Sex & Nudity
-
- Groucho makes references to stealing other men's wives.
- Two scenes, each about 3-4 minutes each with women dressed quite immodestly: woman #1 is wearing a very open v-neck outfit that reveals a lot of cleavage and she is obviously not wearing a bra based on the way the her breasts and nipples are showing through the clothing. Later on, woman # 2 has a strange looking outfit that opens up down the middle of her chest and flares some outward, revealing her skin, with one button between the breasts.
- Groucho Marx is continually chasing women in a semi-sexual way throughout the movie and making jokes filled with sexual innuendo .
Violence & Gore
-
- There is a brief scene where handguns are brandished in a non-threatening manner when the Marx brothers are acting as bodyguards for the racketeer.
- There are a few scenes of mild cartoonish violence as the ship's crew attempt to catch the brothers.
- Some fighting at the end of the film. Mild.
- There is quite a bit of hitting of people throughout the movie in various ways and is not exactly a good example for children to watch, especially children already inclined towards this kind of mischief.
Profanity
-
- None.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking
-
- There is a scene where Zeppo and Harpo bother two older gentlemen playing chess with cigarettes in their hands.
- Groucho Marx walks around with an unlit cigar most of the time, but lights up at least once to smoke, maybe more times.
Frightening & Intense Scenes
