It was Barbara Eden's idea to have Jeannie and her evil sister wear red outfits (It's her favorite color.)
NBC originally commissioned the movie to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of "I Dream of Jeannie."
Bill Daily openly admitted that he disliked the reunion movies, due to faulting the scripts and the absence of Larry Hagman.
The film aired on October 20, 1991, exactly six years after the broadcast of I Dream of Jeannie... Fifteen Years Later (1985).
Barbara Eden called in to the Howard Stern Show (prompted by her friend, Richard Simmons) to promote this movie. Stern asked why Larry Hagman wasn't present, and she said that Dallas had just ended, and he needed a rest.
