- The Doctor and his previous incarnations are brought to the Death Zone on his homeworld Gallifrey as part of a renegade Time Lord's scheme.
- The Tardis lands in a spaceship graveyard on the bleak planet Karn, where The Doctor and Sarah find a evil scientist called Doctor Solon is constructing a new body for the brain of an evil Time Lord known as Morbius, who The Doctor thought was executed by the High Council on Gallifrey. - The TARDIS arrives in England, 1925, near to where a mysterious, gurgling man has escaped his bonds and started strangling servants. The Doctor is "expected" and taken (along with Tegan, Nyssa, and Adric) to the Cranleighs' country estate where The Doctor participates in a cricket match and Nyssa turns out to be the near spitting image of Ann, fiancée of Charles Cranleigh. They all stay for an afternoon costume ball. Tegan teaches others how to do the Charleston while Adric eats, but The Doctor finds himself searching through secret passageways in his bathrobe after the gurgling man steals his clothing and party costume to attend the ball and deal with one of the guests.
- The Doctor attempts to test his new dematerialisation circuit by taking Jo to Metebelis Three but instead the TARDIS arrives in the hold of a 1920s cargo ship.

The Doctor and Sarah finds a group of humans and Daleks are searching for parrinium, a mineral which is the only antidote to a space plague. Both parties encounter the native people and trouble ensues. In an attempt to find what caused the power loss, the Doctor, chased by the Daleks, enters the Exxilon's lost city to stop the power-draining phenomenon.
- The Bannermen have successfully wiped out all but the last of the Chimeron - Delta, the queen, no less. She escapes with an egg and boards an intergalactic bus of Navarino vacationers heading for 1959 Earth to visit Disneyland. On that bus is Mel, followed closely by the Doctor in his TARDIS.

Where the Doctor finds he has been wrongly accused of stealing the Dodechedron, the city's power source. Only to discover the culprit is Meglos, the cactus-like last survivor of the desert planet Zolfa-Thura and he bids to return the Dodechedron to Zolfa-Thura for his own evil purpose and plans to use it as a powerful weapon and he plans to wipe out Tigella.
- The court looks into the Doctor's investigation of Thoros Beta, home planet of the Mentors whom the Doctor suspects of selling advanced weaponry to primitive cultures.
- Whilst The Doctor, Steven and Vicki are traveling to their next destination, on the planet Kembel, Marc Cory, a Space Security Service agent discovers The Daleks are attending a secret meeting with their allies. Where Cory discovers the Dalek's evil plan, which sets the stage for the epic 12-part adventure "The Dalek Master Plan".
- The Starliner Empress comes out of warp and collides with a scientific survey ship, the Hecate. The Doctor and Romana arrive offering to help separate the two ships but all is not as it seems.
- The Doctor and Mel visit Paradise Towers, a apartment complex in the 21st century, only to find it rat-infested and ruined. Paradise Towers is inhabited by Rezzies (elderly women, at least some of whom are cannibals), Kangs (roving gangs of teenage girls), Pex (a cowardly young warrior who proclaims himself the local hero) and Caretakers led by a Chief whose job is to keep the apartment complex in order. But the Doctor and Mel find that robotic cleaners are killing off everyone in Paradise Towers, one-by-one. The culprit is Kroagnon, the building's award-winning architect, who plots to rid Paradise Towers of all those who live within it.
- The Doctor and Sarah answer a distress call and find themselves on Zeta Minor, the last planet of the known universe, where a Morestran expedition has gone missing.
- The Doctor and Turlough arrive on Lanzarote to investigate a signal. Turlough rescues American Student Peri Brown from nearly drowning and discovers she has in her possession a data core from Turlough's home planet Trion. The Doctor, Turlough and Peri follow the signal to the volcanic planet Sarn, where the natives worship a fire god known as Logar, and where the Doctor learns The Master has accidentally shrunk himself after testing a more lethal version of his tissue compression eliminator and has taken control of Kamelion, using him to find numismaton gas that will restore him to his normal size.
- When the TARDIS malfunctions and the doors open in the time vortex, the travelers and their Ship shrink to the size of insects. When they arrive on Earth, they uncover a murderous plot involving a new insecticide - but how can they stop the crime in their miniaturized condition? (Originally broadcast in three parts.)
- The TARDIS lands on the jungle planet Spiridon, where the Doctor has fallen into a coma. Before collapsing he has requested the Time Lords to pilot the TARDIS, so he and Jo can follow the Daleks to their base. Jo learns the Daleks' base has been located on Spiridon where they are attempting to discover the secrets of Invisibilty and create a bacterial virus in their goal of universal conquest. When the Doctor recovers, he and Jo are joined by a task-force of Thals and a native Spiridon named Wester. They not only set out to stop he Daleks' evil plot, they also discover an army of 12,000 Daleks are in suspended animation and are waiting to be revived to begin their universal conquest and claim themselves as the supreme rulers of the galaxy.
- While the Doctor carries out an investigation into ESP, Mike Yates asks Sarah to look into some strange goings on at a meditation centre he's attending.

