Barbra Streisand has released her first song in six years, titled “Love Will Survive” — and it’s her first work for an onscreen project in 12 years, since she herself last appeared in a movie, 2012’s “The Guilt Trip.”
“Love Will Survive,” composed by Hans Zimmer and Kara Talve, will be Streisand’s end title anthem for the credits of Peacock and Sky limited series “The Tattooist of Auschwitz,” based on the WWII-set novel of the same name. Melanie Lynskey portrays real-life author Heather Morris, who interviewed Holocaust survivor Lali Sokolov (Harvey Keitel) about meeting his future wife Gina (Anna Próchniak) in a concentration camp. The novel is inspired by the real-life love story of Lali and Gita Sokolov, who met while prisoners in the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp during the Holocaust. He had been ordered to tattoo serial numbers on prisoners’ arms.
This is Streisand’s first recording for a TV series.

Ryan O’Neal is dead at the age of 82 after years of health struggles. His son Patrick announced the news on Instagram.
O’Neal was one of the true heartthrobs of the New Hollywood era, making many who saw him in “Love Story,” “What’s Up Doc?,” “Barry Lyndon,” and “The Driver” swoon. He also was much more than a pretty face, showing a capacity to let the great directors of the era mold him into something so much more powerful than his looks. And his life was defined in some ways, also, by heartbreak and misfortune: the loss of his great love Farrah Fawcett in 2009, the years-long legal troubles of his son Redmond, the rupture of his relationship with son Griffin, and fraught connection to his daughter Tatum. He was a prickly icon, someone whose public statements and demeanor defied people to like him. But the films he leaves behind...

Another former silver screen icon has passed, with THR reporting that Ryan O’Neal, star of Love Story and Barry Lyndon, has died at 82. While his star had dimmed since his heyday, at the height of his fame, Ryan O’Neal was considered one of the biggest stars in the world. His 1970 classic Love Story, co-starring Ali McGraw, made him one of the decade’s biggest heartthrobs, and he followed it up with a couple of stone-cold classics, including a few movies by Peter Bogdanovich. His first movie with the director, What’s Up Doc, paired him for the first time with Barbra Streisand, with the two reuniting years later for The Main Event – both of which were massive hits. Probably his best movie with Bogdanovich, Paper Moon, paired him with his daughter, Tatum O’Neal, who took home an Oscar for her role in this black-and-white depression-set classic.

Think you've grappled with every great digital wrestler? You haven't until you've played these underrated wrestling games.
Whether you don’t know the difference between a mark and a bump or you can name the participants in every WarGames match, you’re probably aware of the absolute best wrestling games of all-time. Titles like SmackDown: Here Comes the Pain, WWF No Mercy, and WCW/Nwo Revenge have transcended the popularity of professional wrestling itself and have become a part of many gamers' fondest memories.
Yet, there are some forgotten wrestling games that are still worth remembering. While it’s true that there is a well-defined top and bottom in the wrestling game hierarchy, there are also a few titles somewhere near the middle that have been unfairly lumped together even though some of them deserve a spot near the top of the card with the undisputed legends of the wrestling game scene.

Former USC and National Football League star Tim Rossovich, who built a post-athletic acting career in various roles, has died after a long illness, according to USC News. He was 72 and passed Thursday in Sacramento.
Rossovich was an All-American and co-captain of the USC national championship team in 1967, remembered for star O.J. Simpson at running back. He became one of five USC players drafted in the first round in 1968, going to the Philadelphia Eagles as the 14th pick of the first round.
The lean defensive end made the Pro Bowl in 1969 during a career that saw him play for the Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers, and Houston Oilers. He later played for the Philadelphia Bell in the short-lived World Football League.
After rooming with actor Tom Selleck in college and given his USC connections, it seemed inevitable that Rossovich would become an actor. He started as stunt double in the Burt Reynolds film Hooper,...

