Phylis Davis said she liked the script, so one day she brought the president of distributor Avco-Embassy, who was a friend of a friend, to the set to see if he would distribute the film. But one of the producers, who Davis said was really young, said, "I don't know, he looks like a greasy meatball to me." That rude comment ruined any chances of Avco-Embassy cutting a deal with them.
