Celebrities often have different lives before they make their way to Hollywood, to the shining light of fame and glory with flashing lights of cameras and reflection of confetti. Legendary actor Christopher Walken was among those who had a scary past, but for him, it was a cakewalk.

Walken’s legacy in Hollywood is glorious with over five decades being in the industry with his iconic voice that makes him distinguished. But before his showbiz glory and accolades, Walken was a lion tamer— it’s a job that screams terrifying for any common person.

Dan Goozee, the acclaimed artist who created posters for such films as Clash of the Titans, Superman IV and the James Bond movies Moonraker, Octopussy and A View to a Kill, has died. He was 80.
Goozee died April 7 at West Hills Hospital & Medical Center of an age-related condition he had battled for two years, his son, Rob, told The Hollywood Reporter.
The unassuming Goozee spent years as a Walt Disney Imagineering theme park consultant, crafting conceptual artwork for Disneyland Paris and Tokyo DisneySea, for Splash Mountain and Big Thunder rides, for the Imagination Pavilion and Seas Pavilion at Epcot and for the Tree of Life attraction at Animal Kingdom.
He also handled effects work for Battlestar Galactica (1978) and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979).

Christopher Walken is one of Hollywood’s most reputable actors who has a lengthy career in filmmaking. Before starring in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movie franchise, he was first recognized in 1978’s The Deer Hunter and 1985’s A View to a Kill.

There are loads of tantalizing Hollywood casting what-ifs. Tom Selleck would've played Indiana Jones had he not been previously committed to CBS' "Magnum P.I." Pierce Brosnan was set to succeed Roger Moore as James Bond after "A View to a Kill," but NBC, realizing the star of their just-canceled "Remington Steele," was a hot commodity, resurrected the show for a fifth season (after which it was canceled again). And there's always poor Dougray Scott, who had to give up the role of Wolverine in Bryan Singer's "X-Men" when "Mission: Impossible II" went over schedule.
These were franchise- and career-altering decisions. What would Harrison Ford have done after the conclusion of the "Star Wars" original trilogy in 1983? Would Brosnan have rejuvenated the flagging Bond series, thus averting the six-year retooling period between "License to Kill" and "GoldenEye?" Could Scott have connected with audiences as emphatically as Hugh Jackman did in the role of Logan?...

Nearly 40 years after he made his big screen debut with a brief appearance in the James Bond picture “A View to a Kill,” Dolph Lundgren is still best known as an actor thanks to a series of iconic roles in ’80s and ’90s favorites like “Rocky IV,” “Masters of the Universe,” and “Universal Soldier.” (More recently he’s been a fixture in the “Expendables” and “Aquaman” franchises.) Yet for the past couple of decades, Lundgren has been quietly forging a side career as an accomplished writer and director of low-budget action films, movies that belie their limited resources in ambition and craftsmanship. Like the scrappy genre directors of Hollywood’s past — filmmakers like Budd Boetticher, Sam Fuller, and Don Siegel — Lundgren uses the creative freedom of lower budgets to smuggle his personal obsessions and stylistic preoccupations into accessible entertainments that are as intelligent as they are lively.

The James Bond franchise revolutionized action cinema in the 1960s when it started with 1962’s Dr. No and stands to this day as one of the longest-running film series in history. From almost the very beginning, Bond movies strive to draw in their audiences with high-octane prologues that run before lush and stylishly rendered title sequences. These pre-title action scenes not only set the tone for the movie right out the gate but, in several instances, are the best sequences within their respective films.
This pre-title sequence tradition began with the franchise’s second movie, 1963’s From Russia with Love. Believe it or not, Dr. No does not actually contain a pre-title action scene and instead dives headfirst into its opening titles. These prologues highlight the classic elements of a spy who always served Her Majesty’s Secret Service faithfully. They also showcase how each of the actors playing Bond...

Exclusive: Quiver Distribution has picked up North American rights to the action thriller Wanted Man, co-written, directed by and starring Dolph Lundgren, for release in select theaters and on VOD on January 19, 2024.
Also starring Kelsey Grammer (Frasier) and Christina Villa (The Wedding in the Hamptons), the film centers on Johansen (Lundgren), an aging detective whose outdated policing methods have given the department a recent public relations problem. To save his job, he is sent to Mexico to extradite a female witness (Villa) to the murders of two DEA agents. Once there, he finds not only his old opinions challenged, but that bad guys on both sides of the border are now gunning for him and his witness.

