The late, great, Patrick Swayze was taken from us far too soon, but left behind a legacy of phenomenal films, performances, and characters to hold near and dear. Before pivoting into a full-time acting career, Swayze was trained in ballet, ice skating, martial arts, and football. Pairing this with his dazzling good looks and acting prowess allowed him to thrive in a variety of film genres, playing fast-dancing heartthrobs and action hunks in equal measure. He had his professional breakthrough as a dancer with the Disney Theatrical Group before taking on the replacement role of Danny Zuko in a Broadway production of "Grease." This put him on the radar of Hollywood, and he made his film debut as Ace in the 1979 film "Skatetown, U.S.A."
But when the 1980s came calling, Swayze exploded in popularity and became a household name. While he certainly hit his peak when I was just a child,...

Earlier this year, during each night on their tour, The 5 Seconds of Summer Show, 5Sos offered an earnest refrain to their audience. “Memories I hold to keep safe, and I live for that look on your face,” all four members sang into their mics during “Best Friends,” from their latest album 5SOS5. The tour — complete with elaborate skits, copious amounts of confetti, and fan-favorite deep cuts — was a celebration not only of their 10th anniversary as a band, but also of the fanbase they’ve cultivated during that time.

Elvis Presley liked his song “Don’t.” His music publisher was upset he even heard it in the first place. One of Elvis’ songwriters said that writing a hit song for the “Heartbreak Hotel” singer could lead to problems.

Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller collaborated on several of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’s most famous songs, including “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” and “Don’t.” In the 2009 book Hound Dog: The Leiber and Stoller Autobiography, Stoller discussed the origin of the latter. “Saturday morning, Jerry and I got together and wrote ‘Don’t,'” he recalled. “On Sunday, we got Young Jessie of The Flairs to sing the demo in an Elvis-like mode. (Jessie had recently substituted for Leon Hughes on The Coasters’ recordings of ‘Searchin” and ‘Young Blood.’)”

It’s hard to believe today, after Speed and four Matrix movies, and four John Wick movies, but there
was a time when Keanu Reeves was not considered viable as an action star, especially after his portrayal
of lovable time-traveling doofus Ted Theodore Logan in Bill & Ted’S Excellent Adventure.
But that perception radically changed in 1991 with the adrenaline extravaganza Point Break, which
featured Reeves as an FBI agent hot on the trail of some bank-robbing surfers led by Patrick Swayze. But how exactly did this preposterous combination ever reach the beach? Grab your board and catch a wave as we find out Wtf Happened to this movie!
The idea for Point Break first surfaced in the mind of filmmaker Rick King [The Killing Time] after he
saw a newspaper article declaring Los Angeles as the bank-robbing capital of America thanks to the
getaway convenience provided by the city’s numerous freeways.

The 5 Seconds of Summer Show, the tenth anniversary celebration that the pop-rock band hosted at the close of 2021, was part career-spanning concert film and part Saturday Night Live skit poking fun at their decade-long evolution. It featured a recreation of the video for one of their earliest releases — 2012’s “Gotta Get Out” — alongside their biggest hits, like “Youngblood” and “She Looks So Perfect,” and a funeral for their faded black skinny jeans. But the one thing that has never changed about 5Sos is their commitment to delivering an unrelenting live show.

Showbiz careers have no logic because there are too many unpredictable factors: audiences’ fickle tastes, industry perceptions and, of course, luck. But even given the elusive nature of career success, Keanu Reeves is unique.
For one thing, he is stronger than ever after a 35-year career, showing a longevity that might have surprised even his ardent supporters in the 1980s.
Most actors would be thrilled to have one successful film franchise, but Reeves — who celebrates his 57th birthday on Sept. 2 — has three: “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” which in 1989 established him as a comedy actor; plus “The Matrix” (1999) and “John Wick” (2014), both of which put him in the pantheon of action heroes.
Reeves, who is of Hawaiian, Chinese, English, Irish and Portuguese heritage, made his professional debut in 1984, with small roles in various TV series, then made his big-screen bow in “Youngblood” (1986), which tapped into his skill at hockey.

Monday’s final episode of The Voice’s Season 20 Knockouts really did make me see stars. I gave out grades of A to no fewer than six — yes, six — contestants. And they really, really deserved them, I wasn’t just getting overexcited as I sometimes do. (Yeah, I can admit it.)
Unfortunately, none of those singers were among the quartet that was competing in the Four-Way Knockout. (Tell me again why we can’t bring back Ethan Lively or Halley Greg.) Read on, and we’ll review all the performances, the good, the great and… oh dear. Poor Connor Christian.