The Doctor and Romana find two men arguing. The Doctor asks to speak to a scientist. One of the men mistakes them for lords. After the Doctor, Romana and one of the men leave, The other man, using a radio, calls to others and tells them of the two strangers who just arrived. Travelling through the forest, Romana and the Doctor are surrounded by men. They surrender and are taken to a hidden cave, where they meet the rebels. One man is trying to get a computer up and running. The Doctor helps him and Romana identifies the computer system as coming from Earth, Adric tries to steal some food in the village. Adric is caught and those who caught him take on pity him and offer him a place to sleep because of the evil things that happen at night. The Doctor and Romana appear to be attacked by a swarm of bats at the end.
- A spate of mysterious disappearances in Perivale have been recently taking place, meaning that The Doctor's decision to take Ace to her home village couldn't come at a better time.

Ian is less than comfortable with his role when he learns that they are to deliver the human sacrifice to the high priest at the rain ceremony. The Doctor emphasizes that they must not interfere with Aztec rituals, something that does not sit well with Barbara.
- The Doctor and Peri get involved with drug running after landing on the twin planet of Androzani Minor and getting arrested as gun runners and targeted for execution. Not before Peri stumbles into some highly toxic and lethal plant life.

The Doctor, Steven and Dodo find themselves joining forces with The Clanton Brothers and Sheriff Wyatt Earp.
- The Doctor and Sarah arrive in a quarry during blasting operations and when Sarah is buried under rubble, she discovers a stone hand.
- The Doctor and Ace arrive on the earth colony of Terra Alpha, a colony that is under the misguided dictatorship of Helen A. On Terra Alpha, sadness and misery are capital crimes, and "killjoys' (anyone who does not adhere to these strict laws) are executed on the spot by Helen A's secret police, a motley crew of female assassins known only as "The Happiness Patrol". The Doctor and Ace make it their mission to put a stop to Helen A's harsh regime, but that's all easier said than done. What with The Happiness Patrol, undercover snoop Silas P, and Helen A's carnivorous little pet Fifi to contend with, they can do with all the help they can get, joining forces with Earl Sigma, rogue Happiness Patrol member Susan Q and the native inhabitants of Terra Alpha who were driven into the pipes and sewers of the colony. There is one threat that the Doctor hasn't banked on - Helen A's prized chief executioner, a crazed android and creator of killer confectionery. This robotic menace is known only as The Kandy Man, and he's not one to be trifled with.
- The Doctor, Polly and Ben arrive in 1746, in the aftermath of the Battle of Culloden, and are captured by a group of Highlanders shortly before they themselves are captured by redcoats.
- After colliding with a spaceship, The Doctor, Romana and K-9 learn young natives from a peaceful planet called Aneth are being transported into a great labyrinth called "The Power Complex" where the evil bull-like Nimon demands that all his victims who enter The Power Complex are sacrificed so The Nimon can return to the Skonnan Empire back to glory. When Romana is taken captive and also chosen for sacrifice, The Doctor and K-9 travel to the heart of the maze as they set out to rescue Romana and foil The Nimon's evil plan to enslave the universe.

However, the miners led by the mad rebel Ettis are rebelling and refusing to work, as the ghost of the loyal beast Aggedor is frightening and killing off the miners. It is soon discovered that the ghost of Aggedor is a holographic projection and the culprits are a task-force of renegade Ice Warriors led by Commander Azaxyr and traitorous federation mining engineer Eckersley who have betrayed the Federation to Galaxy Five.
- The TARDIS arrives on the Moon in the year 2070. When Jamie is injured, the other travellers are forced to seek the help of a moonbase afflicted with a space plague.
- The Doctor and Jo arrive on the planet Solos, on an assignment by the Time Lords. The Doctor and Jo learn that the native Solonians are mutating into ant-like mutant creatures and they uncover a conspiracy, where the evil Marshal of the Earth Empire plots to rule Solos for himself and plans to convert the Solos atmosphere, since the planet's atmosphere is poisonous, so the planet can be colonized by the humans He plans to wipe out all the mutated Solonians, who are evolving into an advanced super race.
- The Doctor is put on trial by the Time Lords again. The first of two events from his resent past is presented as evidence of his interference in the affairs of other worlds. In particular, his actions on planet Ravalox.
- The TARDIS lands in the middle of the Trojan War, where the Doctor is mistaken for the god Zeus.