Well that went fast. We have reached the final issue of the first story arc somehow. If I have any criticism at all, and I have enjoyed this series far too much to do more than slightly nit-pick, it is that Chris King has packed in perhaps too much too soon. He clearly has a ton of great ideas that are just spilling out, and maybe a more slow and steady approach may have paid off more down the line. But that’s a talk between Chris and his editor methinks. I’ve enjoyed it all plenty, thank you very much, just don’t run out of ideas any time soon.
A recap of what’s gone before would just take too long, so here’s the quick version. Way back in Ancient Egypt Belial was in love with Amunet,...

Julianne Hough tied the knot to fiancé and NHL star Brooks Laich on Saturday.
“I don’t think I ever really necessarily dreamed about my wedding as a kid,” Hough told People magazine. “But I know I will always cherish and remember it for the rest of my life.”
The couple, 28 and 34 respectively, who held their ceremony at Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, welcomed 200 guests to the event. Their wedding weekend officially kicked off on Thursday with a dinner and continued Friday with a day along the lake and concluded Saturday with the wedding and reception.
The main event was held outside, which was important to the couple. “Julianne and I are very adventurous and free and wanted the setting to be in nature,” Laich said.

Parting is such sweet sorrow and none more so than to see the end of the 2017 London Indian Film Festival. After a rollercoaster week’s worth of films, we saw the closing of the London portion of the festival at the BFI Southbank with the English premiere of Sexy Durga.
The night began with a star-studded red carpet event. BollySpice was on hand to mix with the movers and shakers of the Festival. In particular, we caught up with executive and programming director Cary Rajinder Sawhney who had promised at the beginning of the run that this year would be the best ever. We asked him whether he stood by that comment. “In terms of the films? Yes, this has been the best ever. We had such a good selection of films, many from other festivals where they have won awards.”
There were many famous names from the Festival line-up who graced the red carpet.

As we creep along to the midway point of Summer, this can only mean one thing at the multiplex (aside from added matinees): another installment of a big studio franchise (formerly a series) will be occupying several screens. We’ve already had a new Alien, and another Depp pirate pic as the Planet Apes and Transformers wait in the wings, along with that wall-crawling wonder. I suppose we’re due for an animated sequel, but this one’s from the most celebrated studio of the last couple of decades, Pixar. Aside from Toy Story, they avoided follow-ups to their other hit films until 2011 when the Cars gang refueled for Cars 2. Then one of the other hits got a prequel, Monster University, and another spawned last year’s box office smash, Finding Dory. Now here’s the automotive, track-burnin’ “hat trick” as good ole’ number 95, Lightning McQueen roars back...

Oh Bachelor Nation, blessed are we. Tonight was week two of The Bachelorette, and it was most excellent.
You know it’s going to be a good episode when it opens with Rachel Lindsay hanging out with her adorable dog, Copper, who is the real Mvp this season. But the producers were truly smiling down upon us this week, because not only did Monday’s episode feature more Copper screen time than most contestants on night one, but it also featured our new favorite Bachelor super-fans, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, and, of course, the most glorious character assassination DeMario-got-caught-red-handed-with-his-pants-down moment of all time.

One of my great joys, as a fan of world cinema, is when I start watching a film that I have no expectations for, and am completely blown away. I immediately want to recommend it to anyone I know that might also enjoy it. It feels like I found a secret, even if it’s only new to me. This film fits completely into this category. I know very little about the history of Mexican cinema, and Latin American films are hardly well represented in the collection. To learn a little bit more was such a treat, and just whets my appetite for more of the great films from this era.
The film is based on a true story, and all the details of that story are revealed in the first minute of the film, so there are no spoilers here. In 1968, two weeks before the Tlatelolco massacre of student protesters in Mexico City,...