The all-important live shows of “The Voice” Season 20 are almost here, but first we have to finish off the knockout rounds. The Monday, April 26 episode will feature the final knockouts of the spring with mega mentor Snoop Dogg, and NBC has already revealed the line-up that fans will see on the two-hour episode. Who’s facing off against whom? Scroll down for your “The Voice” spoilers of these key final knockout pairings, or watch the video above.
The knockouts are the important round yet, as it’s when the contestants get to pick their own songs and show who they want to be as an artist. Their coaches pair them up and both singers perform on the big stage. After the performances, the judge saves one person and sends the other one home … unless a rival coach decides to use their final “steal” to acquire them for their own team.

One of the biggest acquisitions in gaming history is official: Microsoft now owns ZeniMax Media and its treasured game publisher Bethesda Softworks. This means that Xbox Game Studios has the keys to all of the publisher’s major studios and properties, too. Everything Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios have to offer is now at the disposal of the Xbox brand.
This is both good news and bad news, depending on whether you’re an avid Xbox player or not. The Bethesda acquisition means tons of new first-party titles for the Xbox platform. The Elder Scrolls 6, Starfield, Indiana Jones, and other unannounced projects now join Halo Infinite, Hellblade II, Avowed, Everwild, Perfect Dark, and Fable as reasons to own an Xbox or PC as well as Game Pass. If there’s one thing that all corners of the internet seem to have in common, it’s a unified love of Keanu Reeves. The actor has always had a reputation for being a kind and generous soul, and despite having been in the industry for over 35 years, he’s never been as popular or beloved as he is today.

Charlie Puth has teamed up with 5 Seconds of Summer for a new version of the band’s recent song “Easier.” On this rendition, titled “Easier – Remix,” brings in some additional layers of sound and vocals, amping up the synth-laden pop single as the musicians croon, “Is it easier to stay/ Is it easier to go/ I don’t wanna know/ Oh but I know that I’m never ever gonna change/ And you know that you’re always gonna stay the same.”

The minute Wolfenstein: Youngblood boots to life, it’s off to a good start. The logos of Machine Games and Arkane Studios flash across the screen, a partnership that, on paper, is a match made in heaven. The former is comprised largely of the team that created the glorious and underrated Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. The latter has spent the last few years reviving a brand of gameplay not seen since the halcyon days of System Shock.
And yet, this is the result? A buggy, messy, bombastic co-op shooter that feels like a stopgap before something bigger and better comes along? Why Youngblood exists in the first place is hard to explain, save for the obvious – it’ll make money. To add insult to injury, microtransactions are present — an inclusion that does not bode well.
While there’s ostensibly a story on offer, Youngblood is designed to...

Keanu Reeves is a wonderfully mysterious man who has been in an endless number of films. He has the net worth to show for it, too: somewhere north of $350 million, according to various reports. The Canadian-American actor has the type of quirky personality that we look for in a best friend, and while we can't say that our relationship with him is on that level just yet, we can only wish for that sort of thing before going to sleep at night. But as Keanu fans, we've seen him demonstrate his wisdom, along with his obvious talent for acting. And then there's his extreme generosity, which seems to go unmatched in Hollywood. This man, quite frankly, has one of the longest résumés on the planet.
According to some unverified reports, Keanu has an estimated net worth of $360 million. As you might recall, the actor got his start in movies like Youngblood,...

Bethesda kicked off their 2019 E3 press conference by announcing updates and expansions for some of their biggest games including Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls, and Rage 2. A few brand-new titles were announced including Ghostwire: Tokyo, a very promising title from the makers of Resident Evil and The Evil Within. Video game streaming seems to be all the rage right now and Bethesda has jumped on that bandwagon with a service of their own.
Fallout 76 Updates
Despite Fallout 76 receiving mixed reviews upon its release last year, Bethesda have been hard at work to improve the game. During the press conference, Todd Howard took the stage to show off the new updates for Fallout 76, including a new 52 player battle royale mode called Nuclear Winter and the Wastelanders update, which will have new story quests, NPCs to interact with, and branching dialogue options. 5 Seconds of Summer have gone on quite the musical journey in the last five years. The Australian pop band were initially primed to be the successors to One Direction’s boy-band throne, but soon, their pop-punk taste took over, and the group received co-signs from (and co-writes with) such luminaries of the genre as Good Charlotte’s Madden brothers and All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth. On their third album, last year’s Youngblood, 5Sos changed course again and grew up. Their sound was more akin to Imagine Dragons or...

