Chicago – One of the most famous bow tie stylists in the world, and one of the greatest advocates for understanding our universe is Bill Nye, “The Science Guy.” He used that nickname in the 1990s, when he hosted a popular kids TV show with that title. He was at the Barnes & Noble book store at Old Orchard in Skokie, Ill., to promote his new book, “Unstoppable: Harnessing Science to Change the World.”
William Stanford “Bill” Nye was born in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Cornell University with a mechanical engineering degree in the late 1970s. After stints at Boeing Corporation and as a consultant in the aeronautics industry, he also did sketch comedy in Seattle, where he gained the nickname doing some science demonstrations as part of the show. This led to appearances on “Back to the Future: The Animated Series,” which in turn got him “Bill Nye the Science Guy,...

Ant-Man 2 is attracting the services of the director if Ant-Man 1...
Given how relatively little time he had to settle into the director's chair of this year's Ant-Man before pressing ahead with production, most felt that Peyton Reed did a good job on the film. It certainly left us wondering what he could to if he had a proper run-up at making an Ant-Man movie.
And it looks like we're going to find out.
Two weeks ago, Marvel confirmed that it was pressing ahead with a sequel. Ant-Man And The Wasp is set for release on July 6th 2018. And now we learn that Peyton Reed has entered negotiations to direct the movie.
No other personnel are on board yet, although it's fairly clear that Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly will be back. As for who is writing Ant-Man And The Wasp? That remains to be seen.

The future has arrived. October 21, 2015, the date Doc, Marty and Jennifer travel to in “Back to the Future Part II” is now the present, and we can make the final assessment of what the movie predicted accurately and inaccurately about how the world would look 26 years after the sequel's release. Among the things the “Back to the Future” sequel got right about the future: video games you play without your hands. Areas where the movie was off-track: We’re still waiting on flying cars. Cell phones are nowhere to be seen in 2015 Hill Valley. And print newspapers are still the foremost source of news. Yup, Doc uses the October 22, 2015 print issue of the Hill Valley edition of USA Today to show Marty what happens to his son. In the real world, USA Today is taking this opportunity to tie in its brand to the Back to the Future Day buzz,...

Peyton Reed on the conditions of using Thomas The Tank Engine in Marvel's Ant-Man movie...
As was showcased in the trailers and promos for the film, there's a very special character cameo in Marvel's latest movie, Ant-Man. And that'd be Thomas The Tank Engine. For those who haven't seen the film, we won't reveal exactly where he fits into the movie, short of to say it's a memorable moment or two we get with one of the planet's most famous trains.
So how did it come about?
Chatting to Film School Rejects, Ant-Man director Peyton Reed has revealed that "I believe in Edgar [Wright] and Joe Cornish's original drafts it was a train set ... at some point in the process that predated my involvement, it became Thomas".
Not that things were that simple. Peyton Reed, of course, joined the Ant-Man project relatively late in the day, having just a few...

A different opening? Ant-Man in a casino? Michael Peña dancing? The Ant-Man team has been discussing deleted scenes...
Marvel’s Ant-Man is now out in cinemas, making decent-if-not-Avengers-sized money and garnering a fair collection of positive reviews. Of course, though, this being a wretched hive of geek and nerdery, we’re just as interested to discuss what isn’t in the movie as we are the actual finished film itself (indeed, we’ve already got into the subatomic-level minutiae of the film, here).
A recent interview compilation from MTV UK has piqued our interest, with the cast and director asked to detail their favourite Ant-Man scene that got left on the editing room floor.
Paul Rudd responded with this: “One of the things was a kind of wish-fulfilment sequence, where I discover what this suit can do. I try a bunch of different things, because I have this newfound superpower.

Scroll past Daphne for the rest of this post (we'd say 'after the jump' or something, but we've never quite worked out what that means).
Right then: Ant-Man.
Come the end of Ant-Man, Paul Rudd's Scott has saved the world, and pretty much destroyed the Yellowjacket experiment. However, there's the small matter of the character Mitchell Carson, played by Martin Donovan, who survives.
According to Ant-Man director Peyton Reed, there was a slightly different ending to the film originally. "At the end of the movie he gets away and has these Cross particles", he said, "and there was...

He's currently enjoying box office success with his movie of Marvel's Ant-Man, but for director Peyton Reed, he could nearly have been involved with another comic book movie adaptation.
He was once attached to direct the 2005 film of Fantastic Four that Fox at the time was putting together. The film would go on to star Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis in the lead roles, and would lead to one sequel. The reboot, as you probably know, is two weeks away, with Josh Trank directing.
Reed's time on the original Fantastic Four project, however, didn't seem to be too happy. "I was a huge Marvel fan when I was a kid", he told Yahoo, "and knew Fantastic Four inside out and felt they were always the crown jewel of Marvel.