Terence Young's 1963 triumph "From Russia with Love" was the James Bond series' first sequel, and, 60 years later, it's still considered by many 007 aficionados to be one of franchise's finest installments. It's a brisk, surprisingly brutal film. The gadgetry popularized by 1964's "Goldfinger" (and launched well over the top by 1965's "Thunderball") is kept to a sensible minimum; for the most part, this is a revenge film in which our licensed-to-kill protagonist is lured into an elaborate defection plot designed to knock him off for having killed Spectre's Dr. No in the first movie. Narratively, it's as small potatoes as the mostly maligned "Casino Royale" follow-up "Quantum of Solace" (a revenge film in the other direction), but, at the time, it had the advantage of working within an unformed universe.

To state a very true, indisputable thing right up front: Pierce Brosnan is the best James Bond (in my opinion). What's more, Martin Campbell's 1995 entry "GoldenEye" is one of the three best of all the James Bond movies, and Roger Spottiswoode's 1997 film "Tomorrow Never Dies" is nothing to sneeze at. Indeed, watching "Tomorrow Never Died" in 2023 posits an eerily accurate trajectory of the future computer technology, and its Steve Jobs-like villain Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) easily predicts the culture of I'm-always-right tech-bros we currently find ourselves mired in.
Briefly, the villain in "Tomorrow Never Dies" seeks to digitally control the flow of information, making him a soft-spoken, cyber-jacked version of William Randolph Hearst. He aims to start a war between China and England, hoping to secure broadcasting rights in China for the rest of his life. In 1997, such a plot seemed both hopelessly nerdy and legitimately terrifying.

There’s a lot to watch on Prime Video in October and, as you may have guessed, there’s spooky stuff galore in amongst Prime’s usual rotation of extensive library content.
In the movie Totally Killer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka travels back in time to the 1980s to stop a serial killer. Then there’s Make Me Scream, a Halloween special that challenges celebrities to “a gruesome game of terror.” Renfield will also be streaming on the service for anyone who’s been dying (muahahaha!) to catch the Nic Cage Dracula film.
Outside of Prime Video’s more creepy fare, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will debut, Upload will be back for a third season, and new film Awareness should scratch your sci-fi itch. Meanwhile, for Frasier heads – those who consider themselves utterly Frasier-pilled – all eleven seasons of the Cheers spinoff show will be streaming at the touch of a button.

Prince William’s wife, the Princess of Wales (formerly known as Kate Middleton), is one of the most fashionable and stylish women in the world. And it’s no secret that she has influenced a whole generation with what she wears. But who influenced her style?
Well according to a body language expert, Kate likely looked to another member of the royal family for inspiration (but it may not be who you think).

Duran Duran launched their 2023 “Future Past North American Tour” at Napa Valley’s BottleRock Festival on Saturday, May 27th.
To kick off their headlining set, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group quickly dispatched several of their biggest hits, including “Hungry Like the Wolf,” “Notorious,” and “A View to a Kill.” In a career-spanning sequence befitting the ethos behind their 2021 LP, Future Past, the band reached as far back as their 1981 debut single “Planet Earth,” while touching on key eras with tracks like 1984’s “The Reflex,” 1993’s “Ordinary World,” and their latest LP’s “Anniversary.”
The night also included the first live rendition of the Future Past duet “Give It All Up” with Tove Lo, who performed with the band and separately earlier in the day. Following 1981’s “Girls on Film” as the main set’s closer, the band returned with a double Rio encore of “Save a Prayer” and the iconic title track.

Dolph Lundgren started his acting career with a James Bond movie (A View to a Kill) in 1985, quickly followed by Rocky IV, and then a string of action films. Christopher Walken is one of a kind. No one else in Hollywood is quite like him, and for sure, no one else sounds like him. He’s a character actor who, in his later years, became so famous that, in some ways, he became a parody of himself even if he’s undoubtedly laughed his way to the bank. Indeed, despite being almost eighty, Walken is as busy as ever and shows no signs of slowing down.
Here’s the thing, though – when people do Walken impersonations or delight in his eccentricities, they tend to lose sight of the fact that in many of his roles, Walken is a pretty brilliant and versatile actor. If you know him most for his appearances on Saturday Night Live or in comedies, you owe it to yourself to learn more about the scope of his career, and that’s where this episode of...

