Most of the series regulars returned for this reunion TV movie; the first of four. At Christine Cagney's party, she reads a telegram from retired police officer Paul La Guardia, who now lives in a retirement villa in Calabria. Sidney Clute played La Guardia during the series's first four seasons. He passed away in 1985, but the producers kept him billed in the opening credits of every episode of Cagney & Lacey through the seventh (and final) season in 1988.
David Payner (Deputy DA Feldberg) also played Cagney and Lacey's first on screen collar/informant, Vinnie, in the first episode of the series, "You Call This Plain Clothes"
The "techie" in the van with Cagney & Isbecki towards the end of the movie is played by Tyne Daly's daughter, Kathryne Dora Brown.
John Harkins reprises his role of Bruce Mansfield, who appeared in three episodes of the series; two in season 5 and and one in season 6.
