Doom Patrol‘s final Big Bad is neither physically big nor technically bad, and that’s kind of the point.
The Max drama resumed its fourth season on Thursday with a wild premiere that finally put a face to a name, that name being (drumroll please…) Immortus! And that was only half of the surprise, as the face belonged to (let’s get another drumroll…) Isabel Feathers!

Danielle Darrieux turns 97: Darrieux has probably enjoyed the longest film star career in history (photo: Danielle Darrieux in ‘La Ronde’) Screen legend Danielle Darrieux is turning 97 today, May 1, 2014. In all likelihood, the Bordeaux-born (1917) Darrieux has enjoyed the longest "movie star" career ever: eight decades, from Wilhelm Thiele’s Le Bal (1931) to Denys Granier-Deferre’s The Wedding Cake / Pièce montée (2010). (Mickey Rooney has had a longer film career — nearly nine decades — but mostly as a supporting player in minor roles.) Absurdly, despite a prestigious career consisting of more than 100 movie roles, Danielle Darrieux — delightful in Club de femmes, superb in The Earrings of Madame De…, alternately hilarious and heartbreaking in 8 Women — has never won an Honorary Oscar. But then again, very few women have. At least, the French Academy did award her an Honorary César back in 1985; additionally, in 2002 Darrieux and her fellow 8 Women / 8 femmes co-stars shared Best Actress honors...

The Harry Potter World Cup has been no stranger to surprises. We've witnessed astonishing upsets. We've suffered stunning defeats. We've even seen photo finishes! But now, as we move out of the Sweet 16 and into the Elite Eight, the tournament moves into a new and even more difficult state than we've seen so far. Ladies and gentlemen, magicians and muggles, get ready — some very difficult decisions lie ahead.
All polls for the Elite Eight will open later today, and you'll be one step closer to determining who the greatest "Harry Potter" of all time is. First, let's look at the results of the last round.
The Phoenix Falls, The Serpent Rots
Though defeat was almost certainly in their futures at some point, it's nonetheless surprising to see that both Albus Dumbledore and Lord Voldemort fell during the Sweet 16. For his part, Dumbledore's downfall came at the hands of former colleague Professor Remus Lupin.

French actor, novelist and director who starred in films by Truffaut and Buñuel
Those who followed the adventures of Antoine Doinel (played by Jean-Pierre Léaud) in a series of lyrical and semi-autobiographical films directed by François Truffaut – incorporating adolescence, marriage, fatherhood and divorce – will know that Doinel's first and (perhaps) last love, Colette Tazzi, was played by the stunningly beautiful Marie-France Pisier, who has been found dead aged 66 in the swimming pool of her house near Toulon, in southern France.
Doinel and audiences first caught sight of Pisier in Antoine et Colette, Truffaut's enchanting 32-minute contribution to the omnibus film L'Amour à Vingt Ans (Love at Twenty, 1962), during a concert at the Salle Pleyel in Paris of Hector Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique. She is conscious of Antoine's stares, and pulls down her skirt. We soon realise that Colette is going to break Antoine's heart.

Among the movies available during the long hours of my flight from London to Sydney was Rob Marshall's Nine, a reworking of Fellini's 8½. As I flicked back and forth through the menu, I caught glimpses of Penélope Cruz in a flounced red baby-doll nightie with a built-in push-up bra – could we have worn such things in the 1960s? – and Sophia Loren looking like an Aztec mask, and Daniel Day-Lewis getting in and out of bed with his trousers on, but I was not tempted. I will not have my Fellini rewritten by Arthur Kopit, who wrote the musical, or Anthony Minghella or Michael Tolkin, who wrote the screenplay.
In the summer of 1975, Paola Roli, one of the casting directors for Fellini's Casanova, suggested that he try me for the part of the giantess. I was a fan from way back, so, though I didn't want the part, and...