Six actors, excluding the non-canon takes in Casino Royale (1967), have put on James Bond’s tux and holstered his Walther Ppk. That number will only grow as future film adventures unfold. In fact, the search is already on for the next 007 following Daniel Craig’s departure.
However, as many performers have taken on Bond himself, there are even more who have filled the role of the dastardly villain trying to bring him down. From Christopher Walken’s scenery chewing Max Zorin in A View to a Kill to Mads Mikkelsen’s starkly terrifying Le Chiffre in Casino Royale (2006), there’s no denying the 007 franchise has some of the best baddies in cinema history. But 60 years since his debut, the secret agent has defeated virtually every kind of evil mastermind there is, and it’ll be up to Bond 26 to refresh the formula for a new era of stories. As...

It’s been 60 years since “Dr. No” introduced the most famous fictional spy to movie audiences, opening with a black and white graphic of an eye, inserted with the image of a man turning and pointing a gun – accompanied by one of the most famous instrumentals in cinema history. In the six decades since, there have been 25 Bond films with six different actors portraying the suave spy, as well as 25 accompanying theme songs ripe for debate over which is best.
Monty Norman‘s “James Bond Theme” was so perfect that it has been used in some form in every Bond film since, but each installment also has its own theme, featuring some of the most prolific composers, songwriters and performers of their time. In the 1960s, John Barry took over as composer, eventually working on 11 of the films, and collaborating with a variety of lyricists and artists, ranging from “Oliver!

No Time to Die, Daniel Craig’s last James Bond movie left theaters lukewarm. The movie in itself wasn’t bad at all – yet it wasn’t able to compete with Craig’s first blockbuster. It was back in 2006, when the now-53-year-old made his James Bond debut with Casino Royale.
While James Blond [who had became a running joke] received the most attention from fans and critics in the months preceding up to the film’s release, many viewers were pleased when they watched it.
Casino Royale has become the most popular Bond picture. Therefore, we want to honor it presenting to you some unique and amazing information that you will certainly remember the next time you see this epic spy tale.

Believe it or not, there once was a time when James Bond movies were fun. And more than fun, Bond himself had fun in them! As difficult as it is to sometimes imagine after Daniel Craig, James Bond was previously a character of high camp and sheepish boarding school humor. And no actor ever better personified that side of Bond than Roger Moore.
Moore was the third actor to portray Bond in Eon Productions’ 007 series, although for many (particularly those who came of age in the ‘70s and ‘80s) he remains the definitive portrayal. With the naturally debonair demeanor, the ease with which he delivers a pun, and ever the boyish twinkle in his eye, Moore was the first Bond who seemed naturally at home in his elite lifestyle. Whereas Sean Connery and George Lazenby could be rough around the edges, suggesting they had to claim their refined place in polite society,...

I was 13 years old in 1984, and MTV was less than two years old. My friends and I were captivated by “music TV,” and never more so than when British band Duran Duran, which was composed of five good-looking men, captivated Americans with their exotic videos. “New Moon on Monday” was the first song that garnered my attention, and I joined millions of other screaming girls across the globe to become a “Durannie.” And now after a lengthy, undeserved wait, the band enjoys induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, by guitarist John Taylor and keyboardist Nick Rhodes, along with another friend, Duran Duran named themselves after the villain in the 1968 sci-fi movie “Barbarella.” Band members changed over the next couple of years, and Taylor eventually switched to bass, teaching himself to play. "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" is a movie that used to be a punchline, and the name of its star, George Lazenby, a joke. Back in the '80s, there were only two "real" choices for best Bond, and they were Roger Moore or Sean Connery. Bringing in Lazenby was like suggesting that Captain Decker could be up to Kirk or Picard standards on "Star Trek." Yet, over the years, and as more Bond films have been released, suddenly it's gaining respect again. By Rotten Tomatoes rankings, it's even a top 10 film!
Part of that reassessment is that Bond no longer feels like a choice between macho Sean Connery and knowingly corny Roger Moore. We've Seen Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton, and Daniel Craig take a crack, and Lazenby's mix of Connery machismo with a bit of Moore-like humor (and a hint of tragedy) now falls better on a spectrum than into a binary.

