- Mexican character actor who achieved his greatest success in U.S. films. He was born in Mexico city, living in numerous places throughout the country. He received a private education in Houston, Texas as a teenager, but dropped out and roamed about doing an assortment of jobs. His family, however, brought him back to Mexico City, where he subsequently found work in the struggling Mexican film industry. He appeared in many Mexican films before director John Huston offered him the role of Gold Hat in The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948). Bedoya stole the scenes in which he appeared as the smiling cutthroat and delivered the famous line about not needing any "stinking badges". He made a number of popular films in the U.S. in the next nine years, but a drinking problem destroyed his health. He died of a heart attack at the age of 53.

Marco Antonio Campos will forever be best remembered as the thin, serious half of the comedy duo Viruta and Capulina (with Gaspar Henaine as the chubby, silly half), but he was also an excellent musician, a gifted singer, and a capable screenwriter. Viruta (Campos) and Capulina (Henaine) achieved success and enduring popularity in the mid-1950s with their movies, TV shows, radio programs, and stage appearances. A decade later, they parted ways and Campos began a short-lived solo career as a supporting actor before retiring from show business.
Campos was born in Mexico City during the Mexican Revolution. He inherited his musical talent from his mother, Sara Contreras, who played piano and guitar and also had a beautiful voice. After his parents divorced, he and his mother moved to his maternal grandparents' home, where he discovered his lifelong love for books. When he was 18 years old, he decided to begin a career as an entertainer, took his guitar with him, and left home to work as a bar singer.
In 1938, Campos made his professional debut as a member of the musical quartet El Poker de la Armonía. From 1940 to 1942, he sang and played tropical music with the Trío Latino. He also performed on stage and in radio programs with the Trío Romanceros. He found his stage name when he expressed his desire to become a great dancer like Adalberto Martínez but his friends said he looked more like a woodchip ("viruta") than a coil spring ("resortes", Martínez's nickname).
In the early 1950s, Campos started a singing duo with a performer named Chamula. Viruta and Chamula recorded several humorous songs written by Chava Flores, but the comedy team did not last long because Chamula was a heavy drinker. It was shortly after that professional upset when Gaspar Henaine "Capulina" invited Campos to create a new duo for stage and radio. Before the decade was over, Viruta and Capulina were starring in their hit TV show Cómicos y canciones (1956) and had already released their first box-office success, Se los chupó la bruja (1958).
The next decade brought Viruta and Capulina even more fame. They began touring Latin America and continued making highly profitable movies for several production companies. Their screenplays were usually written by Jaime Salvador or Roberto Gómez Bolaños. Campos wrote the story of Cascabelito (1962), which Henaine thought was one of the duo's best movies. They also ventured into science fiction with Los astronautas (1964) and La edad de piedra (1964). However, their joint career was waning and Dos pintores pintorescos (1967) was their last movie.
Henaine chose to embark on a new career without Campos and began producing his own movies. Now alone, Campos reinvented himself as a television host and a reliable supporting actor. He enjoyed playing the character roles of his post-Viruta and Capulina career but eventually retired before the end of the decade to spend more time with his beloved wife and mother. His favorite pastimes included writing, music, painting, and sculpturing. At the time of his death, he was planning the publication of his two-volume autobiography, "Memorias de un trovador".- Actor

Segio lived his first ten years in the middle of downtown Mexico City. He played football on the sidewalk and the closest park was the "Alameda". He studied in an active school since he was just kid until he reached high school. It all kept him in a bubble that kept him believing in a fantasy of "a happy world". Majored in Anthropology and philosophy, he soon got bored and got to study what he really loved: Cinematography. He left to Italy to the "Centro di Cinema Sperimentale di Roma" but once more, the "economical crisis" just let him enjoy this for a while and had to return. When arriving back to Mexico he enrolled in the ninth generation of "CCC, Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica" (Center for Cinematography Capacitation), where he graduated in 1991 with "Cum Laude". The synods were: Arturo Ripstein, Jorge Fons, Ludwig Margules, Julian Pastor, Jose Luis Garcia Agraz, Luis Estrada y Henner Hoffman with his thesis "The last moo" which obtained an Ariel to the best short, nominations for "Diosa de Plata" and presentations in various international festivals like "New York Latino Film Festival" and the San Francisco Exploratorium in California. Also back in school at CCC, he had made a documentary, "Tatay", nominated to various national and international awards. His debut film was with "Luces de la Noche" (Lights of the night) 1994, it was filmed with