Robin Williams and Pam Dawber both got to know each other pretty well working on the hit television show Mork & Mindy. After the series ended, their careers would go down different paths. But after three decades, the pair found those paths converging in the series The Crazy Ones.

Dawber continued to be a presence on television for a while after her Mork & Mindy days. She headlined another sitcom in the 1980s, My Sister Sam, where she played the titular character. She offered her talents to a few other shows, like The Twilight Zone before taking a sabbatical from the film industry. Her break from acting allowed Dawber to devote more time to being a mom.

Lynne Marta, an actor who maintained a steady and prolific TV and film career for nearly 40 years best known for roles on Love, American Style and the 1984 film Footloose, died of cancer in Los Angeles January 11. She was 78.
Calling Marta “a beautiful light,” the actor’s friend Joan Sobel wrote on Facebook, “My friend, Lynne Marta lost her good fight. A wonderfully talented actress and a beautiful singer whose voice was of the angels. A dear heart who adored her friends both human and furry. I will miss her terribly.”
Born on October 30, 1945, in Somerville, NJ, Marta began her TV career in 1966 with appearances on Gidget and The Monkees, and relatively few years went by without a film or TV credit through her 2004 role in an episode of the NBC drama series American Dreams. "Mork & Mindy" originated as a spin-off from the "Happy Days" season 5 episode "My Favorite Orkan" which aired in 1978. According to the Robin Williams documentary "Come Inside My Mind," the episode was created to capitalize on a little-known movie called "Star Wars" that "Happy Days" creator Garry Marshal's son loved.
At the time, Williams was a recent Julliard graduate still awaiting his big break and quickly gaining a reputation as an off-the-wall local street performer. Faster than you can say "Nanu Nanu," Robin Williams' casting on "Mork & Mindy" launched him to stardom. His quirky, quick-witted improvisations, voices, and pratfalls were perfect for the out-of-this-world character of Mork. The show itself aired for four solid seasons from 1978 to 1982. Since then, several members of the series' cast — including the beloved Williams — have sadly passed away. However, one of the main stars is still living to this day.

Rebecca Schaeffer thought it was sweet that a fan was sending her stuffed animals and other little gifts at the studio lot where her sitcom My Sister Sam was filmed. The CBS show, on which she played a spunky teen who goes to live with her photographer sister in San Francisco, was her big break after just a few acting jobs, and she had quickly become a favorite of the Seventeen-reading set. My Sister Sam ended in 1988 after two seasons, but the work kept coming. Schaeffer co-starred in the racy big-screen farce Scenes From the Class Struggle in Beverly Hills, which hit theaters in June...

"My parents kept things real — I had no idea they were famous," says the son of sportscaster Tom Harmon and actress Elyse Knox. "In fact, it didn’t hit me until one day when I was riding in the car with my father in Ann Arbor, Mi — I was maybe eight and could barely see above the dashboard — and we stopped at a crosswalk. Suddenly, we were surrounded by people who recognized my dad and were really thrilled to see him. I remember looking at this man I thought I knew so well and thinking, Who are you?" Millions of people ask the same question about Mark to this day. He’s the star of TV’s No. 1 drama yet he maintains an intense sense of privacy.

"Stalker" creator Kevin Williamson walked into a room full of hostile critics at the TCA 2014 summer press tour, but that's when you get when your pilot opens with a random woman getting doused with gasoline and set on fire in her own car by a stalker. Williamson's attempts to deflect the logical questions provoked by such ugly exploitation ranged from humor to self-importance to flat out frustration. His stars, Maggie Q and Dylan McDermott, sat on either side and remained largely silent throughout the panel (save for a few direct, and totally generic, questions that came their way). There's no doubt a good deal of the reaction was driven by Williamson's recent work fetishizing murder sprees on a weekly basis for Fox's "The Following," although he doesn't see much similarity himself. "I'm really curious to see what people do when they compare the two shows," Williamson allowed. "To me it's apples and oranges.

For a recent feature in Entertainment Weekly, we spoke to showrunners who’ve had the pleasure – and pressure — of wrapping up some of TV’s most beloved series. Murphy Brown creator Diane English had left the CBS comedy after season 4 but returned for its tenth and final season and penned its hour-long 1998 series finale. In the two-part “Never Can Say Goodbye,” Murphy (five-time Emmy winner Candice Bergen) — who’d battled breast cancer that year – contemplated retirement as she dealt with a second scare. While under anesthesia for a surgery that ultimately confirmed she was cancer-free, Murphy scored her biggest interview,...

Nothing says "I love you" quite like the gift of imploding large buildings. I know that probably sounds like a rather odd, not to mention extreme, way by which to prove your love for a woman, but then none of you is "The Love Bomber". Woman can't resist a man that can make shit blow up. Why do you think Michael Bay gets laid as much as he does?
Today being Valentine's Day, what better time to pay homage to one of cinema's most lovelorn maniacs? "The Love Bomber" was the villain of the 1984 made-for-tv thriller City Killer, the terrifyingly romantic tale of a deranged stalker's quest to prove his worth to the woman he loves by demolishing infrastructure.