Hey, "The Voice" fans. Tonight, April 29, 2019, the top 24 finally performed for your votes to get into the top 13. Of course, the judges: Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were on hand like they always are. For the first time, Apple streams will count as votes. There's a limit of ten streams per eligible song per Apple ID. To get things started tonight, Rod Stokes from Team Kelly hit the stage to sing, "Midnight Rider" by Allman Brothers. They didn't go to the judges for any comments on his performance or any other performances. I'm guessing that's because of time constraints. I mean they had 24 freaking people performing tonight. So, they had to hurry it along. The Voice gets good rating, but not that good. NBC's like, "You guys gotta wrap this show up in two hours." With that said, Matthew Johnson from Team Kelly Clarkson hopped on stage to sing,...

Monday’s two-hour episode of “The Voice” will be jam-packed as two dozen artists take to the stage to sing for America’s votes. Unlike previous seasons of the hit show, this 16th edition does not have the coaches coming into this round with the same-sized teams. Rather, following the live cross battles, Blake Shelton boasts a roster of eight artists while his pal Adam Levine has only four. Both reigning two-time champ Kelly Clarkson and rookie coach John Legend have the usual six artists apiece on their teams.
We’ve done some digging on iTunes and have discovered spoilers of the songs that the Top 24 will perform live on April 29. Take a look below at the titles of these tunes as well as the names of the artists that made them famous. Then cast your vote for the coach that you think has the strongest team at this stage of the season 16 competition.

On Sunday’s “American Idol,” two of the Top 8 contestants were eliminated: Walker Burroughs and Alyssa Raghu. They performed admirably but the competition on Queen Night was just too tough. They fell just short of making the Top 6 who will sing again for America’s votes on May 5. Those leading half dozen vote-getters as revealed by Ryan Seacrest are: Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, Wade Cota, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg.(Vote in our ‘American Idol’ Top 8 winner poll.)
We asked you which of the two artists to be sent home was robbed of a place in the Top 6. Your overwhelming pick is Walker, a 20-year-old charmer from Birmingham, who captured a whopping 76% of the vote as of this writing. Alyssa, a 16-year-old talent from Orlando, has registered 24% of the total tally to date. Which of these artists would you most like to have seen avoid elimination and continue in the competition?...

The Sunday April 28 episode of the ABC revival of “American Idol” showcased the Top 8. Each of the finalists sang one song from the Queen back catalogue. And they paired up for duets of classic movie tunes. America voted for their favorites in real-time, with the results revealed by host Ryan Seacrest at the end of the two-hour live episode. The top six vote-getters — Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, , Wade Cota, Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, Laine Hardy, and Madison VanDenburg — moved on in the competition to be crowned winner of season 17.
The bottom two — Walker Burroughs and Alyssa Raghu — faced elimination and were sent home after the three judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie chose not to use their single save of the season. Which of these two artists do you think was robbed of a place in the Top 8?

Alyssa Raghu is all but certain to face elimination on “American Idol” this Sunday according to the results of our poll of viewers. She was the last artist revealed to make the Top 8 on last Sunday’s Disney Night episode. And she has earned only a measly 2% in our survey of “American Idol” fans heading into Queen Night on April 28.
The other contestant joining her in the bottom two is likely to be Walker Burroughs who merited a mere 3% in our poll results. Each can only avoid elimination if they are saved by judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie who can invoke this power just one time in season 17.
All eight singers still in the competition will take to the stage on Sunday to sing a song from the back catalogue of the band Queen and then do duets with each other on classic movie tunes. Of the other six,...

The “American Idol” Top 8 will sing Queen songs and also duet with another contestant on a movie tune as they vie for your votes on Sunday April 28. Only six of them will make it to the next stage of the competition and continue on in their quest to be crowned season 17 winner. Early favorite Alejandro Aranda, whose audition video went viral, is far out front in our viewers poll. But while he still takes a commanding 39% of the total tally, Laine Hardy has jumped up to 22% support.
The only other contestants to crack double digits in our power rankings are Wade Cota with 11% and Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon at 10%. Laci Kaye Booth and Madison VanDenburg each have a lucky 7%. The two contestants all but certain to be sent eliminated on Sunday’s show are Walker Burroughs (3%) and Alyssa Raghunandan (2%).

“American Idol” is halfway through the Top 20 stage of the competition and seven of the singers in Group 1 have made the cut to sing on the live shows starting April 14. Which of these these lucky seven do you think could go all the way and win season 17? Vote in our poll below and then sound off in the comments section.
The first wave of contestants in the Top 14 were revealed at the end of the April 7 episode of this revival on ABC hosted Ryan Seacrest. In episodes taped weeks ago, the remaining score of artists from the Top 40 were divided into two groups. Each one of these two dozen hopefuls had to perform both solo and in duets with celebrities in front of judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie. That trio of talent then determined if each contestant deserved a place in the Top 14.
