- A ballet version of the fairytale by Hans Christian Andersen from the Ottawa Ballet company with narration from Sally Struthers.
- Documents the May 30, 1981, gala dance performance at the National Arts Centre, Ottawa. Includes performances by the Anna Wyman Dance Theatre, the Danny Grossman Dance Company, les Grands Ballets Canadiens, le Groupe de la Place Royale, the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Toronto Dance Theatre, and Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers, plus some backstage and rehearsal footage.
- Shari Lewis combines all of her many talents in this holiday special. She conducts a symphony orchestra, sings, dances and plays the fiddle in front of a live audience of adults and children. Shari is also joined by her puppets Lamb Chop, Captain Person and Grizzly.
- The newly built National Arts Centre in Ottawa not only provides a venue for Canadian talent to showcase their work on a national stage, but allows international talent to showcase their work to a Canadian audience. A quick tour of both the interior and exterior of the complex is provided. Excerpts of Monique Leyrac in concert, and Frances Hyland and Chief Dan George in a production of "The Ecstasy of Rita Joe", both on stage at the Centre, are shown.