the support of IMCINE, FONCA and Bandidos Films, was awarded more than 10 nominations to the Ariel Award and several more for the "Diosa de Plata". He also directed and important documentary: "Paquimé, la ciudad del desierto". Produced by INAH and IMCINE, it was well recognized in 1995 when receiving a grant from FONCA and the "National Endowment for the Arts" to live in San Francisco, Ca. From there he was dedicated to a multimedia job next to the acclaimed American photographer David M. Spear. In 2003 he made the documentary Ludwik Margules, el provocador produced by TV UNAM and CONACULTA for the series "A escena". This documentary was nominated for "the best documentary" in "Pantalla de Cristal". In 2008 he made the documentary Olympic in Mexico (Olimpiada en México), short documentary. Director, writer and editor. Since 2009 Sergio Muñoz works as a director and producer in his own production company, Gravedad cero films, "Zero Gravity Films", in addition to his work as a freelance. In 2010 he made the documentary Manuel Felguérez, short documentary. Director and editor, a chapter of the documentary TV series National award, (Premio Nacional) FONCA. Produced by Arturo Ripstein. In 2011 he made the documentary Dr. Sergio Revah, short documentary. Director and editor. A chapter of the documentary TV series National award, (Premio Nacional) FONCA. Produced by Arturo Ripstein. In 2012 he made the TV Serie Forgotten Masters, surviving crafts, (Maestros Olvidados, oficios que sobreviven), 15 Documentaries in HD. Director and Executive Producer. Produced by Zero Gravity Flims (Gravedad cero films) and SPR, Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State. In 2013-14 he made the TV Serie Forgotten Masters, trades surviving, (Maestros Olvidados, oficios que sobreviven) Second Season, 14 Documentaries in HD. Director and Executive Producer Produced by Zero Gravity Flims (Gravedad cero films) and SPR, Public Broadcasting System of the Mexican State Throughout this trajectory he has directed for advertising and other audiovisual streams. His work in advertising has been recognized nationally and internationally. He has won two gold awards in the prestigious contest PROMAX/BDA World Gold Awards, in the Eagle Awards, and Pantalla de Cristal, just to mention a couple. Some of the campaigns he has developed are international and have been transmitted in Italy, Spain, USA, Finland, Sweden, UK, Russia, China, Japan and countries of Africa, Latin America and Asia. He was assistant director to some of the best Mexican directors and some foreign ones who he still maintains a relation of friends and mentors. Some of them include Arturo Ripstein, Jorge Fons, Julian Pastor, Benito Rabal and Paolo Mercandini. With all this experience he can evolve with efficiency, creativity and solvency in any genre and medium related to the industry. He's a music lover and this can be appreciated throughout his work with constant fusion to music. Paintings are a constant reference in his visual projection and development. Architecture is the art hidden behind cinematography realization, for that he is always paying attention to the directly proportional relation between space and the scene set. He is attracted to advertising because of the exigency of narrative efficiency and the possibility of visual experimentation. Due to that today, almost fifty years after he was born, he still listens to the promise of that we are almost out of this crisis", he has developed a thick skin for working in this field, and like a Zen Buddhist virtue of infinite patience. Now like he has always done, he rather not sit and wait to find out if this time it's true what they say. He rather by any means to keep on filming his projects.- José Emilio Pacheco was born on 30 June 1939 in Mexico, D.F., Mexico. Althought most of her career was before the cameras, Mimí Derba is better remembered as the first woman director in Mexico (and perhaps in Latin America). On 1917, when Mexican screens were filled by italian melodramas of "divas", Derba organized one of the very first Mexican production companies: Azteca Films. Practically without previous experience on screen, the actress produced, wrote and performed in two box-office hits: Alma de sacrificio (1917) and En defensa propia (1917). The success of those films persuated her to take the director's chair in Tigresa, La (1917). There's a legend that Azteca Films was a cover-up for General Pablo González, a minister in the cabinet of President Venustiano Carranza and Derba's lover in those years. González was accused of being the mastermind behind a famous gang of robbers called La Banda del Automóvil Gris (The Grey Car Gang) whose assaults were very famous in the Mexico City of 1915. Those events inspired the famous Mexican episodic film Automóvil Gris, El (1919). The mysterious of the source of the incoming money for producing Derba's films was never discovered, but it is certain that, after the scandal of involving González with the gang, activities ceased on Azteca Films and the career of the first woman Mexican director was over. Derba continued acting and made a strong career as a supporting actress in a great number of famous Mexican films. One of her most notorious roles was the bitter grandmother of Evita Muñoz 'Chachita' in Ustedes los ricos (1947).- Armando Sáenz was born on 18 November 1923 in Mexico D.F., Mexico.