Christopher Walken's place in Hollywood is hard to pin down. On one hand, he's a serious actor who won an Academy Award for his portrayal of a traumatized war veteran in "Deer Hunter," and earned critical praise for his roles in "The Dead Zone," "True Romance," and an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in "Catch Me if You Can." Walken has serious acting chops, but he's arguably more famous for his "Eraserhead" hairstyle, New York accent, and dramatic pauses.
His unique way of speaking captures everyone's attention and has inspired many Hollywood stars to perfect their own impression of the veteran actor, which Walken admits he finds amusing. Despite being an Oscar-worthy actor, Walken doesn't take himself too seriously. During a 2022 interview with The New York Times, Walken admitted to sometimes playing characters in a peculiar or humorous manner for his own amusement.

Roger Moore turned 58 while he was shooting his seventh James Bond feature "A View to a Kill." He'd already huffed and puffed his way through action sequences in his previous 007 effort, "Octopussy," but he looked downright spent in this Summer of 1985 offering. It was time for Moore to hand over his Walther pistol, but replacing him would be no small feat. Having occupied the role for 12 years (three more than Sean Connery), Moore had come to exemplify the role for an entire generation, most of whom were born after Ian Fleming had published his final Bond novel. For this cohort, his suave, yet silly characterization was what Bond was supposed to be.

At long last, all 25 James Bond films will be available for streaming in one place, with the entire 007 franchise officially landing on Amazon Prime Video starting next week on October 5.
For years due to various rights issues, the Bond movies were scattered across numerous disparate streaming services and never all in one place, with some — namely a couple of the Daniel Craig entries — being especially tricky to track down for streaming. As part of the 60th anniversary celebration for Bond, but also in no small part thanks to Amazon’s acquisition of MGM earlier this year, that’s finally changing, and Bond fans now have access to all the films as included with a Prime Video subscription.

Pierce Brosnan was James Bond before he was James Bond. As Remington Steele, the fictional creation of private investigator Laura Holt (Stephanie Zimbalist) for five seasons during the 1980s on NBC, Brosnan nailed the part of a debonair rake who could handle himself in a scrape and look downright spiffy doing it. One look at the actor in a tuxedo was all you needed. He'd just entered his thirties, and was everything fifty-plus-year-old Roger Moore, who'd huffed-and-puffed his way through "A View to a Kill," was not. He was the 007 heir apparent.
It was time for a change, and after a successful screen test, the Bond producers offered Brosnan the part. The timing was perfect: "Remington Steele" had been canceled due to declining ratings, which seemingly thrust the Irish actor into free agency. NBC, however, kiboshed the deal by exercising a 60-day option in Brosnan's contract, forcing him into an...

It has been nearly a year since Daniel Craig hung up his Walther Ppk and retired as our resident James Bond after 15 years in the role. But even with "No Time to Die" well in the rearview mirror, we don't seem to be all that much closer to getting a new 007 for the next generation to (hopefully) embrace. That's still a couple of years away and, even when that search gets underway in earnest, that actor is going to have to make quite the long-term commitment.
Longtime "James Bond" franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson recently caught up with Variety and addressed the topic of the search for Craig's eventual successor. Broccoli addressed the fact that long-time internet favorite Idris Elba has no interest in becoming 007. While the producer said he's "great" and that they "love" him, it all comes down to a decade or more of committing to the part.

Did you know you were originally supposed to be able to play as every James Bond in GoldenEye 007 for the N64? Unfortunately, some licensing issues robbed us of the chance to turn what is already the definitive James Bond video game into an even better version of itself. Fortunately, some dedicated developers have recently released a GoldenEye 007 mod that converts that classic game into a playable version of Roger Moore’s greatest Bond movie: The Spy Who Loved Me.
As spotted by Eurogamer, this GoldenEye 007 mod (which you can find at N64 Vault) completely converts the N64 game’s original campaign mode and instead allows you to play out the major events of the 1977 film, The Spy Who Loved Me. While the mod’s developers recommend playing their project on an actual N64 for the ideal experience, you can technically run it through an emulator as well.

