Sidney James had horse riding experience in Australia. He loved the horse that he rode for this film. In unseen footage from a news crew that hung around the cast during filming, James is seen talking excitedly about his horse, calling it his "girlfriend" and kissing it in claiming that he wouldn't let her kiss him.
