Darkest Hour have announced their 10th studio album, Perpetual | Terminal, arriving February 23rd via Mnrk Heavy. The video for the title track can be streamed now.
The song serves as the album opener and melds melodic guitar leads with crushing technical metalcore. According to the band, it’s the sound of “a whole Darkest Hour album in one song.”
“It felt like the perfect album opener,” the group stated via a press release, “eventually became the title track, and therefore is the perfect place to start as we present this new album to the world.”
Perpetual | Terminal is Darkest Hour’s first record in nearly seven years and “centers around the duality of ‘survival while embracing rebirth,'” in the words of guitarist Mike Schleibaum.
“We keep killing parts of ourselves to make new parts and survive,” he elaborated. “The story of the record is the story of the band.

Tobe Hooper's "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" is so raw, bleak, and gritty that one could be forgiven for thinking they discovered a legitimate snuff film. The interior of the killer family's household, festooned with human bone-encrusted furniture and lampshades made from skin, looks more like a grim discovery than a constructed set. It's well known among the film's fans that many elements of "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" were inspired by the crimes of notorious murder and arts-and-crafts enthusiast Ed Gein. Gein, who actually lived in Wisconsin, is confirmed to have murdered at least two people, although he frequently plundered a nearby graveyard for building materials. A list of Gein's grisly crafts can easily be found by true crime enthusiasts, and the makers of "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" recreated some of them in shocking detail.

CinemaThe films that have succeeded in the Hindi belt hark back to the plot lines of the ‘80s but are presented in a way that appeals to contemporary audiences.Sowmya RajendranShahid Kapoor’s Jersey, the Hindi remake of the Telugu film by the same title, was supposed to release on April 14. However, the makers have decided to postpone the film in order to avoid a clash with Kgf 2, the juggernaut from the Kannada film industry, which has been promoted as a pan-India film that will be released in five languages on the same day. The anticipation for Kgf 2 outside the south market is such that the Hindi version has 6 am shows in cities such as Mumbai, Pune and Delhi.Though Shahid Kapoor is an established star from Bollywood, with his last film Kabir Singh earning over Rs 370 crore, the film was forced to make way for Kgf 2.

Some films don’t announce themselves to you right away; occasionally one simply doesn’t register for many possible reasons – bad mood, wrong time, etc. So every now and then I’ll re-watch a film in the hope that I missed something the first time around. This brings us to this week’s Dust Off: Mausoleum (1983), a possession film so filled with goofy charm and goopy effects that I must have been comatose when I first witnessed it. Better late than never, right?
Mausoleum was released in the States in May; the 1998 Blockbuster Entertainment Guide gave it one star out of five and said it was “schlocky and silly.” Why, yes, yes it is; but for those on the lookout for some unassuming demonic dreck, are these not part of our criteria? I say to you all, yay and verily, that Mausoleum has more than enough entertainment value, and some...

And chances are you’ve sought out more of her work, paused the film when the gratuitous nude shot arrives, and hell, maybe even tracked down a poster, just to be as close as possible, for as long as possible.
Hey, we’re guys (ladies, this article may not completely appeal to you; my advance warning, in case the title didn’t deter you). We’re drawn to lovely ladies. Even vile, evil ladies. Looks can and have killed. Here’s a little proof.
Species (1995) - Natasha Henstridge: Tall, blonde, well-endowed with presence that could intimidate George Clooney, Natasha Henstridge turned the heads of the male populace in 1995 as she tackled the character of moody alien/femme fatale, Sil/Eve in the underrated sci-fi/horror hybrid Species.

Like most children of the 1970s, television viewing was a big part of my week. Beginning at 7:30 Pm and ending two and-a-half hours later, my family’s Thursday nights consisted of That’s Hollywood, Mork and Mindy, Angie, Barney Miller, and Carter Country. Not having seen Barney Miller until well into its sixth season, I just assumed that the entire show took place in the police station. Now that the show’s entire series is available in a DVD box set, courtesy of the fine folks at Shout! Factory, my initial impressions of the show were proven wrong. The pilot episode features Barney Miller’s family, specifically his wife, played with charm by Barbara Barrie. Abe Vigoda, Maxwell Gail, and Ron Glass appear from the get-go, and guest star Chu Chu Malave, who played Maria’s boyfriend who tackles...

“I didn’t know how to act,” Bobbie Bresee says of her first big-screen performance on the audio commentary for the film in question, Mausoleum. The assertion is hard to contest, but it’s also inarguable that her recollections of this 1983 schlocker are by far the best part of Bci Eclipse's double-feature disc.
The starring turn by former Playboy Bunny Bresee is far from the only problem with Mausoleum; this is the kind of movie in which the story centers on a clan named Nomed and acts like the audience can’t figure that one out right away, and in which another character knows of their history from a book helpfully titled The Nomed Family. Susan Farrell (Bresee), who once had a frightening encounter in the Nomed crypt when she was a young girl (as played by Julie Christy Murray, daughter of the film’s lighting designer, who looks nothing...
