If you’re hearing Taylor Swift and MCU in the same sentence, you’re probably inclined to re-read that sentence again, but this is exactly what we’ve been reading about for the past several months as Swift is one of the rumored cameos to appear in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine. The singer should appear as Dazzler, and the rumors were so persistent that Reynolds and director Shawn Levy himself addressed them on several occasions.
Now that the movie is slowly moving toward its release, the rumors are louder than ever but recently, a different kind of chatter online appeared, Taylor Swift is indeed coming to the MCU but not as Dazzler, in her own standalone show as Blonde Phantom.
This is according to Daniel Richtman notable scooper and industry insider. According to him the actress already met with execs to work out the details as she is among the prime...

Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums list today named its top 10 albums of all-time, with The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill crowned No. 1.
“This is my award,” Hill said to Apple Music, “but it’s a rich, deep narrative, and involves so many people, and so much sacrifice, and so much time, and so much collective love.”
Last year was the album’s 25th anniversary, and its success was overwhelming upon release. It won five Grammys, three American Music Awards, and a Billboard, Soul Train and MTV Video Music Award while selling 30 million copies since its bow.
But instead of capitalizing on it, Hill became one of music’s biggest enigmas. Her output diminished after an MTV Unplugged follow-up acoustic album, reverting to sporadic singles and rare appearances.

The 2007 John C. Reilly comedy Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story has become a cult hit in recent years, largely as a result of the skill with which it dissects and eviscerates the genre it satirizes.
The film so deftly laid bare the tropes and cliches of the rock star biopic that many predicted it would forever change the way filmmakers approached stories about dead celebs.
And for a while, it seemed like the trick had worked.
Leaving aside for a moment any discussion about the quality of these films, there's no denying that Elvis, Blonde, Maestro, Jackie, Priscilla, and Oppenheimer all offered new takes on a very familiar subgenre.
(That last one, admittedly, is a bit of an outlier, as we're not sure if a theoretical physicist -- even one who altered the course of world history -- can properly be called a celebrity.)

Ana de Armas talked about learning English when she moved to the US during her Saturday Night Livehosting debut on Saturday (15 April).
Starting her monologue, the Cuban star of Blonde and Bond film No Time to Die greeted the audience in Spanish, before opening up about her experience coming to the United States.
“I speak English,” de Armas said, “But I didn’t when I first got to the US. I was born in Cuba. I came to America when I was 26, and I learned English the way everyone who comes to this country does: by watching Friends.”
She joked: “Who would have thought that the best English tutor would be Chandler Bing?”
De Armas then did an impression of the fan-favorite sitcom character, saying: “I mean look at me now – could I be any better at English?”

This is not a drill: "Heat 2" may finally be happening. That's right, nearly 30 years after director Michael Mann delivered one of the greatest crime films ever made with 1995's "Heat," Warner Bros. is getting behind a potential new film. What's more, none other than Adam Driver is in talks to star. And that could just be the tip of the iceberg, but we'll get to that.
The news comes to us via Deadline, who confirms rumors that have been swirling for weeks regarding the status of the project. Warner Bros. is backing the development of the film, which would be based on 2022's novel "Heat 2," which was written by Mann and Meg Gardiner (read our review of it here). Driver, meanwhile, would star as a young Neil McCauley, who was played by Robert De Niro in the original. It's worth noting that Driver is currently working with Mann on "Ferrari,...

Before the gongs were given out for the best flicks at Sunday’s 2023 Oscars, the Razzies honoured what they considered to be the worst.
“Blonde”, starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe, led this year’s noms with eight, while Machine Gun Kelly’s “Good Mourning” nabbed seven, and “Blonde” ended up “winning” the Worst Picture award.

Michelle Yeoh made Oscars history as the first Asian woman to win Best Actress.
Yeoh, 60, accepted her award for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once as Evelyn Wang, a Chinese first-generation immigrant and laundromat owner.
She was up against Cate Blanchett (Tár), Ana de Armas (Blonde), Michelle Williams (The Fabelmans) and Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie). Before Sunday night’s ceremony, Yeoh had already won several awards, including a Golden Globe, an Independent Spirit Award and a SAG Award.
Yeoh received a standing ovation from her peers, and actress Halle Berry became emotional while presenting her with the award. Yeoh became the second-ever woman of color to win Best Actress. Berry was the first with her performance in Monster’s Ball in 2001.
In her acceptance speech, the actress said, “For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibility.