- Members of the World Ecology Bureau discover a centuries-old seed pod buried deep in Antarctica's permafrost. It seems to be still alive, growing without soil. They transmit a photo to London where Richard Dunbar of the W.E.B. shares it with the Doctor. Wary of what it might be, the Doctor immediately flies down with Sarah. They don't know that Dunbar is a leak in the bureau and has tipped off the discovery to a rich plant fanatic named Harrison Chase. Chase sends a thug and a plant expert down to verify the discovery and fetch it back by any means possible. But before anyone arrives, the pod hatches and the tendril-like life form within attaches itself to one of the men, turning him green. It's as The Doctor feared: they're dealing with a Krynoid.
- The TARDIS arrives aboard a spaceship that has been captured by the Sensorites, a hearing-sensitive alien race. The Sensorites are dying, and the Doctor finds himself forced to investigate the origin of the mysterious illness. (Originally broadcast in six parts.)

- Space beacons are being destroyed by pirates, who are salvaging the argonite metal. When the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe arrive on one of the beacons, they are mistaken for pirates.
- The Doctor and Romana's search for the third piece of the Key to Time leads them to a stone circle in Cornwall where they find signs of strange activity and meet the inquisitive Professor Rumford who tells them of a nearby sect of druids.

- The Doctor struggles to adjust to his new self. Elsewhere a set of genius twins are kidnapped, whose mathematical computations can manipulate features of the universe. They're immediately put to work by aliens for an as yet unknown end.
- The Time Lords have dispatched the Doctor (in his 2nd incarnation) along with Jamie to a space research station to see Dastari, the Director of Projects, about dissuading two of his scientists from further experimentations on time travel that are rattling the fabric of time. The Doctor is further alarmed over Dastari's latest genetic experiments, boosting the intelligence of a bestial and carnivorous humanoid race called the Androgum. This secondary concern soon proves the greater problem: the Androgum have sided with the Sontarans to take over the station. The station soon falls and the Doctor is captured and tortured. As his life becomes threatened, elsewhere the Doctor (in his 6th incarnation) passes out while on holiday with Peri - his very existence jeopardized.

- Following the death of Adric, the Doctor arranges a trip to Victorian London to lift everyone's spirits but the Tardis instead materializes at Heathrow Airport where a British Airways Concord has mysteriously vanished.
- A time corridor, called Timelash, has been set up to punish dissidents on the planet Karfel, dumping them alive but permanently into Earth's early history. The TARDIS runs right into it, and the Doctor thereafter finds a society with advanced technology it shouldn't have along with an unnerving absence of reflective surfaces of any kind.
- Materializing at the edge of the cosmos, the frontier of creation, The Doctor, Leela & K-9 encounter four ancient space travelers from Minyos, the first race ever contacted by the Time Lords. All but extinct due to their Time Lords encounter, the Minyans (rejuvenated 1000 times each) have been embarked on a long 100,000 year old quest, searching the universe for the lost race bank of their species to take to a new home world. But their equally old ship is finally failing, succumbing to the gravitational pull of a newly forming sun and taking the Doctor and his party with it.
- The TARDIS makes an emergency landing on Varos, a planet that used to be a penal colony, and where the native Varosians are presently entertained by broadcasts of real violence and death. Mistaken for rebels, the Doctor and Peri learn that Sil, an evil delegate of the Galatron mining corporation, bids to rule Varos and to control supplies of Zeiton 7 ore, which is the TARDIS's only fuel source.
- The Doctor, Tegan and Turlough land inside an undersea secret military base in wartime Earth, 2084. The base is about to be attacked on two fronts. Enemy agents within work to neutralize the base while an assault team of aquatic Silurians prepare without for a surprise attack.
- While the Doctor and Romana desperately rack their brains over how to escape E-Space, Time Winds strike the TARDIS, damaging it and K-9. Strangest of all, it allows Biroc, a hurt and hunted lion-man, to enter, phased in time, and set the control coordinates at zero-zero, sending the TARDIS into a milk-white void. Before running off, he warns of others who will be soon following.