It's practically a Hollywood tradition for actors to appear as background extras or in bit parts before they make it big, and Eon Productions' series of James Bond films have been around for so long that multiple actors who appeared in them when they were still unknown have gone on to greater fame, including Joanna Lumley (who appears in 1969's "On Her Majesty's Secret Service") and Gerard Butler (who turns up briefly in 1997's "Tomorrow Never Dies").
Yet Dolph Lundgren's background appearance in 1985's "A View to a Kill" isn't a typical instance of an actor starting out. Lundgren's casting in the role of a...

The James Bond franchise was in dire need of a reboot after the creative failure of 2002's "Die Another Day." Pierce Brosnan's fourth go-round as 007 was a box-office hit, but the silly, gadget-happy formula he'd inherited from Roger Moore's iteration of the character had hit a nadir with the introduction of an invisible car. Was it more ridiculous than much of "Moonraker" or "A View to a Kill?" Perhaps not. But the series' unrelenting disconnect from reality and anything approaching genuine human emotion had left the character with nowhere to go but bust.

During the first half of the 1980s, the announcement of every new James Bond film was met with speculation about whether then-current 007 Roger Moore would continue in the role. At that point, Moore did not have a long term contract but negotiated his deal on a film-by-film basis, which sometimes resulted in producer Albert Broccoli’s Eon Productions auditioning new actors for the part as a means of leveraging their position with Moore.
However, by the time of his seventh Bond effort, 1985’s A View to a Kill, it was clear that the 57-year-old Moore was simply aging out of the role. Moore stepped down, and auditions began in earnest for a new Bond to take over in what would become 1987’s The Living Daylights. One of the actors under serious consideration, and who was reportedly the frontrunner with some members of Eon, was New Zealand-based Sam Neill.

Continuing in the trend of the first Dune film from director Denis Villeneuve, the newcomers to the Dune: Part Two ensemble cast have been nothing but heavy-hitters: Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan; rising star Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha (allegedly); and now the Grand Poobah of them all, Christopher Walken as Shaddam IV, head of House Corrino and Padishah Emperor of the Imperium!

As he releases his latest film as a director, what do you want to ask the man who played the ultimate Euro-iceman in 80s action flicks?
Here’s some things you might not know about Dolph Lundgren: he’s got a master’s in chemical engineering, Jerry Springer played the US president in his directorial debut The Defender, and his real first name is … Hans.
Well, would Hans Lundgren have been the same big deal? The ultimate Euro-iceman in the 1980s, he played a villain in Bond film A View to a Kill (at the behest of then-girlfriend Grace Jones who had a starring role), and man-mountain Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in the fondly remembered Rocky IV. Lundgren, notoriously, put Stallone in hospital with a dangerously swollen heart after he was allowed to whale on his co-star, no holds barred, for a few seconds.

While Daniel Craig’s celebrated extended occupancy as star of the James Bond franchise has come to a poetic end with the recent release of No Time to Die, conversations about his replacement are rampant. Yet, with the field of candidates being more demographically open than previous vacancies, speculators might overlook the possibility of a more conventional—white and British—Bond, like, say, superstar Henry Cavill. Thus, the arrival of a deepfake video with Cavill swapped in as Bond is opening some eyes.
Deepfake/VFX artist StryderHD has provided a simulation of sorts for a prospective Henry Cavill James Bond tenure with a new video that places The Witcher and Man of Steel star into 1987 outing The Living Daylights over the countenance of Timothy Dalton. Indeed, the video—which further cements the eerily-realistic nature of shockingly-accessible, rapidly-improving deepfake technology—effectively demonstrates how seamless of an aesthetic transition the role of Bond would be for Cavill.

“We have all the time in the world.”
When James Bond (Daniel Craig) says that line to Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) nine minutes into “No Time to Die,” it may not mean much to the average moviegoer. But to Bond fans worldwide, it’s one of the most important in the history of the franchise, and a subtle hint of possible tragedy to come.
For “We have all the time in the world” is not just the key line in the screenplay of 1969’s “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” it’s the title of the song performed in the mid-section of that movie by jazz great Louis Armstrong, derived from British composer John Barry’s love theme for the film.
Now, that memorable music from 52 years ago has been interpolated into the latest 007 epic no fewer than three times. The melody is heard in Hans Zimmer’s “No Time to Die...
