Danish composer Jacob Gade's internationally famous piece "Tango Jalousi" was composed for the Danish gala premiere of this film, which took place 14 September 1925 in Palads Teatret, Copenhagen.
At the time that the film was made, Lottie Pickford (Lola) was the sister-in-law of Douglas Fairbanks (Don Cesar de Vega / Zorro) as he was married to her elder sister Mary Pickford from 1920 to 1936.
Ironically, the original DON Q novel did not feature Zorro; Fairbanks reworked the story into a vehicle for that character because he only possessed the rights to "The Curse of Captistrano," which was the story in which Zorro first appeared.
