Regan and Carter must find the man who really hospitalized Andy Deacon before it is too late, though Regan's new lady-friend, a probation officer, is able to help.
- An armed gang kidnap telephone engineer Ronald Peters and hold him in an empty house, using his expertise to trigger off false alarms in some banks, diverting the police whilst the gang rob alarm-free premises. Regan is initially resentful when college graduate Sergeant David Keel, a telecommunications expert from Bristol CID, is drafted in to help, but comes to respect his knowledge and his bravery in catching the gang.

Regan's efforts to find Noah and prove conspiracy without telling Haskins put him in danger of suspension and Noah's mother in danger from the dairy robbers. Perhaps mini-cab boss Manny Bellow can come up with helpful information.
- Two teams explore flight options and successfully risk an earlier flight, while two others choose to play it safe with a flight that ends up coming in later. In England, the teams ride a Ferris wheel called the London Eye and then participate in a Detour that requires them to make a classic choice --- Brains or Brawn. Uchenna and Joyce and Meredith and Gretchen both opt for Brawn, which requires them to stack boats, while the other two teams go for Brains and solve a series of clues leading them to the home of the legendary Sherlock Holmes. Seeing Meredith and Gretchen struggle, Uchenna attempts to help out before realizing that he's not allowed. Later, the teams do a Roadblock at the Millennium Dome in which they must drive a double-decker bus through a marked obstacle course. One team surges ahead, while a Yield puts the remaining three teams in a close competition to avoid elimination.

- Following the 1997 General Election Ben Ransley, a young researcher for successful MP Liz Jackson, was murdered and the case is reopened on the discovery of £40,000 in an off-shore account in his name. Ben's best friend, arrogant lobbyist Eddie Trenton, gives Sandra a photo of Ben with his girlfriend, who turns out to be Hana, the Bosnian wife of tycoon Peter Russell, and she also disappeared in 1997. French policeman and former war crimes prosecutor Max Clement comes to London and tracks down Hana, whose whole family was killed in the Bosnian war. Hana believes Ben, with whom she was set to elope, was killed by the man who got her to England and introduced her to Peter but Dan discovers that Ben was in a position to leak information about a government arms deal, which would have been injurious to certain people. This solves the case.
- The next agent on the Soviet list, Tom Mallory, is a brutal man currently in prison for assault. Without his freedom, he can't perform his task and bring MI5 one step closer to thwarting Operation Glass - leaving Daddy with a terrible choice. Joe, haunted by events in his past, continues to struggle with his lover's killer's role in the plot.