Ant-Man has two sequences in its end credits - with lots of spoilers, here's what they mean...
Warning - contains massive spoilers for Ant-Man
Another Marvel film brings us a new opportunity to dissect post-credits sequences. And unlike Avengers: Age of Ultron, which kept things relatively straightforward with one quite unremarkable mid-credits scene, Ant-Man has two – and they're both pretty big deals. Here's what they are, and what we think they mean.
To give you a last chance to get out before the spoilers hit, here's a big picture to scroll past. Anything you learn from this point on is your own responsibility. Do not blame us or Jason.
Stinger 1:
Hope Van Dyne has spent the whole film being denied the chance to wear the Ant-Man suit (despite her obvious adeptness with the technologies) because Hank feels guilty about her mother, Janet, dying in a similar situation. In the first post-credits scene,...

We chatted to Peyton Reed about Marvel’s tiny blockbuster Ant-Man, and also a little about Back To The Future…
This article contains a big spoiler for Fast & Furious 6. There are very, very light Ant-Man spoilers.
When Edgar Wright parted ways with Marvel Studios, eight years into production on Ant-Man, whoever took the job was fated to end up melting under the magnifying glass of scrutiny, with a sun of an angry internet shining down on them. Or something.
The man who took the job was Peyton Reed of Yes Man, Bring It On and Down With Love vintage. Looking at the early reviews, it seems fair to say that he knocked it out of the park, presenting a fun film that blends original action, lots of laughs, and links to the wider Marvel cinematic universe.

By all accounts, season 2 of Netflix’s hit prison dramedy Orange is the New Black was a major success for the streaming giant. Since its June 6th premiere, critics have been raving about it, audiences have been talking about it, and everyone is keen to find out just what showrunner Jenji Kohan has in mind for the already-ordered 13-episode third season. Now, we’ve learned that Oscar winner Mary Steenburgen (Melvin and Howard, Back to the Future Part III) is closing a deal to appear on the show.
Details of just who Steenburgen will be playing are being kept under wraps for the time being, but her casting is a pretty done deal. The actress herself tweeted about coming aboard, with the following post:

I got the chance to interview Josh Keaton, talking about how long he's been in the voice acting business, along with past and more recent projects such as Green Lantern The Animated Series and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. How long have you been in the voice acting business? "I've been involved with voice-acting since I was a kid. I was a child actor but I auditioned mostly for on-camera work so my early voice over experience was somewhat limited. I did manage to land some fun parts though. I was Linus on Peanuts for a minute, Doc Brown's brainy kid Jules in "Back to the Future: The Animated Series," and one of the lost boys in "Peter Pan and the Pirates." 20th Century Fox has hired Back to the Future director Robert Zemekis to direct a crime drama thriller based on the true story of the Barefoot Bandit called Taking Flight: The Hunt for a Young Outlaw.
Do you remember the Barefoot Bandit? The 18-year-old named Colton Harris-Moore who became "a cult hero for a string of crimes that baffled local police, Homeland Security and the FBI." He was called the Barefoot Bandit because he would commit his crimes without shoes. He's is considered a modern-day Robin Hood who ended up stealing a small aircraft, a boat, and two cars as well as at least 100 burglaries of private residences in various locations around the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada.
Zemekis is also overseeing the screenplay development, which is currently being written by Milk scribe Dustin Lance Black. David Gordon Green was originally attached to the project but...

"Say Anything" was not particularly successful on its release. John Cusack was an established star of films like "The Sure Thing," but co-star Ione Skye was basically unknown, and director Cameron Crowe was, despite his writing credit on "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" eight years earlier, not a known quantity. As such, despite rave reviews, it only took $20 million at the domestic box office, and a meagre $733,000 internationally -- indeed, in many territories, like the U.K, it went straight to video.
But over time, partly thanks to the success of Crowe's later work like "Jerry Maguire" and "Almost Famous," and partly because of the slow realization of its brilliance, the rom-com -- which follows the fledgling relationship between ambition-free aspiring kickboxer Lloyd Dobler (John Cusack) and valedictorian Diane Court (Ione Skye), whose father (John Mahoney) is in trouble with the law -- has become one of the most beloved...

She, however, is refusing to sign the consent form to do so unless Carlton gets his estranged father, baseball legend Kyle Garrett (Jeff Bridges), to come see her before she goes in.
Carlton enlists his ex-girlfriend/current best friend Lucy (Kate Mara), whom he Obviously still has strong feelings for, to join him in going to Ohio to find his father at an autograph signing event due to the legend being unreachable by phone. After the awkward initial encounter and a little convincing, they find themselves at the airport with Kyle conveniently missing his wallet, consequently beginning their journey to Houston, TX in a giant red Hummer instead.
