Filming was delayed because the Helltrack starting ramp was so high that none of the riders wanted to go down it. The ramp was cut down to a 25 foot tall version. BMX Plus magazine published an article about it.
The character of Cru is loosely based off of Eddie Fiola, who did most of Bill Allen's stunts in the film.
The original title of the film was "Balls Out".
During practice for the film, Rick Moliterno (one of the stunt riders for the film), broke his leg. This was written later into the film, when Cru is about to start the Helltrack race, but Rick, sitting on Christian's truck, asks him to sign his cast.