Another Valentine’s Day is over for another year and what better way to celebrate the holiday than by talking about professional wrestling. WWE SmackDown Live! is over for another week. Coming out of the Elimination Chamber Pay Per View, how did the Blue Brand of the WWE stack up this week?
I enjoyed the match between Becky Lynch and Mickie James. This was the match these two should have had on the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View. The match these two had just two days later had more impact because one, the action in the ring was solid from bell to bell and two, the right person ended up winning the match. In order for people to take Mickie James seriously for her return, she has to get some wins over credible opponents. Prior to the event, during the TakeOver kick-off show, we found out the results of the Nxt Awards, and so I figured I’d begin this article with the results of them.
Match of the Year: Diy vs. The Revival (2 out of 3 Falls/TakeOver Toronto)
Breakout Star of the Year: Peyton Royce & Billie Kay
Tag Team of the Year: The Revival
Woman of the Year: Asuka
Male of the Year: Shinsuke Nakamura
Nxt Superstar of the Year: Shinsuke Nakamura
Nxt Takeover events have been a high quality time and time again in the last few years, and with Nxt currently going through a “rebuilding” stage on its roster, with new talents coming in and well-known ones gone to the main roster, its an interesting time. Still, regardless of the stars that have departed Nxt in the last few months, there are still plenty of men and women to get excited about,...

Melania Trump will become the second First Lady since 1825 to have been born outside the U.S. ... and her hometown in Slovenia's ready to party it up in her honor. We're told the mayor in Melania's hometown of Sevnica -- a small town of about 5,000 people -- is so fired up the entire town's getting in on the festivities. After pulling together its exhaustive list of soundtracks eligible for 2017’s Best Original Score accolade – and excluding a few heavy-hitters in the process – the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has whittled down its contenders for the VFX Oscar to ten.
The Jungle Book and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are among those films to make the cut, while somewhat unsurprisingly, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Marvel’s mind-bending Doctor Strange also find themselves in contention.
After iterating on the technology introduced in James Cameron’s Avatar remarkably well, Jon Favreau’s Jungle Book seems like the one to beat this year, but don’t discount Rogue One‘s – or indeed Strange‘s – chances of puling an upset. Speaking of which, Warcraft and Tim Miller’s Deadpool are two notable exceptions from The Academy’s shortlist, while Peter Berg’s true-life thriller Deepwater Horizon...

I have just finished watching the most insanely beautiful two hours of television I think I will ever see. From Total Nonstop Action, Impact Wrestling presents Total Nonstop Deletion!
The wrestling industry is filled with stories of organizations who, when their backs were against the wall, thought of the craziest things they could imagine in the hopes of bringing back their audience. During 1996 to 1997, the WWE was trailing their competitor WCW in the ratings, almost getting to the point where the company went bankrupt. Yet after changing the tone of the show from a family friendly enterprise to cutting edge, adult material, they were able to quickly close the gap and eventually win what was called the Monday Night War.
Fast forward to 2016. The Tna organization has had some ups and downs that would have sunk countless companies before them. With money woes that have seen the company get sued many times over,...

On Jay Leno’s Garage tonight, Jay test drives with as he says: “Two generations of Corvettes with two generations of Jenners.” Leno also sets up a contest between “old and new” in a bid to see if the past 100 years has seen improvements in automobile technology and overall style. Jay then puts Nascar driver Joey Logano into a 60s race car to see if he can go the distance with some “old-school muscle”. The main event, however, is Leno hashing over sexy Corvettes with Caitlyn Jenner and Kendall Jenner. The famous reality TV stars fire up some hot wheels...read more...

Monday’s Supergirl found Kara & Co. infiltrating a seedy alien fight club, and at the risk of breaking the first rule of such a venue, I’m going to talk about it.
RelatedSupergirl Ep Reveals James’ Future as DC Comics’ Guardian, Explains Why He and Kara Are ‘Best as Friends’
Orchestrated by a leggy, inked-up baddie named Roulette, the club was designed to pit aliens — some volunteers, others prisoners — against one another for the amusement of National City’s worst and wealthiest. (The clientele reminded me of that Tom Cruise movie Eyes Wide Shut, but with less aliens.)

★★★☆☆ There are two concurrent and intertwining stories playing out in Rokhsareh Ghaem Maghami's irresistible, crowd-pleasing documentary Sonita. The main event is the tale of the eponymous teenager, an Afghan immigrant in Tehran with dreams of being the next Rihanna. She's cocky, charismatic, and does a great line in punchy, socially-motivated hip-hop. She's the perfect focus for a tale of adversity, triumph and female empowerment. However, there's also a secondary narrative that begins to develop around the director's own involvement in Sonita's story which raises infinitely more fascinating questions about ethical boundaries.
