to the Origin cast and creator at last month's New York Comic Con. "I think people of all ilks will enjoy it. If you're into sci-fi, if you're in to characters, or if you're into the idea of the near distant future and what's going to be available to us.

The cast and creators of YouTube’s Origin landed at San Diego Comic-Con to give the confab the first look at the show which is a mash-up of Lost, Alien, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers to tell a multi-layered sci-fi treat.
“I don’t think Origin isn’t just one thing — it’s many different things,” said show creator Mika Wika Watkins. She says that its exciting that she gets to write a sci-fi show, but it jumps to different genres, exploring the Japanese mafia, German noir, and even a Vr love story.
The first trailer dropped before the panel (watch above) and says, “This is a new world, where your history no longer has any relevance.” And if I’m being honest, it is an unexpected impressive thrill. Based on the trailer alone, YouTube is coming through with some sci-fi realness.