It was a night of few surprises. The 2023 Academy Awards, held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (13 March), went ahead after two years marred by incident – first Covid, then an on-stage altercation.
In comparison, this year’s affair, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, was rather muted, with the awards themselves being dominated by one serial winner: the goofy multiverse comedy-drama Everything Everywhere All at Once.
The ceremony did, however, throw up a number of memorable moments, whether they were scripted – such as Kimmel’s dig at Matt Damon, re-awakening a long-held feud – or spontaneous, such as Elizabeth Banks’s graceful recovery after almost tripping over her particularly ornate dress.
Among the other highlights of the evening were the directors of Short Film winner An Irish Goodbye leading the auditorium in a rendition of “Happy Birthday”, and the heartfelt speech from Best Supporting Actor winner Ke Huy Quan.

For most of her career, Rihanna had been making hit after hit — from her 2005 debut, Pon de Replay, to her 2007 Grammy-winning single, Umbrella, and her 2016 No. 1 hit, Work. However, after reaching what many perceived to be her artistic pinnacle with her last album Anti, the pop superstar seemed to have disappeared from the music industry.
It’s been seven long years since Rihanna released an album, and fans have been waiting with bated breath for her next musical offering. But as it turns out, the Diamonds singer has a relatable reason for waiting this long to release a new album.

Blonde and Elvis were among the winners at the 2023 Golden Raspberry Awards.
The awards, known as the Razzies, take place the weekend of the Academy Awards and celebrate the very ‘worst’ in film.
While many of the films nominated did not make it near this year’s Oscars, there is some crossover, with Ana de Armas’s Marilyn Monroe drama Blonde picking up the gong for Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay. De Armas is nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars for her performance in the film.
This year’s Razzies were mired with controversy following backlash for their decision to nominate 12-year-old Firestarter star Ryan Kiera Armstrong for Worst Actress.
Writing in The Independent, Jacob Stolworthy said that “to nominate an Oscar winner, or someone with proven bankable success to their name, is acceptable; to highlight the performance of someone as young as 12 is not just tacky – it’s fairly reprehensible”.

Blonde has been “honored” with two Golden Raspberry Awards — aka the Razzies — which also bestowed an award upon themselves for the first time in the group’s history.
Andrew Dominik’s film, which led the Razzies with eight nominations, won worst picture of the year along with worst screenplay for Dominik. The Razzies called the film “misogynistic, salacious and fallacious” and said it “shamelessly exploits the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe.”
The Razzie Awards, which honor the worst of the year, are announced annually ahead of the Oscars ceremony, which takes place Sunday. Incidentally, Blonde star Ana de Armas is up for best actress in a leading role at the 2023 Academy Awards.
Razzie organizers also chastised themselves for nominating 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong as worst actress of the year. After being “put through the cyberworld blender,” as they put it, they subsequently removed her from the ballot and announced...

In the time since Olivia Colman won the 2019 Best Actress Oscar for appearing in 49 minutes and 48 seconds of “The Favourite,” the academy has consistently given the same award to women with much higher amounts of screen time. All of the category’s last three champions delivered performances that are over 80 minutes in length and rank among the 22 longest ever honored here. Since four of the five current Best Actress nominees hit the 93-minute mark, this trend is practically bound to continue.
Reigning Best Actress victor Jessica Chastain earned the prize for her one hour, 36 minutes, and 42 seconds of work as Tammy Faye Bakker in “The Eyes of Tammy Faye,” which amounts to 76.45% of the film. The controversial reimagining of Marilyn Monroe was written and directed by Andrew Dominik and quickly caused debates over the portrayal of the late film star, abortion, and sexual assault. “Blonde” debuted at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival where it received a 14-minute standing ovation. The Nc-17 rated Netflix film stateside, however, was met with less than open arms.
“When we premiered the movie in Venice, or San Sebastián, [the reaction was much warmer than the reception was in the U.S.]. Of course, the reaction that gets the most attention is the one in the U.S., but that wasn’t the whole experience,” de Armas told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s hard to hear these reactions, but you can always go back to what you experienced, and why you did it, and the reasons why you were attracted to the project.

