This is the first of three films in which character actor Granville Bates appeared on screen alongside Lucille Ball. Each film in which they appeared together was released in 1938 and starred Ball as the female lead. The other films to include the two actors were The Affairs of Annabel (1938) and Next Time I Marry (1938).
Part of this film's plot involves Lucille Ball inside of a runaway mobile trailer. Several months after filming this picture, Ball also spent much of her screen time inside of a mobile trailer in the film Next Time I Marry (1938). Later, in one of her better-known film roles, she starred in yet another mobile trailer-themed film in The Long, Long Trailer (1954).
Wilbur pulls he new trailer into a Mobil gas station - note the iconic Pegasus logo trademark on the pumps, but the name has been changed to "Milo-gas" and the racks of "Mobiloil" have been partially and crudely painted or taped over.
First starring role for Lucille Ball in the third year of her contract at RKO. In less than twenty years, she, along with husband Desi Arnaz would own the studio.
