- According to Stephen Farber's book "The Movie Ratings Game", when American International Pictures initially submitted this film to the MPAA for a rating, the ratings board was split as to whether to rate it R or X. AIP insisted on a GP (later renamed PG) rating. The film ended up going before the ratings board six times before it was finally accepted for release.
