The Skin Trade – a werewolf novella by George R.R. Martin – has been picked up for the TV treatment by Cinemax…
Fans of George R.R. Martin, rejoice! As well as Game Of Thrones, we’ll now be getting another TV show based on his work.
This is thanks to Cinemax (a sibling network to HBO, makers of Game Of Thrones), which has picked up the rights to his werewolf novella The Skin Trade.
If you’re unfamiliar with it, this one’s all about a private investigator called Randi Wade. Randi is investigating a serial killer who has been skinning their victims. When her friend Willie Flambeaux becomes a target, she’s drawn into a dark and supernatural underworld.
“I have always thought there was a TV series (or maybe a feature film) in Willie Flambeaux and Randi Wade,” Martin told his blog-readers. “Those of you who know the story of Doorways,...

HBO has developed a very successful relationship with George R.R. Martin, the author of the best-selling epic fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, that the network is currently adapting as the commercial hit television show Game of Thrones.
Martin has been involved with the screenplay and the production of the TV series from the start. In addition, the show has increased Martin’s fan base. With their current compatibility, it seems like both parties will be extending their relationship as George R.R. Martin is set to develop and produce a new show for HBO. He has also signed a two-year contract with the channel to be an executive producer.
Considering the fact that Martin’s expertise is in the science fiction and fantasy genre, there’s a high possibility that the new series will contain elements from that category, though the series’ content hasn’t been revealed yet.