Blonde was one of the most talked-about movies of last year, but almost exclusively through a negative lens. While overseas it fared quite well–even vying for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival–once American viewers got wind of the content, it would be a bumpy ride for the Netflix movie.
But star Ana de Armas, who played Marilyn Monroe (and exponentially better than anyone else has attempted), knew it wouldn’t be for everyone, telling The Hollywood Reporter, “As hard as it is to hear when people don’t like your film, it is what it is. It was not a movie that was made to please people or to make people like it. It is a hard movie to watch.” Director Andrew Dominik previously spoke about Blonde’s reception, saying he was surprised at just how angry and upset American viewers were over the movie.

Ana de Armas’ casting in Blonde was an intriguing risk from the get-go — she even says so herself: “It was against all odds that a Cuban actress was ever going to play Marilyn Monroe.” Add to that the nature of writer-director Andrew Dominik’s script — adapted from the Joyce Carol Oates novel, which does not shy away from speculation or the imagined darker, violent parts of Monroe’s life — and the movie was all but guaranteed to cause a stir.
When Blonde premiered at the Venice International Film Festival over the summer, the Nc-17-rated film garnered a 14-minute standing ovation, though reception to the movie since has been decidedly more polarized. Some critics and audiences have taken issue with the film’s creative liberties with Monroe’s story, including scenes of sexual assault and graphic violence. But de Armas has been hailed as a tour de force, as evidenced...

The multiverse film Everything Everywhere All At Once won best cast, best actress, best-supporting actor and best supporting actress at the 29th Annual SAG Awards on Sunday.
The film’s record-breaking four actors included victories for Michelle Yeoh, Jamie Lee Curtis and Ke Huy Quan, who became the first Asian actor to win in the Supporting Actor category.
James Hong, who plays lead actress Yeoh’s father in the movie, gave a speech for their best motion picture cast win.
The 94-year-old actor said that his first film was made 70 years ago. “Back in those days, [Asian roles] were played by [white] guys with their eyes taped because producers said that Asians were not good enough and they were not ‘box office,'” Hong stated. “But look at us now!”
Brendan Fraser earned the Best Actor trophy for his leading role in The Whale.

Everything Everywhere All At Once swept away the competition at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards, collecting almost every top accolade of the night.
The film’s stars Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis all received recognition for their individual performances at Sunday (26 February) night’s show.
The comedy-drama epic also took home the award for Best Cast in a Motion Picture – the SAG equivalent of Best Picture.
Yeoh won the SAG award for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role, acknowledging that she had been “up against titans” in the category.
“Every one of you know, the journey, the rollercoaster ride, the ups and downs. But most important, we never give up,” she said.
“This is not just for me, this is for every little girl that looks like me. Thank you for giving me a seat at the table because so many of us need this.

Performers celebrated their own on Sunday evening as awards season rolled around to the Screen Actors Guild. And it was a very good night for Everything Everywhere All At Once, which made SAG history by scooping all four awards for which it was nominated, including ensemble.
Everything Everywhere took home the ensemble award, plus trophies for stars Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis, which certainly doesn't hurt their Oscar chances (though Quan is clearly the favourite in the Supporting Actor race at this point).
It was a strong night for A24 as a studio, taking home the majority of the film awards, including another win for Brendan Fraser in The Whale. The Banshees Of Inisherin, meanwhile, was shut out despite earning a similar number of nods to Everything Everywhere.
On the TV side, it was bad news for Better Call Saul as Ozark's Jason Bateman and The White Lotus won again.

On Sunday, Hollywood’s biggest names gathered at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California, as the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, honoring the best film and TV performances of the past year, were handed out live.
For the first time since 1998, the ceremony was not broadcast on TV. Instead, it aired on Netflix’s YouTube channel after it was announced that the platform will begin streaming the ceremony live in 2024, as part of a multi-year partnership with SAG-AFTRA.
Going into the awards, “The Banshees of Inisherin” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once” both led with five nominations each, including four individual acting nods and one for ensemble. The two films tied a record previously set by “Shakespeare in Love” (1998), “Chicago” (2002), and “Doubt” (2008).
“Ozark”, meanwhile, had the most TV nominations, with four, including one for best drama ensemble, while “Barry” and “Only Murders in the Building” led the comedy categories with three each.
